All firefighters and friends of firefighters, you need to check out the sub shop to honor Clifford and his wife for their wonderful contribution to the city of Alameda. Thank you, Clifford. We plan to come back in May to eat there and honor you. A little superfluous information: Clifford’s last name is Chow. He owns a fire themed restaurant. For all of my 25 years and I’m sure, still to this day, when dinner is ready, the call that echoes down the hall of every Alameda fire station is, “Chow!” or “Chow’s on!” Coincidence? I ordered a meatball sub and had to leave to work and as soon as I got to work and try to eat it there was something that was severely wrong with the sub like to meet not being cooked properly. I called in the next day to ask him to fix the order and they refused and then started lecturing me on the merits of Common Sense and told me that I should have left work to bring back in the sub and became argumentative with me on the phone. The customer service here is incredibly poor and I wouldnt suggest this place for anyone to eat.

One Night
Went and bought the smokehouse cheddar brisket. Was a little hesitant about buying it because I dont like meat. But when I ate the smokehouse cheddar brisket. It was amazing. I could say it is the best sandwich I have ever ate. Its also amazing because its smoked for 17 hours +. Will be interested in purchasing another brisket. And the price for this is fantastic. Amazing customer service.

Went to this location for the first time and loved it! The prices are reasonable and they support firefighters! The staff is very attentive, friendly and eager to help. Will definitely come back whenever I need my firehouse fix! The meatball sub is to die for and the little pickle slices! They also have the Coca Cola free style machine that Im obsessed with.

I generally only love cold Pastrami sandwiches because I find heating pastrami makes everything salty. Not so at Firehouse! I really love the New York Steamer.... They must use a better quality meat. They have great fresh bread too. The young people working at Firehouse are refreshingly polite with great social skills, which I find very rare

Sandwiches are really good and filling. I make an effort to try a different sandwich on every visit. So far, no sandwich has disappointed me. The kids meals are a good value, however the specialty subs are a bit pricey. If the prices were a dollar or two cheaper, I would have given 5 stars. Id come again with a coupon.

Love the sandwiches, price, and fun decor. Theres an impressive array of hot sauces to sample with your meal, numbered 1 -10 by spiciness; its fun to give them a try. Be warned their toaster is sometimes extremely squeaky and the friendly employees seem deaf to the annoyance.
