Having the funeral here at the Chapel of Chimes is the most horrible experience for my family! I am not a person who is apt to complain and in fact in my 58 years of life I have never complained publicly but the horrendous anguish brought on by our experience at Chapel of the Chimes is to difficult not to denounce publicly. My father-in-law just lost her wife of 65 years to a stroke. She was supposed to be buried yesterday at 11 am July 15th, 2017. All arrangements were fully paid for. Relatives who came to bid their final good bye to my mother-in-law came from the Philippines, drive from Oregon, Orange county , CA, San Diego, Sacramento. I myself flew from LA to attend the funeral. My mother-in-law was not buried! Her plot was flooded. The Funeral Manager said either there was a leaking water pipe or a clogged drain. I saw the water level as being 6 inches high. He said they were draining the water but we could see there was no drainage pipe. I couldnt believe they could manufacture such an excuse. It took only 2 hours to drain water from my pool which is 6 feet deep using hoses from Home Depot. They said they would do a "mock burial" wherein the coffin would not be lowered to the ground. The priest who performed the last rites never even heard of such a term. Two hours of indignant waiting resulted in no change of the water level. I would suppose that the entire Fatima area burial lots are all flooded. Even if they lowered the coffin later on in the day or the next day what assurance would we have that another busted pipe or a clogged drainage wouldnt happen again. My mother-in-laws coffin had to be placed back inside the mortuary pending proposed resolution to this problem by the owner. Up to now the owner, nor anybody in management has contacted us about their proposed resolution to this matter. Nobody bothered to offer a solution. Meanwhile, my father-in-law who is already grieving unconsolably has had no closure. It is anguish on top of anguish. The family who devoted their, time, energy and resources to arrange all of this who are at the point of exhaustion not only have to suffer immense grief at the loss of their mother now have to deal with anger as well. Relatives who took an unpaid vacation leave, drove for hours , spent money on hotel accommodation came for nothing and no closure, and we are expected to accept rote apologies and stupid excuses? What was supposed to be a beautiful and memorable occasion turned into unimaginable bitterness and seething anger. No grieving family need to suffer this and experience this indignity. Now, family has to redo the funeral rites and reschedule another burial ceremony. Meanwhile , my mother-in-laws last rites remain in limbo, her body unburied and my father-in-laws grief not only prolonged but multiplied tenfold. All of these are grounds for legal recourse but even if we did, let me be clear that no amount of financial compensation would be equal nor come close to alleviating this much pain, suffering and anguish suffered by the entire Ramirez family. I hope to God this ordeal never has to happen again, nor happen to any grieving family. Update July 22, 2017 We would like to acknowledge the efforts of Mr. Dave Salove for his swift actions in rectifying the Ramirez familys ordeal/ faux pas. My mother-in-law got buried today in a solemn ceremony, the plot was upgraded with no additional cost, funeral expenses were reimbursed, the staff will get retrained so that this will never happen to any grieving family and Mr. Dave Salove was there to supervise it all. Chapel of Chimes redeemed itself today. This is the kind of business that is run by honorable men. The kind of business that would last because they do what is right! I would upgrade my rating to 4 stars just for the effort and sincerity and honorable gestures.

Mixed emotions...my son was buried there 14 years ago. It went very smoothly as it was done by a young man whose name was Gino. Unfortunately Gino passed away 6 months later. My moms funeral was done so poorly. It was 3 years ago and I cannot recall the guys name. The man who made the arrangements for us was rude and did not appear to know what he was doing. He just handed us a paper for the dollar amount for all 6 of us kids and my dad to look at while he stepped out. He didnt even say what it was for. He didnt have the memory cards ready at the service...so many things went wrong due to Chapel of The Chimes. I went to the top. I was also promised by the Manager, I think his name was Harry, that because of the problems we had we could pick out any memorial items for each: my dad, us 6 kids and my nephew that she basically helped raise. He said whenever I was ready to come in, even if I had gone to Things Remembered for it, and they would pay for each item. When I was ready and had chosen items, I went to talk to him and OF COURSE he had left and there was a new Manager and nobody knew anything about it so they would not take care of the promise. Best thing about Chapel of the Chimes...Nancy! If I ever had to do this again she would be the only one I would deal with. Otherwise...they dont keep promises and are still doing nightmare for the family arrangements.

My families experience with Chapel of the Chimes goes back thirty plus years. I have no words to describe how amazing Julia and the rest of the grounds people have been over the years. Gale Lighthall is another first class member of the company and is an exceptional person to help you through what most will agree is one of the hardest things you will ever need to do. With this said I could only give three stars because as good as the above people are one person can really stain the efforts of a whole company. This person is Clayton Amundson. He made a very hard time much worse by trying to cheat our family out of every dime he could by putting his commission as a top priority. It is a shame a comapny like Chapel of the Chimes needs to employ such a used car salesman to accomplish their financial goals.

If most of our family wasnt there I would stop using them. We paid an enormous amount of money and they put us in some back shack called mission chapel. The viewing was at night and the road to it was dark and unlit..people turned away because they did not know where to go. We were guaranteed video usage and had to fight to get it because it was not working, the floor had gum stuck all over it and was dirty..they are behind the times and if you are unhappy, they just refuse to take your calls anymore. At a time when you pay for a service to help make things easier..we found ourselves in constant turmoil and ineffeciency..VERY UNHAPPY WITH THEM...THEY ADDED A HUGE AMOUNT OF EXTRA STRESS

They dropped the ball on my Dads service. The Priest Chapel of Chimes appointed did not show up. The Assistance that was there did not know what to do let alone how to work the projector. My guest and I ran the show. Even thou everything was paid in full and in advance. It took months to be reconciled with a partial refund. Then took over 3 months for my Dads lettering to be put on. Lettering was not even put on straight. Very devastating. For the money you pay for funeral and this is what they specialize in you would think they were more organized.
