This is a great salon. Especially when things go right. And Lauren is a talented stylist. Even when the outcome of the service she provides isn’t what you described. Nor what you wanted. Nor what you thought you would pay for. This was my latest experience with this salon. And this is how things unfolded when I brought the matter to their attention: They were reasonable. They graciously offered me a second appointment. Another chance to come back to get the other half of the treatment they started. A complete service I never intended to obtain. But that appointment never happened. I received a call from my stylist 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment stating she was behind and wouldn’t have the time to do what I want. I very much appreciated this last minute cancellation. For my sake. And I understand they did that for me. And they just wanted to make me happy. So again, they took care of me. They graciously offered yet a third appointment. I could not have been more appreciative. They provided me the opportunity to clear my schedule one more time. To come in and receive and pay full price for the other half of the service I never asked for. But let’s not get hysterical, this is only hair. And maybe a little of my time. And just a small portion of my money. And who doesn’t have three days and $80.00 to squander. I recommend everyone visit Shear Style Salon. You just can’t get service like this anywhere. They are the exception. All the staff here are amazingly sweet and zen like. Because angelic is easy to be when you have no awareness of your error. Are unconcerned with your level of performance. And have no intention of taking responsibility for your mistakes.

I ABSOLUTELY adore the spa here! Angel is the best aesthetician Ive ever had the pleasure of working with. I just did a full spa day - mani, pedi, massage, facial. At the end I felt so pampered and petted it was magical. And even though the treatments were a week ago, my hands, feet, and face are still as soft as when I walked out of there. Angel has also been my waxer for two years now. I hate it when i cant get back to VA for her to take care of me - Ive never found someone as quick and painless when it comes to everything from the eyebrows to the toes. Ive never had my hair done here, but if the salon is anything like the spa theyre worth every penny and then some. Try them out!!!

Ive been going here 2 years. Id say Im happy with it about half the time. Over time the price had gone up for a hair cut. The color sometimes is perfect but more often not because the consultation part doesnt happen if youre a repeat customer. Also the scalp massage gets shorter and shorter. On my most recent and last visit my stylist brought her daughter to the salon. The daughter then proceeded to stop by the chair repeatedly and by the end just sat on the chair at the station next to me. This made me really uncomfortable because I was very unhappy with the much darker color and I felt awkward about expressing with Sam the stylist with the daughter starting at me. Its just unprofessional.

Shear Style Salon and Spa has been my salon of choice since the day it opened. Ive been a very happy client of Scotts for nearly 12 years. Scott is simply the best stylist on the peninsula. His cutting, styling and coloring techniques are impeccable. Ive had the pleasure of watching all of the stylists creations for many years and they are always top-notch, no matter what the occasion. I would trust any one of them. The atmosphere of the salon and the spa is relaxing and all of the staff are professional and go out of their way to accommodate you. Skill, style, courtesy and class are what you can expect at Shear Style Salon and Spa.

I love this salon! Angel is amazing and painless at waxing! Not sure what the girl meant below me, but her negative review is definitely not the case. The salon owner is Scott Shearer, and even when he is busy with clients, he always greets other clients coming in with a smile, and allows the front desk coordinators to do their job by officially greeting me. All of the hairdressers do an amazing job, Ive hopped around to a few of them and love them all. I even got a massage from the newest masseuse Leah, and WOW! She has magic hands! I wouldnt go anywhere else in Hampton Roads to get my spa services. Shear Style is definitely the best!

I followed Anne Marie over to Shear Style and Im so glad I did! Moving to across the country can be scary, and that initial hair appointment with someone new is just as nerve racking, but Anne Marie always listens to exactly what you want. Even if youre not sure, she can help guide you to what she thinks will look great and it always looks & feels incredible! She has a great eye, her cuts/layers are always on point, as well as the highlights. I have been going to her ever since moving to the area, and not once have I left feeling disappointed. Go here and go to Anne Marie! :)

I was in desperate need of a new style and a friend of mine referred me to Bobbie at Shear Style. I made an appointment and was pleasantly surprised! The salon is immaculate, but Bobbie is FANTASTIC! Shes very knowledgeable and took the time to teach me how to style my hair, what products work best, and even what cut works for my face. Ill never go to anyone else!

The receptionist greeted me right away and was pleasant. I have not been happy with my hair in over 3 years until I got a cut at Shear Style and Salon by Lauren. What a great experience! Lauren listened to my concerns and made it happen. She is super friendly, professional, and talented. I highly recommend her.

I started going here because of the great reviews I saw and thought I would pass on my review. Becca and Lauren are wonderful. Becca cuts my hair regularly and Lauren did a balayage tonight. My hair was damaged 9 months ago and these two ladies have made me a new woman. Highly recommend both of them.

I will NEVER do business here. Be sure that you dont reccomend anyone do! They brought personal business into the work place and turned a repeat PAYING customer away because of a break up. THATS RIGHT! Someone way turned away because of a break up. So, Id think twice about this place if I were you.

Shear Style is my top pick for an amazing cut by friendly and professional stylists. I always feel well taken care of from start to finish. While Ive only ever had my hair cut here, they do seem to offer a longer list of services including spa and nail treatments.

Lauren is an Excellent hair stylist! She is the first stylist that I have ever gone to that has done EXACTLY what I want! Never cuts my hair to much and always goes above and beyond with my colors! I highly recommend this salon! Pricey but worth every penny!
