This is a long review, so I will give a cliff notes here. If you go to this salon and you like your stylist, I am happy for you and I would ask why you are read this, if for some reason you are shopping for a new stylist, I would urge you to look elsewhere. Now while I am sure there are talented individuals at this salon, I didnt have the pleasure of meeting or seeing any of them during my visit. The salon seems to have a very large population of employees and what I later learned is a somewhat high turn over rate of stylists. This has to mean something, now on to my experience for those with 15min to read. Medusa salon puts on a nice front, they offer beer, champagne and other refreshments. The location is convenient to PCH but has a very small corner which makes finding parking challenging. The staff attempts to keep this image but often fails short. I was referred to medusa years ago and always had a reliable colour and stylist so I never went. Then the unthinkable happened, I was in the market for a new stylist. I called medusa and tried to make an appointment, this should have been my first sign, but obvious hindsight is truly 20/20. After a few "tag your it" phone calls I was able to narrow down a potential stylist. Now, I stressed to the receptionist "the stylist" for my needs was more important then an appointment time, but medusa wanted to book a time and then pick an available stylist. After a few moments of odd conversation, I selected a time and was told who was available, sign number two. I showed up and meet my stylist, I was sat and waited for them to finish a previous client, which gave me the chance to look around and take in the medusa experience. I didnt want to judge a book by its cover, but this should have been done. The inside of the retail space is not well kept and starting to feel out-dated, the abundance of flat screens allows for you to view the movie of the hour on any screen of your choice. I was placed in the colour room, a "special" room designed with no mirrors so the customer can be "surprised" when the colour is finished, sign number three. After meeting my stylist, I described what I wanted and asked for it to be repeated to me so I knew there was no confusion. Everything was agreed and the process began. Average time later, I arose from the sink head bowl and was shocked, oh sorry, surprised by my hair transformation. It was an orange hue instead of the agreed platinum. I slept on it and called back early the very next day to make an appointment to fix the tint, I was booked with the 1st time avail and was called shortly after hanging up to be told my new stylist called in sick and i was sent to another stylist. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the staff as they already knew who I was, I was introduced to my new potential savior. After discussing my problem and expressing my concern with the hit that was really a miss with my hair colour, I was told, "no problem, I can adjust it and give you want you really wanted." 45min later I arose again from the well known and yet painful sink to see that my hair is not that much different. yes, it was a lot better in perspective, but it was nowhere near acceptable. Towards the end of my fix visit I was being pushed for an up-sale of additional products to help me cope with my hair colour until it grows out. While I express my disappointment as I left, staff at the salon tried to give me the very same product they were trying to up-sale me. After a very frustrating and daunting experience at medusa, I can honestly say I will firmly warn anyone from trying any stylists at medusa unless they are highly recommended by a friend with the same requirements in vanity service.

I had a very unpleasant experience. My daughter insisted on getting her hair colored and cut here. She waited patiently for 3 weeks to get an appointment. The staff at the salon never made any effort to inform her of the pricing. So when I came to pick her up to pay, I was absolutely shocked to find out that the total was $300! Her hair stylist actually had the audacity to say that she gave her a discount. Her hair color is not even as light as she wanted it to be. They actually want her to come in again for another procedure and pay more. They have a professional obligation to discuss pricing with clients, especially young ones who can easily be taken advantage of. Be sure to establish cost before any procedure otherwise you may be taken advantage of like we were.

woo! once again, sharri and theresa worked their magic! i left medusa looking (and feeling) like a foxy 70s vixen! the color and blowout are incredible! so excited to walk into the weekend knowing i wont have to do anything to the do! thanks medusa! i have to get my hair colored every 3-4 weeks and its always a wonderful experience. not only are the color and cut supremely perfect and on-point, but the entire team treats me like family. i never have an empty glass, everyone says hi, theres great music - such a wonderful place to relax - and be energized - all at the same time. you will never be disappointed @medusa. a very talented and dedicated group of hair gurus!

Regina has been my stylist for 7 years. I have ALWAYS walked away feeling beautiful with my hair exactly what I wanted even when I didnt realize it. I willingly admit that I am extremely picky and obsessed with how my hair looks and feels. As the daughter of a hair stylist whos mom owned a salon I tend to be even pickier then the average customer. The business environment is so open and friendly, they are always professional and never push products on you. Ive recommended this business to everyone I know.

Love the Medusa Team and the whole vibe of the salon, it is very welcoming. The front desk staff are awesome and they have a text reminder system to confirm your appointment a couple of days before which is helpful. I have been coming here for over four years and have got to know a number of the stylists, they are all great at hair and they support each other. I love that they will recommend new colors, styles and techniques.

If Brianna has an opening in her schedule, TAKE IT. Shes never failed to give me the exact cut/color I wanted (and Im incredibly picky). She is incredibly knowledgeable in what she does, so its easy to trust her. The salon is beautiful, and clean. I will drive from Ladera Ranch to Huntington Beach without a problem to get my hair cut/colored here.

Had not been to a salon in two years. Was very nervous. When I called they gave me Christa. She was fantastic. Very personable. My hair looks fantastic. Perfect cut. Nice salon. Very clean and was busy with customers. A good sign. Highly recommend this shop.

This place is Awesome , Mary does a great job cutting my hair and is a happy person. This is fitting for the entire place and. The eyebrow girl does a great job however I just forgot her name. If I have to wait they give me a beer # awesome
