9/13/2011 We recently worked with R. Harris to create a custom media cabinet for our family room in our new house. The experience and results were outstanding, one of the best experiences weve had with custom work of any kind! I highly recommend their work. A few things that made R. Harris stand out - The finished cabinets are gorgeous! The care and craftsmanship are obvious and the stain color is a perfect complement to our wood floors. - We always felt Ray was genuinely interested in helping us come up with a design that we would love. He provided helpful, experienced, professional advice throughout the process. - There was no nickel and diming. The price didnt change when we made minor changes, such as adding two lights to the top of the cabinet. - You can tell the team at R. Harris loves their work. They show you samples with pride. They ask questions. They talk about their work with energy. Theyre out on the factory floor, not hold-up in their offices. Theyre meticulous when it comes to the details. - Delivery was on time - actually they were ready about a week early. Installation was smooth, they were respectful of our house, and everything was in order when they left. - They followed up to see if there was anything that wasnt done to our satisfaction AFTER they received payment. Were extremely happy we decided to go with R. Harris. Well go back for more.

I met Ray through his wife a few years ago to have my custom cabinets built. The sales presentation was great and he displayed a high level of confidence in his product. The custom cabinetry was delivered promptly and installed The workmanship of the cabinets were great. The biggest problem that I had and continue to have was the finish on the cabinets. Within a few months of having the cabinets I inform Ray that the stain was coming off with very little use. I remove several of the doors took them to the shop to have them re-stained and he made an attempt to try to match the original stain color but was unsuccessful. After several conversations with Ray he finally came out to the home acknowledge there was a problem, but continue to defer the problem to the way we were operating in our kitchen. At this point we are stuck with cabinets that need to be refinished. After spending $12,000 on a custom cabinetry my expectations were that there would be a higher level of concern and commitment to service after sales. I have yet to ever write a review on any company because I am self employed also. I felt compelled to do this and I would welcome Ray response

I found R. Harris & Co Custom Cabinetry from their rave reviews on line. While visiting their showroom and place of production, I was immediately impressed with the quality of their custom cabinets. Donalee and Ray helped my husband and I design a wall unit that will serve as an entertainment center and a place to display art pieces and books. We appreciated their knowledge, confidence and supportive manner. The finished product is a beautiful addition to our home. It came in at the reasonable price they quoted us. I am very thankful to have found this business that is built on experience, professionalism and integrity. I will also follow Donalees interior design furniture. She has a unique eye for contemporary style. Visiting their showroom is a fun way to spend a morning/afternoon out. Thank you Ray and Donalee.

We had selected R Harris Custom Cabinets to build us a master bathroom maple vanity based on both the positive online reviews the company received, as well as the fact that it is San Diego based and provides jobs for the local community. Unfortunately, R Harris failed to meet the obligations specified in the contract. Not only did they take over three months (July – October) to complete the project, we needed to request a color correction too. To top it off, the final product had ten drawers assembled by simply nailing the pieces together, instead of the dovetail finish promised. Definitely not worth the almost $4,000 investment for a product advertised as fine craftsmanship. We are perplexed by the lack of honesty, and should you choose to work with them, be alert.

Purchased cabinets for a bathroom vanity here. Got their value line in Walnut. Looks great and is of all wood construction. No particle board in their value line at all. Forget going to Home Depot. This place is worth the wait for the craftsmanship. We had a non standard design for the with of our bathroom vanity and couldnt get anything to work for us at regular stores. Going to a manufacturer they sell in 3" increments in size. So 2 27" sink bases and a 15" drawer cabinet fit perfectly in our 69.5" opening. Cabinet is now fully installed and couldnt be happier with the look and function of the bathroom. Went with a marble slab from Tosca Natural Stone, which was recommended to me by this business.

Visiting R Harris & Co was a pleasant surprise. On my way to finalize the purchase of my living room furniture at another store, I inadvertently drove down Kurtz (somewhat lost). I saw the shop, and took it as a sign to take a peak. Working with Gabby was amazing, and we were hugging by the end of the afternoon! Needless to say, my purchase plans changed, and I couldnt be happier with the pieces selected. Solid mahogany, with impressively unique design styles; my new house is now adorned with beautiful, custom-built effects. If youre looking to step out of the chain-store furniture realm, please stop in R Harris & Co, and ask for Gabby. Will keep coming back for more!!

6/9/2011 When we decided to have our vanity custom designed we were told by several happy clients that Ray at R Harris made the most beautiful custom cabinets. We contacted Ray and he drew up the design that I wanted and added his own personal touch. Which was better then I could have ever come up with on my own! He did such an amazing job that not only are we telling everyone to call Ray at R Harris, we had him custom design our walk in closet and our entertainment center. The custom design is drooled over by our family and friends. You need to look no further then Ray at R Harris.

I am a general contractor in San Diego with residential remodel clients. I have been taking all of my cabinet work to R. Harris for 2 1/2 years now. Ray and Donalee are truly artists and have a knack for the business of cabinet making. Everything gets delivered on time and I have yet to come by any blemish or sub-standard quality issue on any one of the pieces of cabinetry or furniture that I have ordered. Their shop and showroom is a must see if you are searching for cabinets or are a contractor looking for a quality custom cabinet maker.

What a superb job. After agonizing over the selection of contractors, builders, cabinet makers, we turned to our neighborhood friends. This choice could not have been better. The job took about 5-6 months to complete, from scratch. The cabinet quality is truly unmatched. Weve even received accolades from other contractors, etc. Look no further, Ray is the one to give you a truly unique and stunning kitchen! And after all was said and done, were still good friends!
