When dealing with Janaza services, I was spoken to condescendingly, rudely, and unprofessionally by Sister Mariam. She yelled at me about a situation she was supposed to handle, but expected me to do her job for her. Once Janaza has collected their money from you, they do not want to be bothered or to make sure everything was handled correctly. I was given conflicting information and was yelled at on the phone by Sister Mariam. She also left a nasty voicemail yelling and saying she will not help anymore. She also did not want me to write this review and threatened me when I told her I will be completing a review. I am disappointed with the unprofessionalism I have experienced with this Muslim funeral home. They have no manners at all and will argue with customers and send nasty text messages. I would not recommend Janazah services to anyone. No customer service at all. Who yells at their customers on the phone and leaves unprofessional messages on their phone? All they care about is their money and do not follow through with their commitments and ensuring the tasks are complete. They must have their relatives writing false reviews for them to paint a false image of them. I would not advise anyone to take their loved one to Janaza services. Their service is very disorganized. Response to sister Mariam below: My fathers body was picked up by Stauffer funeral home, because they were the closest to our address. Since my father passed during the snow storm, it was difficult to get him anywhere else due to the road conditions. I was in new york the day of his death so my relatives in Maryland arranged to have the body taken from the non muslim home (Stauffer) to a Muslim home Janazah. We wanted a place that will perform the muslim burial rights. Also it is part of the sunnah in Islam to do the burial as quickly as possible. When I came to MD from NY, I made the payments in full to Janaza. We made the switch from Stauffer to Janaza because of religion and not cost. Also, I understand you are upset about receiving a bad review, but it was not done out of malice or with the intention to intimidate you. It was to express a negative experience with Janazah to help potential customers before they make a decision and to also give you constructive criticism so you can improve your customer service and communication with customers. I happened to land on Janazah Services contact info through web search and I am glad that I did. My uncle had passed away in NC so it wasnt just a matter of burial but also of getting the body to VA. Sister Miriam handled everything from working directly with the hospital in NC, arranging for transport to VA, and working with mosque for Janazah and cemetery in Stafford for burial. The price she quoted for everything was more reasonable than all other places and you dont have to hassle with her over money. I find sister Miriam to be a straight forward person and I would rather deal with her than with someone else who is being overly nice but cutting corners and overcharging. Dont want to finish this review without mentioning the brother who performed washing of the body. It was my first experience taking part in washing of the body and brother was MashAllah very knowledgeable and professional. The only negative experience we had was with the transport from mosque to cemetery where brother driving the funeral vehicle seemed to be in a rush and basically just left everyone behind to reach cemetery and that is the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

I have dealt with customer service all my life and I have to say that I had the best experience working with Miriam and her team. I had many questions about Muslim burials and Miriam was very patient. She answered all of my questions and even provided information that I would not have known about otherwise. The key was being able to get detailed clear answers about all aspects of the service. Since all questions had been answered everything was clear with a distinct timeline. Miriam is very organized and even put together an email for me with timelines , details and instructions; I was able to combine this with my words so that everyone had a clear schedule of the day. It was very well done. I had guidance throughout the day from the lead washer/driver who was very helpful for everything. All family and friends were very pleased!!

We had a pretty good experience with Janazeh Services. I contacted Miriam right after my loss and she faxed hospital release sheet immediately to sign and fax it back. Next day, they took body and prepared it for funeral a couple of days later. The funeral folks had ground work ready on the funeral day and driver showed up with flowered casket exactly at the designated time at which time I paid the amount due. I am glad that I asked for extra lowering service for casket. I got death certificates few weeks afterwards. Overall, my experience was very smooth. Special thanks to Miriam and her coworker who coordinated everything ahead of time and made this process easy for us. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for reasonable, fast and smooth funeral services.

We have used Janazh services for my late father funeral and I was very disappointed with the followings: 1-the cost wasnt disclosed properly or clearly and we had to pay an additional $1400 of fees that we were not made aware until the time of the funeral and burial. 2-the place was a in a warehouse area and the owners didnt invest any time, money or effort to make the place look decent and feel more comforting or welcoming. 3-the place had no heat on in the middle of winter ( February) 4- we were over charge and the service wasnt worth half of what we paid. I sincerely do not recommend this business.
