I am happy with the results of our kitchen; I was NOT happy with the remodel process. The contractor that is used by Son Cabinetry is 1st Atrium and you are presented with 2 separate contracts when finalizing your kitchen design with Son. Be very clear about what is the responsibility of Son Cabinetry and what 1st Atriums. We were constantly going back and forth between the managers of these companies verifying who was responsible for the errors during our remodel. 1st Atriums work crew was constantly left unsupervised at our home and job quality and errors had to be constantly reported to the contractor via phone as he was almost never present at the work site. His crew of laborers used our own new ladder and left it covered in drywall & plaster, packed our trash can full of demolition & drywall material and left in the middle of the kitchen. I came in during the remodel several times to find all doors open and air conditioning blasting. There was a hole through the drywall where tile was missing behind the stove vent; this had to be repaired twice because the first repair was sticking a piece of tile that broke the pattern into the hole. This would have remained after the first repair if I had said nothing as1st Atriums owner (contractor) had not been to the site after multiple complaints. The countertop in the kitchen was poorly fastened with some plywood and few nails and the glue was not applied evenly so the counter corners are not secure and it creaks and wobbles (we will be ripping this back up and refastening ourselves). If you need floor tiles replaced please be informed that it is considered your responsibility to find replacement tiles. 1st Atrium as a contractor does not do this and after being charged be an additional fee for locating tiles, the ones they picked up did not match. I went to the tile stores in Cathedral City and it took me 45 minutes to find a match after going back and forth with 1st Atrium (they are contractors?). I also stated multiple time during the design that the countertops should have a lip that extended over the sink edge. After I came home to find the countertop installed and no lip, I was only offered a "sorry about that" explanation. I wanted to tell them to come rip it up and replace it, but I would then have to interact with Son Cabinetry even more. By the end of the project I just wanted Son Cabinetry and 1st Atrium out of my home. On the upside, the kitchen looks good and the cabinet quality is great for the price. Just be aware that if you want it finished properly, you will need to supervise the project as both of these companies are lax in there supervisory and project ownership skills.

And if that wasnt enough, two years later when we decided to redo the laundry to match and add an entertainment unit, they were there for us again - patient - guiding and making great suggestions. We mentioned when we were placing the order that our soft close kitchen drawers didnt seem to be as soft closing as the bathroom drawers - they took it on themselves to change out all the mechanisms on the drawers when they came to install the laundry - at no charge! And always, there is a phone call a day or two later to be sure we are happy. My husbands favorite part - they always clean up after themselves. Thanks Son Cabinetry - you are absolutely on our preferred vendor list for life.

We moved to Palm Desert in June 2010 and the house we purchased needed a major remodel. We talked to many different contractors and the bids we received were all over the place. We decided to try one more place - Son Cabinetry & Design. The design process was smooth and our cabinets are beautiful and they were delivered and installed on schedule. We received excellent customer service throughout the entire process. They were great to work with as well as being very responsive to any questions/concerns that came up. We also worked with 1st Atrium and the work they performed was outstanding. The owner of 1st Atrium has a great crew. They were left alone at the house many days, but we were also home and witnessed the caliber of their work in process. The remodel included four bathrooms, complete new kitchen from the ground up, 8 foot interior doors, custom cove ceilings throughout the house and repainting the interior. I would not hesitate to recommend Son Cabinetry and 1st Atrium, and I have on numerous occasions.

I was very disappointed in the lack of customer service. I felt after the receiving of our payment of the cabinets and the factory not able to accomodate our order for 30 days. It seems they lost focus and interests. I also got the feeling from the company personnel and their attitude youre on your own. They didnt really want to deal with the problems. Having dealt with professional cabinet makers and having built new homes the cabinets our built to your specfic specifications. The custom cabinet makers ask all the right questions pertaining to electric plugs and trim etc. These items should have all been caught while designing the cabinetry for our home.There were items and doors that had to be replaced and trim packages that should have dealt with during the planning and should not have been at any extra costs to us later. We did have other cabinetry that we would of order from them but have decided we can go to another companies that will give us better customer services and better follow through.

We had an excellent experience with Son Cabinetry & Design. Our designer, Morraika Simonds of An Interior Motive Designs, and Rosario, Sons designer, worked together to create a functional and beautiful space. Rosario really listened to our needs when it came to storage space, work spaces, and access to the sink and cooktop. The resulting design works well for one cook or two. The cabinets, in the Zebrano finish, give the kitchen a sleek contemporary look and add a textural dimension to the room. Son handled the cabinet installation and finish work (trim, handles, etc.) and did an excellent job of coordinating their work with my general contractor. Many thanks to Son for helping us to achieve our dream kitchen.

We just redid our kitchen and bathrooms (3) with Son Cabinetry. They were very professional and very easy to work with. Suzzette, Rosario and Matt helped redesign my kitchen with new cabinets and counters and refaced my bathroom cabinets and installed new counters. The kitchen is beautiful, the cabinets are very well made and finished and the bathroom cabinets look brand new. They did a wonderful job, we are very pleased with how everything turned out. I would highly recommend Son Cabinetry to all of my friends!
