I wasnt very happy with my experience at this particular dance studio. I came to Tacoma on business and was looking for somewhere to continue learning and figured I would try out this studio since back home I go to an Arthur Murray Studio; which is really good. At this particular studio, when I asked the girl if any of the instructors where professional, meaning competitive dancers, she replied that “all the instructors where professionals and certified,” I said “no, I mean are they professionals where they compete?” She rolled her eyes at me and said “I don’t know what you mean, all our instructors are professionals” and then kind of brushed me off. They had the instructor that they put me with call me on the phone and talk to me about what I was interested in, the guy told me that they didn’t teach International style, which is what I am training in, and that the teach social dancing because that what their students like. I informed him that I am not interested in being taught as a social dancer and that I am actually looking to compete. In the assessment lesson I felt that I was at a higher level then the instructor and I am only an amateur dancer. I was shocked when they told me that lessons where $149 for 40 minutes. Needless to say I informed them that I would not be continuing on with them. I found another studio that was a little further North and could train me in International styles along with being able to help me with my Ballroom dances.

As a business owner myself, I know the importance of the first contact with a potential client or associate. When asked to contact a person a certain way, I am certain to respond the way they ask. After giving my information (NOT including my phone number) and asking to be emailed or snail mailed regarding a question, I was searched online and then called on the phone. Strike one. Then when relaying a previous bad experience regarding daily sales calls from another Arthur Murray studio she snootily denied my experience. Like it didnt happen??? Then I was refused help or service, and the call ended. Im a member of the Bremerton Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber President is the CEO of the Kitsap Sun (a daily newspaper), were members of the Downtown Business Association in Bremerton, and also own a dance studio. This was so offensive, I will NEVER recommend this studio to people local to Tacoma and WILL make sure to mention my terrible experience to everyone I meet that dances in Tacoma.

Arthur Murray Tacoma is a great dance studio! They make dancing fun, accentuate social skills, and concentrate on real life dancing. Arthur Murray is a little spendy ... I danced there as a student for over a year, and it cost me over $9,000, but you get what you pay for. This is the creme-de-le-creme for dance studios, and their great dancing students reflect the quality instruction everyone receives at Arthur Murray Tacoma. If you want to learn how to dance, and have the money, Arthur Murray is the place to go. Dancing is fun!

My husband and I first came to Arthur Murray to test it out through GroupOn. We had such a great time that we bought a smaller package next, then we decided to get real and bought the year package. The instructors are so nice and patient with everyone they work with. TJ who handles the front office is amazing and wonderful. We cannot say enough positive about our experience and to top it off we now dance when on vacations, at weddings and well sometimes just because. Thank you Arthur Murray Tacoma!!
