If I could give negative stars I would. I had a free 2 week pass and came in while I was on winter break from college. I only had 1 1/2 weeks left so this pass was more than enough. However one of the sales associates wouldnt let my GF get a 2 day pass because she is not a Cali. resident. Ok understandable. So I agreed to pay a flat fee of $60 for us both for 1 1/2 weeks to be nice and get the sales team off my back. I was given a deal and told I just had to cancel it before I left. Well I tried and the front desk workers wouldnt let me because I was 15 min. Past the "time frame" to cancel, even though the manager I signed on with just told me to go and cancel it. So I call them the next day to cancel and they say they dont accept cancelations over phone. Fine. I plan to go in later and find out they already charged me for a full membership! I call them again and tell them that wasnt our agreement and they said they would handle it and give me a refund the next billing/refund cycle. I accept that answer and wait till the end of the month. When the end of the month comes, I am charged AGAIN! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!? I call and they said even though my account was canceled I still owe money for my "membership." By now Im livid because as a college student with a part time job I CANNOT afford these ridiculous payments. So I call them again and was told the woman in charge of refunds would call me on Monday. That did NOT happen. Now I have to call again and find out whats going on. Overall they kept charging me and it took 3 months to resolve. I didnt get all my money back but Diego did his best to try to get what I could (whether that was because he was being helpful or got tired of my pestering). This place used to be about the customer service and theyve worked with me in the past...Now they are a money grubbing company with no regard for their patrons. NEVER going to an LA Fitness again.

We went to this gym as we are travelling, we told them our need is to use their facilities for 2 weeks ONLY. They said it’s ok and issued one card for us to login in that 2 weeks. We never received any contract, or document and we gave back the card we used for entry. We paid the fee, and we thought we are fine. Since then LA Fitness has charged us two times some different extra amounts without any reason. It is about 100 dollars for NOTHING. We called them several times, each time they promised to return our money, and it never happened. We are paying with our time, energy and money as we are still travelling now actually calling from a country with 14 hours difference and they still don’t have an email address to send the proof of their deductions, or our complaint, or not even the “right person to talk to”. We are utterly annoyed with this company. And this started about 4 months ago. The good thing is we stopped our bank to allow them to deduct more money from us. On today’s call, the from desk said will stop the membership next month. Next month?? Excuse me! 4 months ago for 2 weeks, fixed term, how the heck do you stop the membership in the next month?? I don’t recommend you to go there because this company is a non-sense. And the facility is not as good at all. People leave things all around the places, and if you have a workout plan, you will cool down until you chase the equipment for the next exercise. I’m fed up with them! Never-ever going again to any LA fitness clubs, and will not recommend to any of my friends! This company is a SCAM with no email addresses in the 21st century. What kind of customer service is this? In the 3rd world countries, they have better services than this company has. Avoid them! And if you already made a bad decision to go there, ask your bank to stop them taking more money out of your pockets.

I joined this club coz it is so close to my work place. At the time when I joined this club, I was a little hesitate since I am not sure if it is a good fit for me since another gym is opening a new facility close by as well. But the sales person give me a good deal and also promised me that I am entitled for " inactive" of the membership if I needed for $10 a month. It addressed my concern that my job needs me travel internationally from time to time. After a year of becoming the member, I had asked to use this "inactive" service. It turns out, 1) They never answer your phone if you try to call them 2) The person called me back are very rude and said LA fitness has the right to revise the contract or service they way they wanted, when I explained to him that they need to send advanced notice if they change the term of contract as bank does. 3) I read a lot of online complaint that LA Fitness has a corporate culture which the customer service and the people work there only care money but the SERVICE, they dont give a damn about the customer except care your monthly payment. Many even experienced problem of constinuous charging on their credit card when they cancel the service. I am hoping my cancellation will not go down that path but I will see. Overall, I think the sales people just promise you anything to get you sign in and after that, you are really left for the mercy of the "good customer service" of the LA fitness. LA fitness really sucks......!

I do have to say be very careful of the sales reps and read your contract closely. I wanted to join the monthly 3 year plan since I knew I needed 3 years worth of gym access, but they ended up charging me the 3 years in full. took it out of my bank account and I didnt realize it till about 5 months down the line. So I sort of saved because I paid for 2 years but im getting 3. Aside from that, the sale person promised me a bunch of favors but when he moved to another location, I got stuck holding my towel in my hand. no favors. Dont rely on your sales guy. So aside from all that I like the GYM. its clean, has raquetball courts, a basketball court, pool and really great machines that work! the free weights they have are nice also. Busy time is always 4-7pm.. i think thats all gyms, but if you go in the mornings or after 7 you have a Gym all to yourself.

The manager Diego is a lier. This place is worse than a hole in the wall business, he told me the fee was 390 for both me and my mom, no contracts. turns out he run my card twice and charged me twice. When I call back demanding an explanation, of course he denied it and told me I signed it, Of course I did, it never occurred to me that he would actually lie to my face, I mean this is a legitimate business, how many of us expect service providers lie and actually pause to read a 3 page document when they tell us "initial here"? They wouldnt even refund my money, if am unhappy they should like any normal business out there. He lied to my face, fortunately for him there are no witnesses and he covered himself like a pro thief/lawyer. DONT TRUST WHAT THEY TELL YOU THEY ARE THIEVES AND UNETHICAL. READ EVERYTHING THREE TIMES!!
