At the time of booking with PODS, I asked to go ahead and schedule a pick up time along with the drop off. They scheduled to drop off of the pod, but not the pick up. I had a hunch that might have happened. I called back. Sure enough, they didnt. No big deal. I caught the error. Then, drop off. Drop off wasnt in the window, but at least the driver called me ahead of time to let me know, so I agreed to it. I was able to make arrangements. So fine, not whats agreed upon, but whatever. (By the way, I later found out that you better be around all day, because they are not required to show up in that window. I dont know why give you a window if they arent going to use it. Then they came to pick up the pod. They didnt call my number. They called my husband, which I told them he has been having phone issues and specifically that they were to call my number, the number on the account. The call center first said that I was right that they didnt call me. Then later it changed to "oh they did call you". I got no call. I can prove it on my phone bill and no voicemail. Also said he had no access to the gate. He would have come at rush hour for people going to work. People were constantly going in and out of the gate. There was not NO access. So the driver left. So after NOT making a good faith effort to pick up my POD, They have said that it will take another two days before they can come out again. I explained that this was really unacceptable and puts us in a terrible situation. They didnt care. So, my stuff will sit in 100 degree heat for two days unless I load and unload. So much for climate control... They refused to take any responsibility and were only willing to give me $50 off after I spent forever with them on the phone. Dont tell me they couldnt do something about this situation. The fact is that they dont want to or have to. I asked if they could just come pick up my pod. They said they could, but that I would be stuck with the regardless. I dont know if they are aware the short fuse on which people have to move or not, but this is totally unacceptable. We need dependability. They may have a staffing problem, but that shouldnt be the customers problem. So much for a name brand you can trust. Dont do it. So update, I cooled down and I thought ok... maybe everything is ok. Maybe they will do a better job in the future now that they are really messing up on this order. Today is the day before they are supposed to pick up again. I got no phone call to tell me my window. So am I supposed to sit on the curb all day? The answer is probably yes since they wont call or come within the assigned window they tell you even if they do come. So maybe if you have all day to sit around from 6:45 AM to the wee hours of the night, then PODS might not be a bad choice for you.

Drivers were nice and professional. Website is full of nonsense, and was difficult to navigate. Customer Service representatives lack all the tools and flexibility to help customers and would not forward your call to someone who could really help you (I talked to a Resolution Representative, and he could not help me neither). They are very strict in terms of pick up time. I felt that they could care less of my situation or potential issues with the city. Unfortunately I got a 2 day permit from the city, and I asked PODS days in advance to please pick up the container as late as possible. THEY COULD NOT GUARANTEE THAT AND NO ONE IN THE COMPANY COULD DO IT, except the Storage Facility Manager. They showed up at 11, and didnt even call me or email me the day before to notify me the time they would pick up, as they told me they would, AND THAT NOTIFICATION WASNT EVEN A GUARANTEE THAT THEY WOULD PICK UP AT THE TIME THEY WOULD SAY THEY PICK UP. NOBODY WAS ABLE TO HELP ME. And all of them referenced the STORAGE MANAGER (who is this POWERFUL person?!?!?!?). I was not even able to talk to the storage manager, no one would forward my call to this manger, and IT WAS NOT A GUARANTEE THAT HE/SHE WOULD HELP ME AT ALL. Prices are good, and they do their job, but if you have a special situation, and you are in a budget, you will have to pay, of course. I was EXTREMELY UNSATISFIED with this situation and added UNNECESSARY STRESS to the moving process. At the end of the day this problem really changed the positive experienced I had throughout the time I had been dealing with them.

These guys are OK if you are a big company used to dealing with national franchise-type management, but my experience with them was very poor. I requested delivery of my storage POD in the morning and it didnt arrive until nearly 5PM. By that time all my volunteer friends/movers had to leave and I was in trouble moving all my supplies and equipment into the POD before dark. When I called the customer service number asking for an updated delivery time they couldnt help me==they had no clue where the delivery truck was or when it would arrive! At the other end of the deal they charge me another $ 100.00 to pick it up which agreed to ahead of time but then I found out that I also gave up all rights to rebate on unearned rent. I returned the POD about 1 week after paying them for a full months rent but the contract has a clause stating that they get to keep three weeks worth of rent they did not earn! These guys are not a friendly local business but rather a big national franchise who have procedures and policies in place to maximize their profit and serving their customers is a secondary consideration. Overall, I won;t be using these people again.

I will never recommend this company to my worst enemy!!! Its disgraceful how you treat your customers!!! I used PODS to move me from NY to California and they messed up from day one. Fast forward my pod was supposed to be delivered to my California apartment on January 22nd its now January 28th and until this afternoon PODS didnt know where my container was!!!! Countless hours spent on the phone with this company, being put on hold for 45min at a time and not 1 representative could give me an answer on where my pod was and not 1 representative followed up with me after promising to do so. Im now living in an empty apartment for the last 7 days because this company doesnt know its ass from its elbow!!!! I WANT MY CONTAINER!!!!!!!!! These containers dont have tracking numbers on them so its impossible to track them & apparently they have another outside company who transports your pod which isnt mentioned to you. And lets not forget to mention PODS Is pulling money out of peoples accounts after they already paid. This company is a nightmare!!!!!stay away!!!!!!

October 2014 -- I used a 16 POD to store a bunch of stuff at curbside while getting work done to my home. They did everything well, courteously and professionally. The POD unit did everything I needed it to perfectly. All services including billing were done in a timely manner. I used it for about four weeks. It was very easy to use; and my transactions were all straightforward and handled without a hitch (pun intended). I highly recommend both the "portable temporary storage" solution, in general, for anyone who needs to get stuff out of the way for weeks or a couple of months, and PODS in particular, as an organization to use for the purpose. I did not do any "comparison" shopping. NOTE that I dont know how PODS compares to others who might offer this type of service.
