This place is absolutely amazing. I have been a repeat customer for over 3 years now and I have never once had a bad hair cut, and I believe I have had every person there cut my hair at least once by now. They recently started accepting walk-ins, which is fantastic, given my work schedule. Although, if you know you need a hair cut ahead of time, like for an important event, I would suggest making an appointment. Although prices were increased from $20 to $25, I would argue that the level and quality of service more than justifies the new price. The attention to detail during the cut, the warm towel, the clean up with a straight razor, etc. All excellent. I work in Seattle, however, that hasnt stopped me from recommending Super Nova even to my co-workers up north. Super Nova has become the only place I go for hair cuts and I dont see that changing any time soon.

Great haircut and the price was reasonable, problem is trying to get in, Im a truck driver and never really know when Im gonna be off work so making appointments just doesnt work for me, that and Ive never really made "appointments" to get my hair cut, its something I do on my way home from work and their location/parking are kinda inconvenient, spent 20 minutes trying to find parking just to get told "were going to lunch in a few, but you can come back at 2:30" thats the only reason I didnt give em 5 stars, but if youve got the time for an appointment or can sit and wait as a walk-in then its a great place to go.

Ive only been here once, but I really enjoyed the experience. The barber was quick, proficient, and I dig my cut. The fresh, clean design of the shop provides a relaxing environment. Plus, the complementary coffee is really good, mainly because it was fresh brewed and they use the locally-roasted Valhalla beans. I almost didnt go because of ALL CAPS (one of the raters, below), but when I noticed they dont do tattoos here (one thing the guy complained about) I figured the guy must be crazy or have beef with the owner. Either way, Im glad he didnt dissuade me, because it was a great experience and Im going back.

Rob is FANTASTIC. When I first moved to Tacoma from the East Coast I was in dire need of a great haircut to get myself interview presentable. I explained to Rob what I needed and he took care of the rest. The man is a pro, what else needs to be said? Not only did I get the job but Rob remembered me, developed a connection with me, asked me how I did at the job interview. In the past 8 months I havent even thought of going anywhere else. Guys: If you read this review and dont schedule an appointment with Rob you are crazy - there is a 100% chance you will never go anywhere else again.

First and Last Time!! Customer!! Called because I heard it was a good place as a First Time Customer I thought they would make an exception so they can have a Loyal Customer but it seemed like they didnt Care!! And didnt really try to figure something out so Ill take my business somewhere else where they put the customer comes First and they were Rude and Uninviting Dont need that.

Best haircut Ive had in FIVE years. We moved here about 2.5 years ago and Ive tried several other barbers, but I wont be trying any more. The price is slightly higher than I paid at a couple of the cheaper shops but Id pay double for this kind of quality and detail. I even had 4 or 5 compliments on it in the first 24 hours and I cant remember the last time I got one.

I go here regularly and every time I do its a great experience. The staff is always friendly and kind. They know what theyre doing, Ive never had a bad haircut from here. The price is reasonable for a barber shop. They sell great product. I love the strait razor shave and edging. Very clean, knowledgeable, skillful, professional, and good atmosphere.

I like this barber shop, but it is way to tuff to even get into. The last 5 times I called to schedule they had nothing. Ive only been once and sadly it looks like thats the only time they had open. Sometimes it feels like they dont even want to schedule me, almost like Im bothering them even asking. Sucks....

Really enjoy this place. I want to hate on the pricing, but Im generally pretty stoked with the cut and the person cutting my hair, so I suppose I really shouldnt complain for something I do every 6-8 weeks. Mondays are walk-ins only, otherwise I will usually use their website to schedule out a day or two.

Ok at giving basic haircuts but way overpriced. Some barbers are brand new and have no idea how to give complex fades. Asked a man if he could give me a low taper fade and he said he didnt know how to do that so I settled for an uneven haircut for 40 dollars wtf. Highly recommend DJ tabers over supernova

SuperNova has some of the best stylists in town, and this barber shop is awesome! Every time I go there I leave happy. I WILL NOT go anywhere else. I take my 6 yr. son to get his cut here as well. Im glad my hair grows fast because I look forward to go see Rob and the great people of SuperNova.

Overpriced for their level of effort, they are ill tempered and judgmental. They will do as little as possible to get you on your way, i never leave feeling like it was money well spent , i only tip to be polite beacause i know they would either be rude or mess it up on purpose next time.

This barbershop rocks! After scouring the area to try and find a decent barber, I finally found one. Mac was my barber and did an amazing job and took the time out to educate me a bit on maintaining my new beard. Ill definitely be back!

Ive been reluctant to let anyone trim my beard for years now. I walked in and they all hed beards. I felt safe. I dont have much hair on top of my head but they did an awesome job with both the hair cut and beard trim. I will return.

This is a great old school barbershop and Rob is the man! I bring my 7 year old son here and he loves it (I also get a traditional hot lather shave which is great). Plus were else can you get a haircut while listening to propagandhi?

Amazing little joint! Very cheap price for the quality they provide! Best fade I have ever gotten. Also the staff is super friendly so its not awkward while youre getting a cut. Definitely where I will get my haircuts from now on.

I made an appointment for my dad and husband for the works. They got there and the lady didnt even know how to do a flat top. Then the shave wasnt even good and missed spots. Then to top it off the shave a haircut was $66

Ive been coming to Supernova for four months and will keep going back as long as I live in Tacoma. The guys are all excellent, friendly barbers and in high demand. So, book your appointment as early as you can.
