My family was lost. We had never been through this experience before. My daughter knew as soon as she called (& she had tried more than one place) that Keith Matthews was the perfect place to handle her husbands service. The people there helped us every step of the way. The service was so special, so wonderful that I could never say enough about their kindness, their professionalism, their caring. They showed their respect and true care in EVERY way. If youre as overwhelmed and as unprepared as we were, you just need to call them and they will take care of things. Were a working class family, certainly not rich, but the wonderful people there never made us feel anything less than completely reassured and willing to work with us in any way they could. The cost was fair and workable for us. Along with help from my son-in-laws wife & children, his father and wonderful friends (special thanks to The Eagles Nest) we were able to completely pay the reasonable cost though they would have worked with us if we hadnt been so lucky. One of the people in charge there actually had sang with Luther Vandross and other fine singers, he graced us with his beautiful singing at our request. My older grandchildren compiled a beautiful picture show and the youngest played the organ. Among all the other wonderful things to say about Keith Andrews, our loved one looked perfect for my daughters choice of an open casket viewing. My son-in-law was also, at his request, an organ donor. Keith Matthews Funeral Home is without a doubt the right choice for anyone. R.I.P. Kevin Lamont Allen, survived by his wife, Michelle Allen and their four children, Kristen, Ashley, Trey and Cymmi.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Keith Matthews a few years ago at his funeral home during the wake of a play cousin of mine. He was very kind and very professional. Very recently my family and I had the somber task of having to bury our parents which was very hard on us. When my mother passed away I chose Keith Matthews funeral home because of the heartwarming and professional experience of meeting him in the past, and I needed a professional who had a kind heart and warm emotions. And since this meeting was a very personal and humble one I got to meet Keith Matthews on a personal level. He was still the kind, caring, and considerate man that I met a few years ago. He is not someone who preys on grieving families by offering jacked up funeral prices or unwanted funeral packages. He helped us throughout the whole funeral planning process. He offered suggestions on burial attire for my mother which was a godsend because all I knew was the color that she wanted to be buried in. When my father died two weeks later I again turned to Mr. Matthews because I knew he would be there ready to help however he could because that is the kind of man he is. That itself made that experience a little easier. Keith Matthews and his team are very caring, compassionate, and professional people and if anyone needs a good, decent, and outstanding funeral home call Keith Matthews. He will not disappoint.

Theres a saying "that bigger is better",but not in this case..before my mother passed she instructed me that she wanted Keith Matthews Funeral Home to handle her service,personally I never heard of this gentleman.When my mom passed we contacted keith, and now I understand why she wanted his service.Keith made everything smooth,he went over everything with us and in this trying time for me he eased the pain of putting my mother to rest.I HAVE NOTHING BUT PRAISE FOR KEITH AND HIS FAMILY FOR HELPING ME AND MY FAMILY. When Mr. Matthews first opened his business he assisted me with having my fathers remains moved from a cemetery in Portsmouth, VA, to a cemetery in North Carolina. I later learned that this is not something his business makes money off of. I would never have known that, though, because he was helpful, professional, kind, thorough, and compassionate. I highly recommend him and his services in your time of need.
