I would highly recommend The Goddard School to anyone looking for a safe, fun and educational enviornment for your children. I have two children that attend The Goddard School. My son started at age 2 and is currently transitioning to the Pre-K room. He has learned so much - both academically and socially. I read the daily report that the parents get and when I quiz my son and he can always tell me about something his teacher taught him - I think that is so awesome! I also really like how outside members of the community come in to educate the children, i.e. Fire department, Vet, and Virginia Living Museum to name a few. My daughter started in the infant room. She just turned a year old and transitioned to the Get Set Toddler room. The teachers in both rooms are exceptional in working with the kids - they are affectionate, play, read books, sing songs and do art work - all of the things you would want for your child. All of the teachers and supporting staff are exceptional - all educated and truly care about each child. Having my children at The Goddard School makes going to work everyday a little easier knowing that they will learn and grow in a safe and caring environment.

The Goddard School is more than just a daycare or school, it feels more like a family. The teachers/staff always have a smile to greet the children and the parents. They take immense pride in their curriculum and the amount of learning activities that the children are involved in each day. My wife and I often comment about all of the things that our son has learned from social skills like pushing in his chair, cleaning up without arguing, waiting his turn, to academic tasks like exploring shape puzzles, interacting with books, conducting age appropriate science experiments, and developing language skills. All of this is done through play and lessons focused on the children. Our son asks to stop by all of his old classrooms so he can visit his the teachers and friends. As elementary school teachers, we have peace of mind that he is taken care of, challenged to learn socially and academically, and that he loves being there. At the age of almost 2, he looks forward to going to school every day and it often takes 5 - 10 minutes to get him to leave. We could not be happier having him at this Goddard School and surrounded by so many caring people.

If you are looking for a safe, clean, and caring environment for your child, look no further! The Goddard School has the best childcare program on the Peninsula. The Director and teachers are all friendly and patient with the kids and parents. My daughter enjoys going to school every day and within a year, I have seen her excel in her language, cognitive, and motor skills. She loves to read, play, sing and dance with her friends and teachers. Since the first day I walked into the Goddard School, I knew it was going to be the best place for my daughter. A year has passed and the school continues to provide exceptional care and lives up to high quality standards. I HIGHLY recommend the Goddard School to any parent looking for a safe and caring environment!

I would not consider this school at all!! First, the owner (Bob), is very self-centered and lacks professionalism. Also, the staff did not seem pretty pleasant - possibly from the lack of leadership. The only reason why I decided to register my unborn son is because of their exceptional safety rating. However, once I found another school that had an opening, and with an equal to better safety rating, I immediately withdrew my registration. Lastly, the contract does not have reasonable terms and conditions. If you decide to enroll, I would read the fine print. Some of the clauses are not industry standard. Overall, I would not recommend this school to anyone.

My son has attended The Goddard School for the past 3 years, and weve both loved every day of it. The Goddard School has an outstanding curriculum, which has expanded my sons knowledge of science, nature, history, reading, and on and on. My son will graduate Pre-K this week, and his entire class will be singing the 50 states song (he knows all 50 states, without missing a beat), Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in Spanish, and sign language. I cant say enough positive things about The Goddard Schools owner, staff, and teachers. Were sad to leave, but know that my son will already be well beyond kindergarten standards, in every subject, when he begins elementary school next year.

We have two children at Goddard and are very impressed. The teachers in our classrooms are caring, concerned, friendly, and willing to go the extra mile to make school a great experience for our kids. The school is a safe learning environment. They have a great curriculum with a lot to offer. Both of our children have blossomed since starting at Goddard. Our 2 year old’s verbal and cognitive skills have soared and our 5 year old is more than academically and socially ready for Kindergarten. They have also expressed how much fun they have at school. The owner, Mr. Bob is very engaged. He is extremely caring and easy to talk to. We will and have recommended it to others.

We love Goddard! As a matter of fact, I only wish wed found it sooner! My 2.5 year old entered Goddard as his first school earlier this year and weve had nothing but positive experiences. Its clean and well kept, the staff is friendly, helpful, and always professional, classes are small, and the structure allows for children to decide to participate in individual or group activities. But its more than that; Goddard feels like home. My son is known, by name, to all of the staff. They all smile and greet him and hes genuinely happy to see everyone and to be at school. The curriculum is impressive but the personal feel is why we chose, and will continue to choose, Goddard.

My son started at the Goddard School in Yorktown when he was 8 weeks old while I finished my doctoral dissertation. From the first day we visited, to his first day at school, to now more than a year later my son has loved and excelled being at Goddard. All of the teachers have been welcoming and helpful. The staff is conscious about all of the kids and create an environment where learning and fun go together. My sons verbal and physical skills have been and continue to be advanced for his age and we attribute this to the wonderful environment at Goddard. I would recommend the Goddard school to any parent looking for a great daycare.

My five year old started attending The Goddard School once it was realized that he was not quite ready for kindergarten. I was fortunate to enroll him in The Goddard School. His teacher, teachers aide, Mr. Bob (the owner), indeed the entire staff helped him grow and mature enough that he passed kindergarten screening with flying colors and started kindergarten as an early reader. Enrolling him in The Goddard School was the best decision I could have made. He truly excelled in the excellent learning environment offered by the school. I have recommended the school to other parents (and expectant parents).

I think youre doing a terrific job with my grandson....he appears most happy and the staff treats him well. The size of the nursery is just right and everyone is apparently very happy. Keep up the good work! Rebecca Wright-Raymo Grandmother to Fin Nelson)
