I have several issues with this place. 1) The price per hour. The business quotes $97 per hour, but their definition of an hour is really 50 minutes. You cant advertise quotes per hour if you really mean 50 minutes. This is deceptive pricing. Those 10 minutes per hour really do add up: for example if you purchase a 30 session plan for $2918 you are expecting 30 hours since their quotes are per hour. You are really getting 25 hours for $2918 (subtract out 30 sessions times 10 minutes or 300 minutes - 300 minutes is 5 hours). At that rate the training is really $116 per hour ($2918 / 25 hours). 2) Private should mean private. None of my private sessions were private. In fact, I had to wait for different types of music to finish (for other folks also training) to be able to practice my type of dance. This cuts into my training time as well as others when they are waiting on my music to finish. If you are paying $97 per 50 minutes you should have the instructors full undivided attention. 3) The private dance lessons are pricey. In fact, they are debating raising the rate. I dont care about their sales pitch of "we havent raised the rates in 20 years." No one cares about this statement. It is a lame sales pitch - all anyone cares about is how much the training is going to cost. In fact, the business is debating raising the rates another $15 to $20 - so the effective cost would be $131 to $136 per hour. 4) Finally, the last issue I have is not having the ability to pay in payments. I am not going to pay in full (especially when you are talking about $3000) - there is always the risk of a business closing and then the burden becomes mine in regards to getting any refunds owed. I do like the instructors, but they have still lost my business for the above reasons. There are plenty of dance studios/instructors around so I am going to continue on elsewhere (at a cheaper rate). Businesses fail because they dont listen to what the customers say. From what I have read this business seems to be very defensive in their responses - instead they should be focused on what customers are saying and trying to truly resolve issues or they will find their selves out of business like so many others. I write this comment because I fully expect a rebuttal.

Ever since my senior prom had a live swing band, I have always wanted to learn how to swing dance. I also love my country music and wanted to pick up how to two step. New years came and I decided to add something new to my life. That was taking dance lessons for the first time. I was definitely one of those guys who just swayed back and forth or did some random cheese night club move with my group of friends. After going to Dance FX for almost a year, I am proud to say I have picked up a new hobby thanks to the care and attention that the staff provides. From the owner down to the trainees, you can tell they love to dance and even the most experienced of instructors are always looking to grow in not only their teaching but in their knowledge of what is fun to do while dancing. I have had the pleasure of dancing with almost all of the female instructors, and are great at helping you develop a style within a dance that fits what you will find fun. Once I started to advance on, I began to dance with the senior staff. Whether it was Adam/Nicole (owners of the studios), or Rachel (10 + year instructor), they are able to step back and show you new moves while strengthening your technique. Nicole is not only an amazing owner, but she is great at accommodating your needs and interests in dancing. She can sit back and watch you dance with a stand in and point out different moves that would flow better for you while teaching you how to really make everything come together so you can go out and impress. If you are looking for a dance school that has a lot of fun, does social gatherings to practice dancing in a night out atmosphere this is definitely the place for you!

Trial lesson: It was fine, just learned the steps and the class was $25. Beginners class: $69/lesson 5 lesson each one is an hour long. When I signed up for the beginners class, I had to call them three times because they kept getting my schedule wrong. Very frustrating. Their customer service is very poor. Secondly, these are not one hour classes. I would get there late, wait while they were wrapping up another lesson then get my lesson. I would then be done before the end of the hour. They seemed unorganized and very pushy with their lessons. I only wanted to learn two of the dances, yet when I told them they were very persistent that I learn them all. Finally they gave up and agreed. Beware, they only teach you a few moves and once you learn those and have finished before 5 lessons then they will not teach you anymore than that. I had two different teachers for these lessons and when they didnt know what they would do next they would try to small talk with you. Im not paying for someone to ask me 20 questions. Another complaint is that they will not let you see your schedule before you pay them! I had a schedule that i gave them and all they said was that they would work with it. They didnt budge unless the had money. Also they say their prices are the best in town, they are competitive but not the best. Also the advanced classes are $97/lesson. I asked why it was worth $97/lesson and they said it was because they were teaching you to dance, no duh sherlock. Its not good that they couldnt explain why they are worth $97/hour. Pros: Good way to throw away money. Cons: Unorganized. Greedy. Less than 1 hour lessons.

I worked with Dance FX through the months of November and December in reference to their marketing and assisted with securing over $4000 worth of donations as well as getting all the food donated. I worked for 10 hours the day of the event and ran errands and picked up the donations in good faith. I gave her cost for two banners that I had designed and requested payment from that today. Mind you I under charged her for the event to work on doing additional business. Here is the email I received back. This sums up Nicoles attitude for sure. I would not recommend them to anyone. Hi Nicole, I had sent you the invoice to pay for the step and repeat banner directly to the vendor which was a cost of $150.00. I just received a statement from them saying that this has yet to be paid. Please remit payment either to me or the vendor ASAP. RESPONSE from Nicole: Youre too funny! How about you take the $150 out of the money I paid you in December for doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for my company to pay this. I NEVER approved $150 for the step and repeat banner as you know. While youre at it, you can send me back the $350 for the remainder of the money I paid you in December that you did not earn. How does this sound? Also, you may come and pick up your banner holders by this Saturday as they are taking up storage space in my studio. Otherwise, they will be tossed. Have a great day!
