This company is completely unprofessional. I after my daughter attended for a few months I decided since she wasnt learning, to pull her out of class. The Studio called and said I still owed tuition for the month, even though she never attended class. The studio called me less than 3 weeks after the end of the month to inform me that they were sending the account to collections! When I explained that my daughter wasnt in class the previous month, they told me she was marked on their roll as present at 2 of the classes. I double checked my calendar and told them she had a Choir concert one night and was sick the other and thus, did not attend. The secretary said she checked with the teacher and she swore she remembered my daughter being there. I find it hard to believe that a teacher with dozens of students would remember, for certain, whether a certain girl was in class on a specific day, at a specific time nearly 6 weeks earlier! It would be IMPOSSIBLE to say! The owner called me back saying she was, "sorry I just didnt want to pay my bill, but that I still owe the tuition." She then said if they didnt have payment in 10 days that it was going to collections and that on the registration application I filled out and signed, it said I would pay all collections fees should my account ever go to collections. When I tried to explain that I could obtain proof she wasnt there, the owner just started talking over me and wouldnt let me get a word in! I got mad and hung up on her. The next day I got her Choir director to sign a statement swearing my daughter was at the choir concert the day of the class she was marked present for at dance. I then had the statement notarized! I also called the school and had them print a letter, on District Letterhead and signed by the attendance secretary, that my daughter was marked absent on the second day she was marked present at dance, and it was Medically excused due to a doctors note I provided the school. The studio didnt care and in fact wouldnt even listen to me! I decided to pay the stupid $40 just to be done with the whole thing because Im sure the cost and time involved in fighting with collections wasnt worth my time.

My daughter has danced at The Dance Academy for 6 years. I appreciate that they really focus on proper technique, qualified instructors, age appropriate routines, and modest costumes. I also love that they provide an environment that fosters great self esteem & builds friendships. We have never felt like just another number at The Dance Academy.
