My son attended the Goddard school for six months and I can honestly say this school is a big sham. When you first tour its definitely a high pressure sales pitch with huge smiles and false promises. Although the facility is new and beautiful, some of the teachers and especially the owner (shadiest woman Ive ever met) are horrible. I concur with the previous review that describes the school. (I have heard from other parents that the owner actually begged parents to start writing good reviews to counter the poor one because she unsuccessfully tried to get it removed!) Fact: the owner DOES bring in random temp employees to care for your children. So dont think your child will always have the same teacher. You wont be notified and one day youll walk in to find a stranger with a name tag with a dazed look trying to figure out the classroom. Why would a parent pay the highest childcare fees in all of Folsom to have a temp employee stranger looking after their child? And since this person is a temp, theyre clearly not trained on the "Goddard" curriculum so again why would a parent pay top dollar? Very disturbing. And speaking of fees, a parent that still has their child attend informed me that now they are charging a ridiculous registration and sunscreen fee (and hounding parents for it)?? How much sunscreen can three year old use? Parents were given LESS than 30 days notice of this fee and a lot of parents are fed up. And $5 pizza day? Again, how does a three year old eat $5 worth of Little Caesars pizza (which is the whole pizza!)? Now lets talk about the teachers. Most have the minimum ECE units (four classes) to care for children and turnover IS HIGH. So again, your children will not really bond or have stability with anyone because the teachers are constantly changing. Only one teacher per class has a degree, which is fine but just dont be fooled that all do. Honestly, Im not sure how some of these teachers even made it past the interview as they are so low energy and unenthusiastic with the children. Oh yes, because they were interviewed by the owner who has ZERO background in childcare/development and herself cant even be in the rooms as a teacher. To be fair, there are a couple of teachers that are outstanding, but they move around so often that its a treat when you get a good one. Do yourself a favour, look around Folsom there are many childcare options that are A LOT less expensive and where your children are TRULY educated and loved because at this school it is ALL about the bottom line for the owner. This is a true review - not one coerced by the owner just to make her look good. REVISION: Notice the owner does not dispute the use of temp minimum wage employees! And no, parents are NOT notified that a temp random person will be in your childs classroom. ALSO - GLENN SAVARD IS OWNERS UNCLE!!! HIS REVIEW IS NOT REAL. HE LIVES IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND NEVER HAD A "TODDLER" AT THE GODDARD FOLSOM! More proof that the owner is not to be trusted and has no ethics. Go ahead Google him and Magda Savard.

Im a stay at home mom who was looking for part time care for my toddler. The academic structure and teaching philosophy was one of my top priorities. Again, putting my daughter in "school" is a luxury since I can easily just be at home with her. Given this, I was extremely picky during my search for the proper setting for her. I investigated around 15 different options and narrowed it down to four schools. After touring all of them (extensively) I was certain that The Goddard School was the best option, by far. Its a new school in Folsom (there are over 400 across the country though) and the environment is FANTASTIC! Immaculate and inviting doesnt come close to doing it justice. The playgrounds (there are two) absolutely blew away any of the other playgrounds that I saw during my other tours. As for the staff - the owner, Kaylee, and Director, Nancy, are TOP NOTCH. Seriously. My daughter adores them and they take time out of their busy day to spend time with her. My daughters teacher, Sara, is warm and genuinely excited to develop the kids skills. Not only does my daughter get hugs the second she walks in but I do too! I love that it feels like shes with family when shes away from me. The icing on the cake though is that I feel like they truly care for my daughter. For example, there are days when I drop her off that she starts to cry. This is common for little ones just starting in a new environment. They make sure that she gets extra attention until she feels comfortable. Many times that has meant that Kaylee or Nancy themselves are in my daughters room playing with her or taking her for a walk to visit other rooms. I couldnt be happier with the choice to send my daughter to The Goddard School in Folsom.

The school has had a very large turnover, it hasnt been open for a year. They have Temp service employees a lot they are charging you for a convenience and perks that they will not be able to accommodate. The school now has its second Director and they havent been open for 12 months, for the money its going to cost you, I would get a nanny. Most of the employees there are looking for a different job because they are over worked and paid wages only becoming of an educated fool. So I am sorry I have nothing positive to say about the Goddard school. Thank you for your response but I stick with my review if I had more hands Id give you more thumbs down and my review is from the inside not the outside looking in you have no ECE background and it shows. I have seen one of your teachers (Kristina) treat a child in a manner that is not appropriate. The teachers act one way while the parents are there and another way, when they are not. Lets face it you are in your office worrying about filling up a school that needs a lot more thanks for saying how you feel. PARENTS DONT PUT YOUR CHILDREN IN A SCHOOL WITH TEACHERS WHO ARE NOT EMPATHETIC. A OWNER WHO HAS NO IDEA WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A PARENT. I WORKED IN THE SCHOOL AND I WOULD NEVER BRING MY BABY IN A CLASS WHERE THE INFANTS SCREAM ALL DAY BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT GETTING THE PROPER CARE YOU THINK THEY ARE. KAYLEE PLEASE LOOK AT YOURSELF AND MAKE YOUR SCHOOL A BETTER PLACE FOR THE WORLD. BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT A PARENT YOU WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND HOW HARD IT IS TO LEAVE YOUR CHILDREN WITH STRANGERS. IN A SCHOOL WHO CHARGES YOU FOR EVERYTHING.

This school is a sham. I had my child enrolled in this school and it was the biggest mistake I have ever made. The owner will sweet talk you and tell you what she thinks you want to hear but everything out of her mouth is a lie. Dont fall for it. Kaylee (owner) can not keep teachers and has constant turnover which is not good for young children. She hires substitutes from a temp agency. These subs are inconsistent and the only thing consistent about them is that they are always being used. They have no clue about the program and are seriously a warm body in the classroom to met regulations. A family that had their child in my childs class was fed food he was allergic to. Im talking about life threatening allergies. So serious that he has epi-pens for these allergies. The owner and her parents (co-owners) do not care about the children or their staff and it shows in how they run the school, the decisions they make, and how they treat people. Money is what matters to them. Money is so important to them that they count out 5 pretzels as a snack for a child and if that child is still hungry then "oh well thats all they get". They are only willing to provide the minimum required so they can pocket the rest. I could seriously go on and on about the expierence my child and family had there. If you love your child and want them in the best hands possible while your away then DO NOT enroll your precious child at this school.
