The first time I went there was two weeks ago and the father did my haircut it was ok, I was happy with the cut. On Sunday I went in for a shape up and the father was busy and the son was not there. The other guy was there (did not get a name) I asked for a shape up square in front and round in the back. He did not listen I had to repeat myself several times. He messed up my hair line and all he said was "whoops". I was furious but instead of blasting the barber shop I gave it a few days to calm down. I thought I found a barber in Chandler but I was wrong! I will be returning to Franks in Tempe at the Arizona Mills. My two visits to five star barbershop was like night and day. The father and son was warm inviting with small talk. This dude was cold and inattentive. He made me feel like I was bothering him. Fact of the matter is that was my last time this establishment.

I typically go to Floyds to get my haircut. However, I always like to save money and one of my friends told me that Five Star is cheaper, so I decided to try it. Not only are they cheaper, they are way better! Ellie did an amazing job cutting my hair and trimming my beard. He was quick and precise. He used a straight razor for my neck (front and back). I had some razor burn which is to be expected when your skin is not used to a straight razor, but a minimal amount. The only thing I disliked is that I did not find out it was cash only until half way through, luckily I had cash so that was no worry but I think they should have a sign up or something to inform the customer. Overall, I will always recommend Five Star, amazing barbershop, they deserve five stars!

Got a cut for me and my 4 year old nephew a few weeks back. The owner took care of us. My nephew is not a fan of haircuts as he doesnt like loud noises. The owner made quick work of his hair, kept my nephew entertained, was understanding of his sensitivity to sound, and did a great cut too! I hopped in the chair myself, and he gave me a nice medium fade in under 10 minutes that looked great too!. The place was clean, the cut was slightly more expensive than my usual barber shop, but no complaints about the quality or service.

I almost dont want to leave this review, so that I can keep this place to myself. Israel gave me my haircut today and it is just amazing. Hands down the best haircut I have gotten in a very long time. It was my first time going in and Israel made me feel like one of his regulars right away. Obviously being from New York, he gave off a very city like vibe. It felt like I was in the Big City getting my hair done. I will definitely be going back for every haircut from here on out. Im very happy to have found MY barber shop!!!

I found this place by my house and figured they were pretty cocky to actually call the place 5 star, but, I was hoping to find a place that knows how to do a flat top. I had one years ago and liked it but when the guy that had been cutting it retired, I never could find a place that could do it correctly. This guy killed it. He obviously has a lot of experience doing flat tops. Ive been here twice and am going now for my 3rd visit and will be coming back until I move or he retires.

Israel is from New York City, is a bit rough with clippers, left hair all over my face and shoes, and gave me a couple cuts from a straight razor neck fade because he does everything so fast. Nice guys, but expect a little bit of pain if you see Israel. Power massager for 30 seconds, a couple hot towels, shop is cash-only and ATM charges a $3 fee, and I paid a total of $30 for a quick cut and beard trim (not including the ATM fee). Average shop, will try to find better nearby.

I brought in my 12 year old son and the barber treated him like an important customer. The barber made very good conversation with him. Besides giving him a great haircut, the barber gave him a hot towel and a massage. He loved both of it. He has never had a hot towel or massage or been treated so nice by any other barber. Other barbers usually sees a kid and thinks let me hurry up with him and get him out of here. So I definitely would recommend bringing your kids here.

Had a great haircut by Nathan but things with south as I was going to pay. No debit/credit card so was charged $3 to use their ATM. What business is cash only?? Was under the impression that beard trimming was complimentary for first time customers. It is not. With the ATM fee/trimming charge, it was an extra $17 for what would have been a $16 haircut. It was a good haircut but left extremely sour afterwards. Pretty shady and not a barbershop I trust.

Wow this place is awesome, and the guys there are manly friggin men. Elli is a young guy, but dang does he give a nice cut! Hes been doing this since he was 13, so its no wonder hes so good. He even shaved my neck with a straight edge, and then ended my visit with a hot towel and power massage! (Say whaaaat?????!!) Most importantly, I look like a million bucks after coming in to Five Star!

Excellent skills with mens cuts. I hadnt got cut in at least six months and went in looking like a cave man, Nathan killed it with an awesome skin fade to undercut. Trusted him with a hefty beard trim, as some of you may know, not everyone can do and theres a huge possibility of getting rekt, but he killed it. I have a new shop I know I can go get lookin sharp!

This is as good as it gets for mens grooming. Quick service, very friendly, affordable, and a great result. Clean facility and is very inviting. I was greeted right away and shown to a seat and received a hair cut and a beard trim. Very comfortable service. I could never do as good of a job by myself. I will definitely be back!

Pricing was ok but very disappointed in the hair cut I received. I showed a picture of how I wanted my hair to look like and he did it the way he wanted it to look. Cut way too much hair off when I had ask to leave enough to style. Felt that he was rushing and just trying to get it done. Will not be going here again.

Just went in for a beard trim and shave. The guy was in a big hurry, didnt put shaving cream on my face and gave me razor burn. He also trimmed my beard way too short and the shave wasnt very close. He was upset that I didnt want a haircut with it. Glad Im from out of town so I dont ever have to come back.

Five Star Barbershop does five star work. Ive had my hair cut by three people at this shop, and they all do a great job. Its $16 for a haircut and they do the hot towel, the massage machine, and they touch up with a razor. I definitely recommend them if you want a quality haircut at a reasonable price.
