I just moved to the area and was looking for a good barber at a somewhat reasonable price. I saw the good reviews online and decided to give Dominion Barber Shop a try. So I walk in and they set me up with the 80 year old man. Ok, why not? Greetings, "I would like a medium fade with a 2 on the sides and 1/2" off the top please." He starts to work from the bottom up and then continues all the way to the top back side with the clippers. He then starts to slice into the front top side with the clippers. I say, "Whoa, make sure you leave it long enough so I can spike it up." I expect him to switch to the scissors at this point, but he just switches to longer length clippers. Ok, so I figure its cheap and he wont use scissors. I dont know if he got too tired or something, but he then gave it to grandma, and he just says "spiky." What kind of communication is that? I tell her Its good enough on the front and I like it long enough to spike. She goes at it and takes my top down to less than half an inch off the bottom! I look in the mirror and say, "Hey, I didnt want it this short!" She says, "would you like to buy spring rolls?" I just gave up. If I wanted my hair butchered, Id just go back to Fort Benning, GA and get a hair cut for $3.75, that would have turned out even better than this. If you go here, beware and avoid Great Grandpa!

Ive been to this barber three times because I think its important to average out experiences for services like this. The first two haircuts were mediocre but not bad. But my last haircut was terrible. People here (yelp, google, etc) seem to like the massages and hot towels and they are nice if you want one, but whether you want one or not youll get both. The massage I received on my first visit lasted about 6 minutes and was sort of awkward. The next two times I went the massages lasted about 2 minutes despite me asking for them to stop. The thing that swayed me against recommending this place is their approach to sideburns. They shave them off with a straight razor which is fine except on my last visit my barber also shaved the top half of each cheek. I have (or had) a light beard and left looking like a clown with half my face shaved. At the end they rubbed talcum powder on the side of my face and back of my neck which was - odd. Ive never had that done before. I just didnt understand the talcum powder. Absolutely terrible experience and overall a bad barber. I cannot recommend this place.

I was driving around frantic about going to get a simple gentlemen haircut in McLean as I had a couple bad experiences at Hair Cuttery and decided to find a place that had some stability with employees who cut hair. I found the right place! They are super nice folks at Dominion, always giving you a hello and goodbye, a great haircut, warm towel over the face, shave, and a short massage to boot. Oh, the water or soft drink on the way out is a nice touch. I drive way across town every couple months (could walk to a hair cuttery where we live)as it is well worth the good experience. I will be taking our 15 month old there this week as I trust the "young" lady who has cut my hair for the past 9 years.

After trying many barbershops, this was a refreshing find. I think there were eight people cutting hair and there was a steady stream of customers coming in on a Friday afternoon. Price in March 2010 is $17 for a haircut. My stylist clearly had skill and did a great job. The haircut ended with a hot towel and brief shoulder massage. They offer complimentary cans of sodas and coffee. Well done. You could also get a long facial massage. I was a little envious of one guy getting one because it looked so relaxing.

I have been getting a haicut here for many years. Dau who is my favorite does an excellent job with dealing with my fine hair which sticks up if too short and shows every cut if not done correctly. The haircut includes a head massage and a bottle of water. More than once have fallen asleep with the massage of course some jet lag may have been involved. I highly recommend this shop if you need a good professional haircut!

I was looking for a good barber shop in Mclean for many years and I am not sure how I missed Dominion Barber Shop. I was there today for the first time and Trina did an amazing job. Everyone was extremely pleasant. They are a full service barber shop so I will be going back to get a shave this weekend. Oh… the head and shoulder massage was great...not sure if I wanted to go back to work after that.

I and my family have always had a good experience here. If you do not want a hot towel or the shoulder massage, just ask that they not do that. But almost all the people here are quite good at what they do (funnily enough, not the owner or her husband, in my opinion, but they are all lovely people)

Head and shoulder massage with your hair cut, plus a hot towel treatment. I still drive from Berwyen Heights md to get my haircut here cause I havnt found as good a place locally to get my hair cut. Great prices too. If you live anywhere in the DMV this is the place to get your hair cut.

Great haircut. Will not say which stylist is the best in fear you will want them! Prices are reasonable and you get a massage, hot towel and bottle of water out of the deal. So good. Been going for 2 years. Will literally not get my haircut anywhere else.

The haircuts are always perfect, the massages and hot towels are icing on the cake. Its not the most inexpensive place ($18), but the service is well worth it. Theyve been my steady barber for coming on three years now.

Absolutely great! Felt like every hear got a special treatment. Complementary water, hot towel and a shoulder & neck massage completed the package and all for $18. Got great haircut too.

I have been going for years and have always had a great experience. My son, who is 9,, loves it too. If you want a basic haircut with great service, this is the place to come.

As funny as it sounds, most barbers dont do a good job cutting a bald persons hair. These are real barbers who know how to cut mens hair. Trina and Chi are my favorites.

The best barber shop in the area, capped off with a nice massage and a cold bottle of water, and not too expensive. Keep in mind they accept cash only.
