Schumacher Cargo Logistics was subcontracted by Tevel Logistics who I contracted with to move door-to-door from Tel Aviv to San Diego. Tevel packed up & sent my shipment, & contracted Schumacher to deal with customs on the U.S. end & do final delivery. When my shipment arrived in the U.S., I was told that customs had required additional inspections, which would cause a delay and additional costs. I understand this happens, it is (probably) not Schumachers fault. I was told by my shipping coordinator Tim Gallardo that it would be $285 in customs fees & other related "small additional fees." Schumacher billed me for $976. When I tried to speak with both Tim Gallardo & his manager Nik Nikoukar about this unfair charge I was held hostage & told that "either [I] pay the $976 or [theyll] hold my shipment & start charging [me] storage." So I paid it, what choice did I have? ...but did they deliver my shipment as promised? No. At first they didnt tell me there was a problem, they just said theyd call me with a delivery date. When that didnt happen. I called over & over again, trying to get the date in question to no avail. When I finally demanded they deliver it, I found out that my shipment was being held hostage for the second time, they told me there was an "accounting hold," (with no further explenation available) & to call Tevel Logistics to work it out. So I did, I called Tevel multiple times. Every time they said everything was fine, that Schumacher must have a mistake in their paperwork, & that they would contact them to work it out. Schumacher refused to tell me anything other than "accounting hold," when I demanded answers I was told by Nik Nikoukar that "[they] dont work for me," (since they were subcontracted by Tevel) despite the fact that Id already paid them almost $1000. For 2 months I spent hours trying to get an honest answer from them on the phone, & emailing back & forth with them. In the end I had to go to the BBB & threaten legal action, then I got the answer that Schumacher claims that Tevel never paid them (I dont know whether this is true or not, & given that every other thing theyve told me has been a lie, I have my doubts), & only when I demanded they let me know how much Tevel owed them so I could contest the original credit card charge to Tevel & use that money to pay them (which I didnt have to do in the end), did they finally deliver my shipment, months late, & after tons of stress & hours if not days of my time wasted. If they werent paid by Tevel, thats bad business on Tevels end. It still doesnt justify the other ripoffs or me being held hostage twice. Or how rude they were to me. Or my time that they wasted by refusing to give me a strait answer. Or the amount of stress they caused me. Or the fact that my shipment was 2 months late (when I did everything right). Or the fact that I was forced into the middle of their inter-company dispute. Or why "small fees," is >$600...

I bought a 1970 Chevelle in Richmond, Indiana, and wanted to take it over to Germany. As this car means a lot to me, I needed a shipping partner that gets things done right. I have never done business with SCL before but had an other company take care of this job in the past. I was very pleased with the job SCL did and my experiences in the past encouraged this impression. Personnally, I dealt with Mr. Mager who has never been bugged by my countless inquiries and E-mails. He offered reasoned advice when needed, and he is a very professional and friendly sales manager. Whenever I decide to get a car from the U.S. again, he will be the person I contact for the shipping part. I could not make it to take the car to the SCL-drop off myself but had SCL get it from the seller (Richmond - NYC). As soon as they got hold of the car, they sent me a note and, not long after, a protocol with numerous photographs to state the condition of the vehicle when they got it. Very good job. They used paper covers in order to keep the carpets clean, plastic seat- AND steering wheel-covers. Thats what I call appreciation and accurate work. The only negative thing about the deal was that the car sat in NYC for about 2 weeks before it got on the ship. I think, this may be done a little faster. But anyway, the car sat in a warehouse and not in the rain. The actual shipping didnt take long, just as the handling and custom clearance in the Netherlands. Their partner in Rotterdam, MCH, is a good choice, too. Every thing worked out really good. Thank you for your business. From my experience, I would recommend SCL to anyone who needs a shipping partner.

I strongly advise against using this company service. Used them in 2015. Everything went fine in the beginning. Good customer service, advisible agent and everything was smoothly prepared. The chaos began when the car was shipped. They totaly lost control of the shipment. Car was shipped to different port then agreed with a big delay and all additional costs were passed to me. Changing port destination resulted in - higher port costs - additional documentation cost (T1 documents) - additional transportation fees by land to another country - delay in time - documents lost for a couple of days - lots of stress After changing the port destination they did not even have a reliable company to take care of the transport. They changed it after realizing it will cost them a little bit more money. This resulted in documents being stucked. The documents deliver was delayed because of Schumacher poor and cheap handling which resulted in again me having to cover additional costs. I had to chase the transpor vendors by myself and track my car documents to find out that they sent it with regular cheap mail... The car delivery to customs needed to be delayed thenas I needed to get the documents first... Car secure parking costs for a couple of days were passed to me again. Car delivery took them 3 months in total. After many complains they agreed to cover some of the additional costs but NEVER DID just ignored my further complains. Amateur handling. After the car is shipped they do not care anymore and will only think about reducing their costs at the expense of the client. Marek Wrzosek

Summary: Great shippers. 8-10 weeks from LA to Sydney, very responsive and timely communication. Always willing to keep customer happy. We recently immigrated from LA (USA) to Sydney (Australia). Had many options for shipping, I was about to go with XYZ shipper, when I found Schumacher Cargo online and spoke to with Mark. Being Aussie himself he was knowledgeable with the customs and Quarantine process. That 1 phone call made me change my mind. I confirmed with SCL. They were not the least expensive, but were very competitive and provided door-to-door. Most of all, I felt like I was in good hands. Over time their assistance and responsiveness to my queries and requests confirmed that I was. The pick-up, packaging at my house was quick, professional. Edwin next took up my case and followed up with updates on warehouse receipt, updated quote (which was close to my initial estimate). bill of lading, destination delivery company, ship details and when it docked in Sydney. Pamela from the A/c Receivable was great to work with as well. There was a minor change I wanted made in my account summary. She helped me out pretty quick. Easy breezy! From then on the local shipper has been in touch with me and Im waiting for my goods now. I know its been through quarantine (AQIS). Its probably finishing Customs now.
