I was horrified how this facility handled the passing of my family member. They came in a mini van and did not even bother to have darkened windows. The two individuals that showed up did not respect the family members and were unprofessional when they approached the house. After going in the house the family members that were male were asked to help lift and handle the individual that had pass. The process was lengthy and I felt the attendants did not respect the family or the individual that had passed. They were unorganized and inefficient with moving the deceased individual out of the household. Again I was horrified the lack of respect that this facility showed the deceased and the family members.

Brookside did a great job of taking care of our family. The staff was compassionate, genuine and helped us understand everything that needed to be done. We never felt rushed or pressured to purchase additional services. It was also nice to have our family taken care of by a local family / neighbors rather than a large corporate chain. We were treated with patience and kindness, and given a to-do list, which has been very helpful. We only wanted cremation, as we are from out-of-state, and were relieved that there was no pressure to purchase unneeded items or services. Also, they took care of notifying the VA and social security; and we were presented with a flag in honor of our fathers WWII service, courtesy of the VA.
