I called to invite the Eau Claire Printing Company to donate a small number of printed posters for the upcoming 10th Annual Juneteenth Celebration, which commemorates the ending of slavery in the U.S., and the gentleman who answered went off on a anger-centered rant about how they routinely support the community with donations and very rarely, if ever, receive any business from the surrounding Eau Claire area. His tone immediatly became hostile and I attempted numerous times to leave a message for the owner, Sue. I reaffirmed to him that their support would help support diversity in Eau Claire, and also provide visible exposure at City Council meetings. His demeanor quickly became confrontational and he no longer allowed me to speak.
