Beware...this school DOES NOT have a true Pre-K program! Youll find your Pre-K child will be mixed with 3 year olds and be left to play all day long with little to no structure. Poor leadership, unorganized, great teachers, great price, etc means 2 stars. If you want to learn of my experience, please keep reading: My young 5 year old barely made the age cutoff for Kinder in a public school setting. Unfortunately, only after a few weeks, we saw that he simply want mature enough so we pulled him. We looking for a private institution that had a Pre-K program and ultimately settled on Sunrise Preschools in Glendale AZ. Before signing him up I did my due diligence in asking questions, taking their tour, meeting the teachers, etc. The staff seemed competent, teachers were nice, facility was okay, they offered me a discount because of where I worked, so I signed him up! What a good deal right? Well, after being there for about 1.5 months, Im fed up and left asking "What Pre-K program?!?". After multiple discussions with the teachers and parents, the Sunrise Preschools Pre-K program is nonexistent. The only true structured event Ive been able to identify is reading time on a rug and centers...thats it! Plus its not even close to the structure of a Pre-K program because their class is polluted by 3-year olds! How can a 5 year old be expected to mature when hes in a play only environment? I will say that THE TEACHERS ARE GREAT! Theyre patient with my son and are trying to do their job. However the teachers are restricted by their short-sighted director. The director doesnt allow structured learning because "theres no evidence that book work helps a young mind to develop". She continues by saying "We focus on developing their fine motor skills and other key development items which naturally make them ready for Kinder.". Naturally? Really? Seriously? I feel that if I leave my son stays at Sunrise Preschools, hell be entering Kinder with 5-6 year olds knowing only how to play at a 3 year old level! I dont agree with the Montessori methodology and expect they adequately prepare my son for the structure of Kinder in a public school environment. All of the above plus a conference with a family friend of mine settled it. This family friend has a Masters in Speech Language Pathology and 35+ years of experience in the development of young minds. She said find another school ASAP because Sunrise Preschools dont know what theyre doing. IMHO, Sunrise Preschools could be a fantastic place for older kids to mature, but, theyre only set up for younger children up to 3 years old. After that, youre best to move on to a more structured institution.

My son has been attending Sunrise on 59th ave and beardsley. Leaving him in daycare was sooo tough for me, but everyone there made the transition so much easier. Miss Dawn is absolutely amazing, you can tell she really loves all the kids. My son is always happy when I pick him and he is learning a lot from the interactive games and the other kids. I can go to work much easier knowing he is being loved and taken care of where he is. I would recommend Sunrise to anyone!

My son joined Sunrise on Mohawk Lane when he was 1 year old, he is now 4. I have not had any issues. The teachers have all been very caring. They have been very supportive through my sons rebel toddler stages and helped him with his potty training. He knows how to count to 10 and sings his ABCs.

I am a fan of this daycare. I shopped around at a few other places before choosing Surise. When I walked in they were helpfull and provided all the info asked for. They adore my lil girl here and are always so friendly. Mrs Cierra and Shayanne are the best.

The worst day care ever. They lie about the ratio of kids to teachers. My has been bit six times in a few months and it was unprovoked. And they cant clean the kids. There are bugs crawling on the floor.
