I recently applied to a position through the Don Richard Associates website, unaware that DRA had been purchased by Reliance. When I went to the DRA website to check on the status of the position I noticed the website had been absorbed by Reliance, and the specific job I was interested in had a new contact person/email address. I emailed the new contact, a Reliance executive recruiter, expressing my continued interest in the position and that I was not certain my materials were received or if I was still being considered for the position. I reattached all of my application materials (Cover Letter, Resume) with both my email contact information, my phone number, and simply requested that she "Please contact me to let me know these materials have been received." It has been three weeks since I sent her the email and I have not been contacted by anyone - not even to let me know, yes, weve gotten your email. Even an automated message would be nice. At this point, Im not expecting much else from this experience. I understand that people who walk into the office might receive different treatment, but if emails are simply ignored I wouldnt keep leading on job-seekers. I would think, too, that because I specifically was referencing a job from DRA, that Reliance would not want to come across like information got lost in the merge. I even called the Reliance office asking to speak to the executive recruiter to whom I sent the email, and was told somewhat rudely that I had contacted the wrong office (there are four), and that the woman I needed to speak to was located at another office/in a meeting. The person on the phone did not ask how she could be of assistance to me, and quite honestly didnt sound the slightest bit interested in why I was calling in the first place. I suggest that if you are looking to use Reliance Staffing to find a job, do not waste your time trying to contact them via phone/email. Rearrange your current schedule to visit them in person. Perhaps I would have walked away with a different review for them had I done that initially.
