I was on my way to Rudys on Phinney Ridge where I normally go when I called and heard there would be a 1 hour wait. So I happily stumbled on this place instead and Im so glad I did. Extremely skilled people here without the pretentious hipster feel of a place likd Rudys and at a phenomenally reasonable price! I paid $14 for the cut and $5 for a beard trim. He even shaved the back of my neck which many barbers skip. I asked for a number 2 fade and he delivered perfect results. $19 plus tip for a fantastic cut and beard trim with no wait at all. In and out in 30 minutes. The remarkable thing is at Rudys I would have waited for an hour and paid $45 for the same service. Unbelievable. With this one great experience, 44th has won my loyalty. I will be back and with their great rates I can actually afford to go every month rather than waiting until I couldnt put it off anymore like Ive done with Rudys. Update: been back a few more times and adjusted my review from 5 to 4 stars. Definitely makes a difference which barber you get. The younger guy is the best. Also the American Crew product they are selling is fake hence the very low price. Ive used that stuff for years but when i bought theres it made my skin break out like no other.

Great service!! Even better skills!! I am a "bearded professional", so that means that I need to have my facial hair reshaped about every 10 days! This is the best place for folks who need that kind of persistent grooming. Hot towel and lather shave (to make sure my lines are back where theyre suppose to be)!! Im so particular about how my beard is maintained (36 times a year, if youre wanting to know the math!!). Their pricing is fair so if you need extra trips to the shop, like myself, it wont kill your wallet. These barbers take the time to make sure I get exactly what I need done. A++ SERVICE!! Im never leaving this place!

I have decided to update my review as it was not due justice. I wouldnt say my experience was horrible from a customer service perspective. They all seem very nice, run a clean shop and I saw they had beer which is cool if youre waiting I guess. Either way, for $14 you cant expect a ton. Your mileage may vary I wont be identifying the barber in my original comment as he deserves to be reviewed on his merits by all customers. If its truly a problem it wont be unique to my experience. Everyone has a bad day now and then

I am female and called for an appt. I like very short hair. It seems they consider themselves trained to cut childrens hair and any male, but then when it comes to women they forget their training and do not know how to cut short hair on a woman, and they said they have a no women policy and to go to a salon. Salons commonly cut mens hair and do not forget their training, and do not come out of the day with any injury after giving men haircuts. A strong bias against women. I give them a minus five rating.

If you want a quality haircut every time, make the drive to 44th Ave Barbershop. I drive by about 4-5 other Barbarshops to come here. Supercuts? Pay 22-25 a trip with tip? This place is $14, I happily hand them a $20 and call it good. Ive never had to whip out my clipper kit to fix an error in the mirror at home. Do yourself a favor and try these guys out. Imagine this: walking out of a shop every time feeling like you have got the best haircut of your life. I am not exaggerating.

I was in the Lynwood area and needed a haircut so I looked up barber shops near me. 44th Avenue Barber Shop came up with the best reviews so I decide to try them out. As soon as I walked in, they were super friendly. Im picky about the way my hair gets cut but they were very attentive, quick but precise and at a very reasonable price. I will continue to get my hair cut here and highly recommend them to anyone needing a quick, quality cut!

I think the guys name was Houng who helped me but anyways, I told him I wanted my hair left long on top and short on the sides with a fade, he was timely but not rushed, he did an excellent job and fixed my previous bad haircut. He used a straight razor too! You can tell they arent just trying to get you in and out, they are focused on giving you a good haircut 5 stars you guys rock, I will definitely be coming back

Price is great and Ive always been pleased with my haircut. Pretty fast too. Ive only had to wait for a few minutes at the most. They get you in and out quickly, which is exactly what I want. Plus, this is a real barber shop. Reminds me of the one my dad used to take me to. They use a straight razor with warm shaving cream to do some of the close work and offer a shave the same way.

You get what you pay for. They butchered my hair. I asked to shorten it but leave it long enough to style on the sides and longer top. They ended up buzzing the whole thing all the way into the top on one side. Theres not even enough hair left for another shop to blend and fix. I get thats the cool hipsterish style people want, but its not what I wanted or asked for.

I was one of their first consistent customers when they opened up so Ive been regular customer for about 4 years now. Son and his wife are consistent, efficient, caring, spend more time in areas where youd expect, and most importantly, they are skilled! I would recommend anybody hands down to the 44th avenue barber shop.

Are you kidding me!? Never been here before and just got the most detailed and best haircut of my life. Any guy looking to get cleaned up and are looking for a specific look just show your stylist and sit back and relax! Theres a reason they have such a high star rating! Definitely coming back!

Sunday morning, they have at least 8 people working. Awesome haircut, went over like 3 times to get stragglers. And she topped it off with a straight razor shave around the ears and on the neck. $13.99. Probably the best haircut Ive gotten.

My fave spot to get lined up. Get lined up by the guys. A few of the females just try to rush through the hair cut and get you out the door. Every cut Ive got from the dudes were on point. Plus you can have a free beer while you wait
