9/26/17 went in today for an estimate, the young lady at the desk (owners daughter) was extremely rude and disrespectful including the owner himself. I simply came in for a very simple repair to my front bumper on my mercedes which was lightly scratched on the left side of the bumper. I was previously a automotive painter and shop manager at Caliber Collision in Los Angeles CA untill I moved here to sacramento. I have sprayed PPG water and solvent, Akzo Nobel Sikkens and Lesonal, and BASF. I own 5 Sata 5000Rp and HVLP guns including the newest SATA 5000RP PHASER and I have the Iwata LPH400 AND SUPERNOVA ENTECH. Im fully aware of all the body shop procedures and regulations. I came in and greeted the young lady at the desk and told her I was here for an estimate and as we were walking out to my car I showed her the damage which was on the left corner of my front bumper and I told her that I wanted the left fender blended as well because I didnt want any type of difference in shade of color. Being a pal tee myself I already know plastic and steel will never be the same EXACT color but this young lady and the owner himself are completely uneducated about Mercedes Benz. I have been painting cars since I was 15 years old and being in LA I have painted multiple Lamborghini Ferraris Mercedes BMW etc. So I am fully aware of the type of material is used on these cars. My fender is made of aluminum which does not hold static electricity like steel, my bumper is made from polyurethane and fiberglass which also doesnt hold static electricity. Static electricity makes the metal metallic flakes stand up differently on platic bumpers and steel fenders and quarter panels so thats the reason why the color will never be exact. These guys dont even have the slightest clue on how to work on exotic cars because if they did they would not deny MY request to have MY fender blended that I was going to pay for. My car is in pristine condition inside and out, I have cut and buffed the entire car without a single swirl. Im one of the best painters in southern California and I bet I can show this shop a thing or 2 and what REAL quality and customer service is all about. Anyways back to what happened, the young lady told me 3 times she was going to give me an estimate to blend the fender because they wouldnt do it. And she also told me 3 times to go to another shop and then without saying anything to me, she completely walks away back to the office. Remind you that I NEVER gave her any attitude, or disrespect or did anything to be treated like that. So I grabbed my 3 other estimates in my car that I literally just got from Kniesals, Caliber and Service kings and went inside to ask for a manager and she says "I am the manager" I replied back and said ok well is the owner available, and the owner came around and said thats my daughter and he gave me the exact rude customer service that his daughter gave me and he asked me to leave. Remind you again, I did not get loud, raise my voice or had an attitude towards either of them. Shops like this should be put out of business for their horrible customer service its sad to see small business owners and their employees treat customers this way. These guys just really disrespected the wrong person, Im going to write a negative review on every website connected to this shop and Im going to contact the local news station and newspaper, and every organization in the auto body industry because of their customer service. Im in total shock with my experience here.
