SAM & SONS services just completed a major remodeling project in our 60 year old house in McLean VA. The plan was to build a sunroom, completely renovate the kitchen, replace all the interior doors, replace the trims and moldings in every room, replace all of the hardwood floors in the house, upgrade the electrical box and electrical wiring system of the house, water proof the basement as well as water excavation of the foundation from outside. We have worked with many other contractors, but chose SAM & SONS. We decided on SAM & SONS after they had finished an extremely professional work they did fixing an emergency water leak in our first floor bathroom that happened on a Saturday at midnight. All the work was detailed in the contract as well as what was and was not included in their proposal. A detailed project plan and a payment schedule were provided in the contract. SAM & SONS services is a very professional organization. From start to finish, everyone involved with my project has been great. The work crews were competent and pleasant. The house looks beautiful, and the cleanup left no trace of them being there. We can honestly say from start to finish it was a pleasure having them do this work. The workers and the sub-contractors that were brought in for demolition, plumbing, electrical and tile were professional, courteous and always cleaned up very neatly after their work was done. We were extremely pleased with the quality of the workmanship done by your company. All of the people who worked on my home were friendly and professional. They showed up every day on time and conducted the job in an extremely professional manner always wearing their uniform no matter what job was involved. This aspect was important to us because we felt comfortable and our neighbors felt comfortable as the neighborhood has a concern regarding strangers being in the area. All your men are just great at whatever they do. Each day they arrived at 8:30 AM and worked continuously until the end of the day and upon completion, thoroughly cleaned up and took away any debris. SAM & SONS is a very organized and well-run company. There was a daily communication to us from the crew. Updates included when each sub contractor would be starting, a timeline of delivery dates for materials and if there were any anticipated delays at all. The Project Management was excellent. Everything went as planned. We appreciate the dedication, to the job, of SAM & SONS’s team of workers and their very pleasant behavior. This made it easy for us to tide over the difficulty in living in the house while the construction was in progress. On the whole, it was an investment well made with SAM & SONS performing the job for us. I would recommend SAM & SONS to my relatives and friends. Sam always returned my phone calls promptly and would very patiently answer my questions. He would explain everything that was being done step by step which I very much needed. We highly recommend SAM & SONS and we will certainly continue to use them in the future.

!!! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!! THEIR ESTIMATES ARE EXORBITANT!!! My elderly parents hired Sam & Sons for several jobs including; small plumbing repairs, small drywall repair/painting and insulation/weather proofing. I am an experienced plumber and carpenter and have worked for commercial contracting companies. Unfortunately, my parents didnt inform me that they hired someone to perform the work until after the fact. I learned after my mother contacted me to inform me that one of the exterior pipes that S&S had replaced had frozen and subsequently, they had no running water to their fixtures. I made the trip out to their house (I dont live close) and inspected the pipe to find that the insulation was poorly installed (gaps exposing the copper in several sections). I contacted S&S to explain the problem and they sent a rep out to inspect the issues. The rep agreed that the insulation was not installed the proper way and that he would have someone from the office contact me to set up an apt to have a a technician come back out to resurrect the issues. Two days passed and I still didnt get a call so I contacted the rep and left a message. Im still waiting to hear back from him. Meanwhile, I reviewed the invoices and completed work on the other jobs my parents hired S&S to perform. I was beside myself at what I discovered. In my professional experience, the price that S&S charged for all the work performed was AT LEAST 3 TIMES what should have been charged and the completed work was mediocre to poor in terms of quality. Bottom line: AVOID THIS COMPANY THEY WILL OVERCHARGE YOU!!!!

Painless!! My 26-yr-old attic fan failed, and I was dreading having to replace it. I called several places and chose Sam & Sons because they were able to give me an estimate range over the phone. Others wouldnt give an estimate by phone or quoted prices much higher than S&S. I didnt want to have to pay for a service call just to get an outrageous estimate -- talk about a pig in a poke. Ronay, the technician, called in advance and arrived well within the 2-hr window given (others gave 4-hr windows). He was very knowledgeable, efficient, and neat. He gave me the brochure for the fan and explained that the fan was heavy-duty (unlike my current one) and came with a lifetime warranty. I had looked at fans at a local big-box store, and they looked really cheesy. I was very happy with the one provided by S&S. He had the fan installed in no time with help from his sister who was as professional as he was. There was no mess, and both even wore booties over their shoes to prevent tracking on my carpet. I hardly knew they were there! Ronay even put back a big piece of attic insulation that had fallen, stapling it to the rafters with strong fiber tape. That piece of insulation would have had to be removed to get to the fan anyway, but I was highly relieved that Ronay put it back for me. The price was at the lower end of the range quoted me by phone, so there were no surprises. The new fan is working great. I will definitely call S&S for all my future electrical needs.

One of the most uncomfortable, unprofessional, and profane visit Ive ever had! The plumber came to my home, disinterested and angry. My landlord called for them to come fix the sink garbage disposal since it was clogged and wasnt working. From the moment this bozo started to work, he started using profanity and yelling which in turn scared my 2 year old daughter. When I told him to stop he apologized but continued to use profanity and become very aggressive at the job he had to do. He ended up leaving a mess in my kitchen, clogged the bathroom sink where he dumped all the dirty water, leaving shoe prints all over my stairs and kitchen, and then leaving without telling me hes leaving! Not to mention, my two year old daughter was very scared for me to even leave her side because she was traumatized by this unknown stranger yelling and using foul language in the home. Not to mention, after all this, the job wasnt even done! I called the place to tell them of my experience. Said theyd call back but never did. What lazy, unprofessional, unorganized, disinterested, disrespectful company and employees. I dont recommend you ever use this service for your household needs and repairs.
