I decided to go with ProTrans as a recommendation from my AAA membership. I have a 98 Infiniti I30 and its never given me any major troubles in all the years Ive had this vehicle. As I was on my way home after visiting friends, my car suddenly gave out on me with a loud bang. I thought I hit something, but didnt. Good thing I wasnt on the freeway either, as I dont think the cars behind me would have stopped in time! I noticed that every thing else was OK - my engine sounded fine, the AC and other electrical functioning normally. The main trouble was that I wasnt able to go forward or reverse. Well, it turned out to be my transmission alright and I knew Id be looking at a major repair. If youre someone like myself who only knows the simple basics of keeping up with your cars maintenance schedule (and normally with the dealership) and not a lot about the nitty gritty ins and outs of all the rest, then this is the place to go to! Especially if you have transmission trouble, because they specialize in that. Coming here, you wont feel hustled into random repairs that may not be necessary either. The communication is great, informing you of where your car service is at during the process. You wont feel small for not knowing the more technical terms/procedures/ etc., or if asking what something is or how and why. They are quick and wont keep your car in the shop longer than norm. If you live locally, they may be able to assist you with a ride to and from home too. ProTrans offers a full service menu. Check out their website for a list of services and call for actual pricing. This is a place Id definitely return to and recommend to my family and friends. Michael, Sam, and Lisa are great! They made me feel like a valued customer and part of their families. ProTrans is a friendly, clean, welcoming environment that includes a waiting room that puts you at ease as though you were at your own home. Or if you are more on the adventurous side and want to venture out while waiting, they are located about 1.5 blocks from the University Town Center (off of Iowa/Univeristy) and can peruse the shops and various eateries there. Im really greatful to have found this service station so close to home!

Just the brief statement if you have no time to read my story: They handled my calls and my mechanical issues in a professional and very honest matter which, its hard to find these days. I do 100% recommend this shop. No matter how far but Im taking my car there from now. My son was involve in an accident and the hood and front end was damaged. The car was leaking and overheated. They could easily add up cost to it (you know what im talking about). He is an student in UC-Riverside. I dont leave in Riverside myself so after calling around and reading reviews I towed the car to Protrans automotive.... My contacts were Samantha and Mike. They diagnosed to check for possible problems then he got back to me with just one issue which was the Radiator and he said he had to do some body work since the Core Support damaged the Radiator and he did that for free of coast and gave me a grate pricing just to change the Radiator and flushing the coolant system. They also tuned the body work just to make it look better for free of charge. After that i asked them to change my break and check for other problems. My car is 2002 an old model Hyundai and again they could easily add other issues. In overall after 30yrs i can say that i genuinely trust these guys words and their works. Do not hesitate to contact them. Try them please.

I had been coming to this place for a while with no complaints although I felt they were a bit overpriced. My first red flag was when they replaced the same axle on my Toyota Corolla twice in less than a year. I brought the car in for a tune-up just before a long and urgent road trip only to have Michael Radek tell me I needed my transmission completely rebuilt or I would certainly be stranded on the road. It struck me as odd that Michael kept urging me to do the $2,500 of work even though it would cost almost more than my car was worth. Even stranger was I had not heard any transmission noises or had any problems shifting gears at all. I took my car to a friends mechanic for a second opinion, telling the guy nothing, just that I wanted him to take a look at the transmission. He found that Protrans had placed the wrong axle in my car causing the transmission leak. The leak and were easily fixed for a few hundred dollars. I am a single woman and I feel that the guys at Protrans tried to play me for a fool. I DO NOT recommend this place. Go elsewhere!

We went here recently in hope for Protrans to fix a leak in our condenser that they had fixed less than a year ago. We we took it in after having to leave it there all day, we were told the leak was caused by a completely different issue. On the estimate they stated we complained the AC was not blowing cold. WRONG. We NEVER stated that. The issue was covered under their warranty and they were trying to get more money out of us. We took our vehicle to another mechanic without mentioning what we had previously repaired. They determined it was a leak from the condenser! We will NEVER do business with Protrans again. We will also report this incident to the Better Business Bureau and to AAA.

They pay for there reviews. To tell yall what happened i took my car in at 9:30 am didnt here any word from them about any kind of diagnosis about my car for 5 hours. The owner talked down to me on the phone and kept cutting me off when i was talking and then tried to act nice when i walked a mile to pick up my car. They over charge for things that are suppose to be free. Also they dont listen to the customer and in there eyes the customer is always wrong from my dealing with them for 5 hours. Dont go there waste of time and potentially money. If i could give them no stars i would

So my car died on the 215 and it just so happened this was the closest car repair shop to my home. I didnt expect much from a place tucked away like it is but I was so wrong. Seeing that they had all on there plate already I dropped my car off for someone to take a look at for a fair price. An hour later I get a call telling me the worst that the car was, D E D, dead. I was about to pay when I was told that I didnt need to pay at all. Wow that was really nice of them. Now Im careless for a bit but they showed so kindness that to try to null the pain, Thank you.

I brought my car in at the end of last summer to have my ac worked on. The owner gave me a price of some $699 to replace the condenser and get it running again. He broke the price down and i noticed the cost of the part was exponentially more than i saw them for sale online. He told me if i got my own condenser he would do the work for the same labor cost. I called today to get an updated price on the labor cost and was informed that they do not install customer supplied parts. I already bought the part! I guess i cant do business with your shop!
