The children are loved and well cared for by the staff. They are excited about learning, and enjoy a wide range of experiential learning & play. They go on nature hikes and do fun gardening. This is a school for outdoorsy kids who dont mind getting their hands (and clothing) dirty! The children learn Spanish, have a weekly Gymsters session, reading time, daily "circle time," and, for the over 3 crowd, they start preparing for Kindergarten by learning letters/numbers/shapes/basic reading prep around specific topics. So, they may have a few weeks where all their learning activity centers around "The Antarctic," or "The Rainforest," or "Transportation." All the activities also focus on concepts of environmentalism, responsibility for earth & nature, and recycling, which is very cool! All of the food (breakfast & lunch are offered) is homemade there and healthy, and often the children help prep the food. (Pizza is my childs favorite to help make.) Delicious soups, pasta, and even vegan options.Over the years, we parents have a lot of say in what the kids eat. Weve stressed organic, which is great! Kids can take naps in the afternoon, or not. The staff is great at helping get your child on a nap schedule, if you are having issues. Also, they are experienced at helping with potty training. Theres a good mix of structured vs. unstructured play. Creativity, cooperation, and caring are values reinforced throughout the day. The year my older child left for Kindergarten, the Kindergarten teacher said of that classs 5 Treehouse grads, "These children are all so well-prepared for Kindergarten! Wow!" There is very little turnover in the main staff. 2 of the teachers have been there for 10 yrs. Our "school Community" is awesome, too. Wonderful parties, First 5 meetings (parent education mtngs), good communication. Years after kids have left, parents/kids all still stay closely connected. The play equipment in the lower playing area is "rundown" looking, but all in working condition and all regularly "okd" by the state licensing board. The rough mountain elements quickly fade even the brand new equipment. While even inside the school does look "worse for wear" or, as one parent-friend there puts it "way too granola," the staff keeps it clean; and ultimately, we parents all get over that hurdle once we see how happy the kids are and how loving the staff is.

I have my 2 ½ year old in the Tree House Preschool and she loves it! If anyone is needing a Preschool/Daycare to take their child full-time or part-time I HIGHLY recommend Tree House! I was a full-time stay at home mom until a few months ago, so I was very concerned with choosing a school that my daughter would feel at home at and just enjoy. I like it because it is very homey, the teachers are kind and loving to my child and the other children, they let your child just have fun, play, explore, and just be themselves and grow! Your child will sing, dance, have gymnastics when able to join in, enjoy homemade pizza once a week, etc… They even plant seeds and your kids gets quite dirty sometimes playing in the sand and dirt and digging up worms, etc… One other thing I love about it is the teachers actually lay down with my toddler and help soothe her to sleep during nap time, just as I always have. Last thing is all three meals are freshly prepared as well as snacks so you don’t have to pack lunches! And this is included in the price. And the price of the school I found to be very affordable, not near as expensive as many preschools out there. The best thing is that my toddler LOVES it! She wants to go there, and asks to go! Just to let you know, they do take babies around 9 months up. They do go all the way to Kindergarten. They have half and full days. I take my child 3 full days a week and that works perfectly for us! They are about 6 minutes from Los Gatos downtown up Hwy 17. If you are in Los Gatos, the mountains of Los Gatos, or Scotts Valley this school would probably be perfect for you. I’m not sure if you are much further if you would be so happy about the drive (although it would be worth a little extra driving!) but it is just 1 minute off of Hwy 17. So if you are looking for a preschool you must check this school out!

My son has been attending Treehouse for two years now. The staff is friendly and loving and always has the time to give me a full report about my childs day. This is a place where they truly get to know your child and to love them like their own. To the negative reviewer: I am sorry you had a negative impression. Had you been able to meet the owner, Maria Gonzales, I know your impression would have been much warmer; she is an amazing woman. While some of the equipment is older and faded I promise it does not negatively impact how the children are cared for. This is a mountain pre-school and the equipment is left outside in the sun for the children to enjoy; a little wear and tear never hurt anyone. I have seen all the toys and equipment cleaned on a regular basis. I should add that one of our favorite aspects of Treehouse is that the staff cooks two meals a day, from scratch, for the children. My child gets fresh food every day. But the greatest testimony is that when I come to get my child at the end of the day, he does not want to leave. He loves Maria and all the staff and other children at Treehouse Pre-school and Daycare. I simply canot say enough about this school. Please visit it for youself. Kirsten Jensen

Both of my children have gone to Treehouse pre-school - my daughter still attends and my son just graduated to Kindergarten. This school is wonderful. Another reviewer said it was a hidden gem and it certainly is. The staff are loving, enthusiastic and organized. The level of educational teaching is excellent, well-rounded and beautifully delivered to the children. My son was completely prepared for kindergarten - already knew numbers, colors, basic math and could write his name. The person who only gave this place one star obviously doesnt know what theyre talking about. Every parent I know who had kids at Treehouse raves about the place. Sure, its a little "rustic" if "rustic" means nestled in the redwoods of the Los Gatos mountains, surrounded by nature. The school is well kept, clean and tidy and means the world to my kids. Thank you Treehouse!
