This is the best club/gym in the Bay Area. Ive tried several others and this is easily the standout of the crowd. Good range of classes, people are friendly, theres a shopping mall and Safeway nearby which is handy, good Cross Fit option for those wanting more than just a standard "box". Ive tried a range of CF in the past and Steve runs a clean well thought out program. Nice diverse range of members, no heavy wait time on machines and top notch equipment, esp in the free weight area. Theres a nice small subsection just for women upstairs and the indoor pool is the highlight for those who need the water for ease on the joint or for those recovering from surgery/injury. For those with kids, theres daycare and a kids swim training center next door ( AquaTech) Ive met the owner a few times, Kathy, and I think shes done a great job of keeping a small locally owned business on the cutting edge. Sometimes it can be tough to find parking during peak times, but other than that, its worth it. Any investment in your health is really an investment in your own long term well being.

I have been a member for years and cant say enough about this club. The new womens locker room is Great! There is a steam room, sauna and whirlpool just for women. The new lockers are beautiful and plentiful and they even have someone that just works to keep the locker room clean at all times. There are an abundance of classes offered and it is set up so you can join in with others to accomplish your fitness goals or go it alone with plenty of equipment. I really enjoy the staff, they are friendly and helpful, it is like a neighborhood club not a chain. Recently they added a new person in the café, delicious salads and sandwiches, but also she offers art classes! Her art is displayed upstairs and it just adds to the general good feeling and personal club it is. I am so very happy to be a member. If this is what you are looking for I would highly recommend going in, introducing yourself and using a free pass for a workout to see if it is a fit for you!

I joined Mariner Square Athletic Club a month ago so I could swim and use the jacuzzi to help with a serious back problem. The staff member who enrolled me was very helpful. I was underwhelmed by the womens locker room facilities, but guess what! They were soon to open a beautiful remodeled womens shower/spa/locker facility that even has a water extractor for your swimsuit. There is a small jacuzzi that will hold 8 people within the womens locker room so one need not suit up. I cant speak to the exercise equipment because I am not well enough to use it. The big pool is old but serviceable. The main jacuzzis water is hot enough and the jets are powerful. I took the cheaper membership at $60 a month because I can come in during the day before 4PM. That mostly works.

Mariner Square is an amazing facility! I sell my coconut oil based skincare line in their lobby once a month. The members and staff are always friendly. I love to swim in the indoor pool- so much natural light and not too heavily chlorinated. Tons of free classes with membership. The locker rooms have steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs and free towel service. Its definitely a five-star club.

Ive been member of many gyms across the U.S. and I love this one for the diversity of activities, classes, and offerings they present. The locker room is big and spacious and whether its 6am or 6pm, Ive never had an issue waiting for a shower or getting a locker. I joined mostly because of its Crossfit box, which is very well equipped and superbly staffed by the coolest trainers ever.

This is a great club, but more expensive than some. They have an olympic size pool with a large hot tub and a second floor viewing area. There are showers, hot tubs, steam rooms and sauna in each locker room. Several different workout rooms and studios, racket ball courts, and a snack bar. The parking lot is large and the building is handicap accessible.

Yoga instructor Lin was verbally abusive to me in class. I had to ask her politely to please remove her hands from my body. I was making accommodations required by my physical therapist and my block was turned the wrong way so she had a fit demanding I leave the class. Entirely aggressive and inappropriate. Worst yoga teacher ever.

This is a nice family gym. Offers a lot from Racquetball to Pilates. Good weight and aerobic rooms with strong dumbbell rack and ample weights. Multiple squat racks, benches and hammer-strength. Friendly staff and low key strong members. Indoor pool too.
