I thought that some of the reviews about this post office may have been a little harsh; however, they are truly accurate. Today was my first time ever at this facility to pick up a package. I stood in line and one clerk asked me to step out if I was going to pick up a package. She took my form and then when I proceeded to pay for the postage via debit card, she instructed me to get back in line because she only dealt with cash. I lost my place in line and before you knew it, there were 25-30 people behind me with only ONE clerk on the counter. ONE Clerk during lunch time? Really? A senior citizen behind me, said that he would come back next week after he waited for 20 minutes. The clerk at the counter seemed to be confused. First it was with a zip code of a customer trying to ship a package to AZ. (yeah she spoke loud enough for everyone to hear) The machine kept changing the output data from the input data. (So that was a problem.) Next customer and then the clerk calls for a supervisor to help clear her machine, because she could not make the transaction. Long story short....there seems to be a lack of effort to move people through the process in a timely and professional manner at this location. I will give them a pass today, because it was Monday and they probably had mail from Saturday, Sunday and today to screen and get out. However, if it happens again during the middle of the week, then I will write another review in-depth about the service of this location.

The customer service at this Post Office is horrendous! Always long lines with only 1 worker, 2 at best, to serve customers. There is one dark-haired, female worker (Monica) in particular who is always short and rude to customers, like we are asking too much for her to do her job...always banging her fingers on the computer touch screen, and slamming stuff around. Like, seriously? Who peed in her cornflakes EVERY morning? Really want to give her a piece of my mind. One day I came in a few minutes before closing, and seeing I had a box in my hand, she yells across the counter, "Were closed!" Like waiting on one more person would inconvenience her. I try to avoid having her wait on me at all costs. The other workers are decent in their interactions. I only deal with this PO because its close. Thats the ONLY thing it has going for it. Trying to contact the PO by phone is an effort in futility...rings on and on like theres no one there, like trying to communicate into a black hole. At least my mail carrier is competent and nice!

I have been to this location numerous times, not because it is closest, but because of the extended hours on a Saturday. One day when I was there, the lines were long and one of the clerks commented to me that she hadnt gotten her break. She was tired and hungry. The next Saturday that I went, I took some dinner rolls that I had just made for all of the clerks. It was amazing how easy it was to bring a smile and to make them feel appreciated for their long days, helping one tired- of- waiting customer after another. A little kindness goes a long way. (I am not trying to brag, just give a gentle reminder..... I have been short with associates at stores too...Its easier to vent than to be kind but much more rewarding the to choose kindness.

Should have checked reviews before I attempted to do business here. Since there were no more boxes of the size I needed in the lobby, I took my package to the window and was met with an audible sigh. The woman did go back and check for more, which she told me there were no more. I said ok, what would you suggest I do? I dont know, she says, I guess you could take it to UPS and have it wrapped and bring it back to us. Oh, and she had no idea when they would get more boxes, as if that was a ridiculous question. The attitude and visible annoyance on her face about my situation wasnt necessary. I get that working for the postal service is a stressful job, but lord if basic customer service is such a chore, go work somewhere else!

It is apparent that postal service employees have an overwhelming task and that noteworthy customer service often goes unappreciated or unrecognized. Today, I discussed a serious matter with a supervisor in the Martinsburg, WV office and her response was quick and appropriate. I frequently visit the main post office and it is true that the lines are often back to the door; however, the clerks are to be commended for the courtesy they extend to even their most frustrated customers. The problems the public experiences with the US Postal Service are not caused by its employees, the employees are doing the best they can with the support and resources provided.

Often takes a long time to get service, staff is uncoordinated. They have an amusing sign in the back that says something along the lines of: "UPS Says: "The U.S. Post Office wouldnt last a day on an open and free market." PROVE THEM WRONG EVERYDAY!" The only thing theyre proving is how bad giving an organization a monopoly on first class mail delivery is. I cant believe theyve deluded themselves to thinking that theyre competing in a free and open market while threatening competitors with violence if they try and deliver first class mail. Theyre about as great as a government restaurant.

One visit and three phone calls as instructed, and I still dont have an appointment to submit a passport application. I was promised a return call within a "few minutes" last time. It has not come. Trying to call in is a long tedious process with 20-30 minute waits announced for two of three calls. No wonder UPS and FedEx are taking over. Sad day for what was up to the past ten years one of the best services ever. I feel sorry for the personnel trying to do what is needed and not able to.

I cant stand this post office! They mix up mail all the time. They give neighbors our mail, and we often get the neighbors mail. Ive complained on several occasions and nothing has been done to correct the problem. They also dont deliver mail in a timely fashion, and Im talking about regular mail! Sometimes we wait an entire week and a half for one envelope to arrive when it usually only takes a few days! This is insane! My next step is to contact Consumer Affairs.
