I had some minor work done on my car recently, (I have a 2 door coupe and both door handles broke off - which was a total drag!), and found Gilman Collision Repair on Google. I called in to get a rough estimate and spoke with Alex. I was extremely pleased with his customer service - very polite, professional, and friendly - which is a HUGE deal breaker for me. If theyre not great on the phone, how much better will they be in person, right? Craig helped me with everything when I took my car in. He was also super friendly, professional, and polite. In the past when I would have work done on my car I would leave feeling like I was getting scammed one way or another, but I didnt get that vibe at all from this company...Craig actually gave me a discount on the labor which was very appreciated! Before taking my car in, I called around a few other local repair shops, as well as dealerships, and Gilman Collision Repair, by far, offered the best price. Aside from the great customer service, they provided excellent quality work, and a clean, friendly environment. They are also locally owned and Im all for supporting our local shops. In all, I would definitely recommend them and, if needed, will for sure be doing business with them in the future.

This is the best auto repair place Iver ever known. Not only that, but the people there will do everything to help you out. I had work done there on my Camry a few years back--excellent job, good price--so when my husbands handicap van got its 10th scrape, I decided it was time to revisit. I drove it to Gilman Collision and asked for an estimate, thinking Id need to replace both bumpers. I explained that we just wanted the van to look more presentable and we didnt want to put a lot of money into repair since handicap vans get dinged often. Well, Gary, the owner (I think), went around the car, noting the problems, and then he called one of his workers over, who was holding a can of some kind of oily solution. He had the man go around the car and rub all the dings. It took 15-20 minutes, and then Gary said, "Can you live with this?" Many of the dings had disappeared entirely, and yes, I could live with the ones that remained. Gary said that life is hard enough without having to pay for needless work, and he sent me on my way without charging me a penny. His kindness took my breath away.

Took my car in after my partner hit a pole and mashed the right fender. I replace the fender myself and got bids for the painting. Gilman was not the least expensive bid but the shop was clean and professional and the guy that provided an estimate was knowledeable and thorough. They did a great job and turned it around in 2 days. I had a few minor issues which they resolved immediately without question. The only reason I gave them a 4 star instead of 5 is that I felt the paint color could have been matched better. In fairness they wanted to blend the hood but I didnt want to spend the extra money. I highly recommend and would take my car back there but hope I dont have to soon!

I just got my car back today. I have a 2002 jetta. I had problem with my front bumper. It doesnt stay on tight and is missing some parts to fix it on my car. I brought my car in in the morning and my car is done around 4pm. The shop is very clean and the people who work there are very nice. They asked me if I want to repaint my front bumper. After I got the estimated price, I said no and they didnt say anything else. The best thing about the shop is that they provide pick up and drop off services. I didnt need to ask other people for help and they pick me up at my door. It was a great experience and I would recommend this shop.

I was rear-ended recently and had to get my bumper replaced. My insurance agent gave me a list of repair shops and I chose this one simply because it was closest to me. Im very glad I did! Its an independent store, owned and managed by Craig. Enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly, he took great care of me. He called often to give me progress updates, and managed all the paperwork with the insurance company for me. I hope I never have cause to use their services again, but Id return without hesitation.

Ive now dealt with Craig and his crew both in a professional and personal capacity. His company does terrific work! You get your vehicle back washed and the interior vaccumed! Now thats what I call going the extra mile.The best body shop in the Bay Area!
