We stumbled upon Creative World in 2014 after having a terrible experience at a local montessori academy that left our 4-year-old son reeling. We knew we had to get it right, and toured literally every private preschool in Chesapeake and even a few in VA Beach/Norfolk. My first impression of Creative World was that the environment was warm, inviting, and vibrant. It seemed too good to be true, but we took a leap of faith and hoped for the best. We have been beyond impressed with this gem of a school and are so lucky to have found it. The staff at Creative World are amazing. They go above and beyond to ensure the kids are having fun, being challenged, and feel safe and loved. Our son went from crying over going to school each day to having a smile on his face each day when we picked him up. I think the biggest difference between this school and others weve seen is that at Creative World, the kids are valued and treated like human beings. Their voices are heard, their different opinions and personalities are respected, and they feel like they are a part of the community (a big part!). At the graduation, the staff went out of their way to make sure the kids felt proud of themselves and knew that this was a special day for them. It was as good or better than any high school graduation Ive ever been to! Creative World is bursting at the seams with creativity. The pre-K curriculum is bar none. Every day the kids are doing hands-on projects, learning concepts typically reserved for older children. The classrooms are covered with the kids work, and each class guides its own journey through the current topic. We received an amazing portfolio at the end of the year that chronicled our sons journey through pre-K, complete with photos and personal assessments. Another important aspect of this school that I thoroughly appreciate is how the school administration interacts with parents. Many schools Ive been a part of have an invisible wall between administration and parents - its us vs. them. Not the case here. Parents are welcome in the classrooms, the administration is kind and communicative, and the staff are all receptive to our opinions and needs. This is a close-knit school that offers a supportive, loving environment, competent teachers, and an outstanding curriculum all at once.

First, the staff of CWS - Riverwalk is great. There were some issues we experienced, as with any childcare, and the Director fielded our concerns promptly and professionally. Likewise, the teachers welcome the regular feedback and heads up you expect with a toddler. Second, CWS - Riverwalk is clean and in good repair. The facility has two well-stocked playgrounds (playground equipment, balls, tricycles, helmets, etc.) that complement the indoor Imaginarium, which has multiple learning / play stations. Each classroom has kid size sinks and toilets and we attribute these to being a big help in our successful potty training. Lastly, the decor in each room is constantly updated with the current curriculum and photos of kids in that class. My son really feels that is "his" classroom. Third, our son has not yet experienced the kindergarten transition process, so I cannot comment on it, but I am optimistic as the plan that CWS - Riverwalk has appears to be very thorough. There are some things to consider, though. The school closes early (at 3 PM) very often, usually before a holiday. Not everyone gets to leave work early before a holiday, so this is an aggravating challenge. Also, the school closes at 6 PM regularly, which is tough given work and traffic. Also, we have not seen any "Parents Night Out" offerings. Lastly, the school does not stick to a strict regimen for the kids, so some days we get a toddler who has not napped. If you can work around the schedule challenges, I would recommend CWS - Riverwalk. Your child will be will taken care of and will enjoy himself or her self while learning. If you do enroll here, I suggest forgoing the Fun Bus. It is an extra expense that does not add value over what the school fundamentally offers.

Creative World School is a truly spectacular educational program and environment for early learning. Our two children have been with CWS since infancy and through pre-school. The environment is safe; the programming is curriculum-based, diverse and age-appropriate; the cuisine is nutritious and thoughtful; and the staff and teachers are thoughtful, gracious, and committed to the welfare and growth of the children they care for and teach. After experiencing two other early childhood learning centers (one in Chesapeake, and another in Norfolk), the quality of the staff and programming at CWS proved difficult to top! Our family highly values and appreciates CWS -- truly an early-learning academy for infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers.

My son started going there a couple of days after he turned one and I can see his progress over the last three months has been so significant. He knows his colors and shapes already! Before he started attending he refused to walk and within a matter of weeks he started walking and then running! Everyone there love my child almost as much as I do and I couldnt ask for a better place for him to grow and learn. Ms. Jenae and Ms. Alexxis are fully of energy and positivity everyday! Coming from my mother watching hand in her home he made a smooth transition because they made us feel right at home.

I worked there for nearly 4 years before relocating due to my husbands career and it was an outstanding experience for both employees and parents. I was brought on board after a vigorous hiring and training process to ensure they employ nothing but the best to carry out their curriculum and meet the needs of the children they serve. After searching for a true preschool I was happy to discover this one! Their curriculum is top notch; ensuring that children are educated while theyre having fun! Its absolutely brilliant; if I had little ones of my own this is where Id want them to be :)

I want to thank you for introducing my son to school over the past 1 1/2 years. The teachers and staff have been so loving & caring, I wanted to say “thank you”. I have been delighted with your school. I always felt my son was in good hands. I was always well informed of his progress and I felt he was safe there. The faculty is very clean and the way the staff interacted with my child and his school-mates was great. I will speak highly of Creative world school River Walk to all my friends and neighbors. Continued success and good luck.

My daughter attended pre-kintergarten at Creative World from 2009-2010 and absolutely loved it. As parents, we had nothing but a wonderful experience. My daughter LOVED her teacher and still talks about her. They make an effort to make learning fun and exciting. They also had some great family activities (strawberry picking and thanksgiving dinner come to mind) that provided a real sense of community. Since she moved on she has done very well in public school school. I would highly recommend Creative World to anyone.
