My experience with the dance program here was average. I was looking for another place to dance in Conway that would keep me dancing through high school but would also help me to improve. Though I have appreciated and remembered some of the main instructor, Michelles (she has now seperated from Sonshine and moved to open her own studio), corrections, she did not place me in the appropriate level (too easy) and concentrated way too hard on perfecting the dances for the Christmas performance and annual recital, though she claimed we were working on technique through performing the dances (this got even less challenging once the dance was finished and all we did was run and perfect it. Nothing new was learned except, perhaps, that I needed to work on my stamina). This studio succeeded in keeping me dancing but seriously lacked with furthering my development (this being said, I am a serious dancer who constantly strives to improve, if you are a dancer who simply wants to keep dancing, this studio is for you. It is the best studio in Conway that covers all disciplines of dance pretty thoroughly, though I strongly suggest looking at Blackbird Academy of Arts of Central Arkansas Ballet if your child is looking for a nearby and strong ballet program). The students however were the nicest students Ive ever encountered in Conway studios, which was a plus. I also like their new Acro for Dancers class, though the instuctor is not very personable or sympathetic with the students (he is a UCA student himself) and, if you are a high school dancer like I was when I attended this studio, will catch on a lot faster and be forced to wait for the other, much younger dancers to learn the acro trick. I will not ever be returning to this studio.

We have been a part of Sonshine Academy since my girls, now ages 6 and 8, were in the Mommy and Me gymnastics classes. Theyve participated in pre-K gymnastics, cheernastics, Sports Fitness/Motion Evolution, ballet/tap, swimming lessons, and parents night outs. They are now involved in the cheer-leading squads and LOVE it for many reasons. The coaches and teachers love for children is expressed in how they coach and interact with all of the children. A definite sense of teamwork and camaraderie is taught and expected from all athletes, which flows over into the parents. The coaches also have a deep knowledge of their chosen sport as well so I am confident in their guidance of my girls. The gym includes a dizzying variety of equipment, specialized to different age groups as well as sports. They are even working to update and expand the gyms to enhance the gym experience. We have had a wonderful experience so far with Sonshine and look forward to many more years as part of the CFAmily! :)

We have had a great experience at Sonshine over the past several years. My oldest son started out behind the curve with his strength and gross motor abilities and they celebrated every milestone on his way to catching up with other children his age with just as much enthusiasm as a star athlete. They provide a myriad of activities for children to develop their gross motor skills from swimming to dancing to trampoline camps. Even though they are a specifically Christian organization which might make some non-Christian families uncomfortable, our experience has been overwhelmingly positive.

Sonshine Academy is great. I have a 19mnth old in the playful parenting class and a 3yr old in the sports fitness class. They both love going to gym each week. The staff is very patient with the kids and they have gone above and beyond to make our experience at the gym a great one. We have done swimming lessons at the pool and even had a birthday party in the jungle gym, which was a hit with all the kids. Our overall experience at the gym has been wonderful!

I love that no matter what level of ability your child can perform, the staff is consistantly encouraging of all children and keep their mental/emotional interests at heart before physical skill development. At the same time, they will focus on developing each childs skills to their fullest potential. It is a very Christian organization. Many appreciate that, but if you are specifically of another religion, you may be concerned about that.

I have a two year old and we started as soon after she turned 18 months as we could in the playful parenting class. We were looking for something for her to be involved to be around other children since she didnt go to daycare. She loves gym class and getting to play on all the equiptment. Its a great environment for her to develop her motor skills.

We have 4 children ages 17 to 7 and they have all taken classes at Sonshine at one time or another. My two boys still take classes and one of them competes on the Mens Gymnastics team. We are so blessed to have a facility this fantastic in our town!

I am very disappointed. There was no ballet class for my daughter who is in the 12th grade. She has taken for 2 years from them and now they dont have a class for her. Its all political there. Ive been told this by others too.

I love that Sonshine picks my child up from her childcare facility and returns her safely every week. It so nice for me not to have to drive her there and back after a long day of work!
