ALL NAVY AND MARINE BROTHERS AND SISTERS DO NOT USE PODS This is my very first experience using PODS. First, I think the service and concept is great. Having to not move in the typical way of renting a truck is the best. The pods themselves are clean roomy and the price while a bit more expensive, is worth the price to have it on your property to load and unload at your leisure. However, after renting from them for 45 days, its been HELL. The customer service is non-existent. This is a company that in my life experience is either horrible mismanaged, or their philosophy is the same as subscription/membership billing scams. On average you can expect to wait between 20 min and over an hour at any given time of day when calling them. If you do reach them, they are robots: with no interest in helping, just take your credit card and charge charge charge. Ask for a manager, they are conveniently not available. Ask for the corporate office, they hang up on you, or put you on hold and never return. I scheduled my POD to be moved from one POD location to another, they scheduled and it never arrived. Took me a total of 3 hours over the course of 2 days to finally reach them because I cant be on hold longer than an hour because I work. I finally reached them, and they never have an explanation, the robots simply read a script, apologize for everything without knowing what they are apologizing for, and then have one response- do you want to solve the problem, or keep talking? So any effort to appeal to them that a customers time is valuable, and screwing up a transfer and leaving customers to spend hours on the phone should be compensated. They have no respect for customers time, nor do they have any interest in actually acting like humans. Even paid minimum wage the hours of time Ive spent fixing the problems they caused, and trying to reach them a credit or discount of $100 is nothing compared to what I have lost and actually spent due to their error. Keep in mind they are the gate keepers of your property, and they know it. Its a hostage situation and if you cant reach them by phone you dont get your property. You speak to one of their employees with who has bad behavior and they decide to hang up on you, you dont get access to your property. They promise to move your POD on a specific date and they dont? Too bad. As military personnel I can tell you after proving this and informing them of a transfer to the Navy base in SD, they could care less. Why should you be treated any different? Real nice. So, PODS is a great concept that I would use again if I have no other options but now that I will be canceling my POD unit I have discovered other companies that offer this exact service U-HAUL is one I am going with and they treat military personnel with respect and appreciation. Its not easy, but Ive learned that getting angry at companies that operate with this type of bad culture and devalue customers and military personnel is pointless. The power is where we spend our money. When the money stops coming in is when they will get the message. So I am taking my money elsewhere and I ask that all military and civilian in the San Diego California area who are reading this review because you are most likely shopping around for this type of service, to contact PODS and tell them you want their service but you will be taking your money elsewhere and while I know this is a headache and expensive but if you can afford to do it, end your relationship with POD and find another local storage service. Many of my brothers and sisters who have POD units this is a great reminder and opportunity to go through your belongings and probably most of the stuff you can donate or dispose and youll find that you may not even need your unit any way and youll save money each month. When the PODS company wants to start behaving like they actually want customers, I will gladly return.

I wish I would have read the reviews and listened. This is the absolute worst moving experience I have ever had. I moved from Reno, NV to San Diego, CA. First off the POD is way smaller than the U haul they compare it to. And, the POD takes up way more room than 2 parking spaces. Moving back into CA requires you to complete a Gypsy Moth form. I sent my completed from back to PODS and received a confirmation email from Adrian Archer confirming they received the form and I was good to expect my POD on time. It is now 8 calendar days past the scheduled shipment date and I still have another 6 calendar days to go. The resolution department is a joke. They refunded the POD cost only the charge my card again, for the full amount at midnight the same day. I was told to save receipts for anything i had to buy while waiting for the POD, with no guarantee they will actually reimburse or how long it will take to get my money. I have a 1.5 year old and 5 year old and this delay has been particularly hard on them and my wife. Please do everything you can do avoid this company/service. It is not worth your time, energy and especially money. I will post a follow up review once this is all over. I highly doubt they will be able to get their stars up unless they do something remarkable on the customer service side of this.

For the service of delivering goods they did ok, maybe 3 stars. In terms of doing things on time and communication 1 star is generous. Initial receipt of the pod itself was ok. I mostly finished packing my things the night before it was set to be picked up, but when I went back in the morning before my scheduled window for pickup the pod was already gone. Awesome, I still have some stuff I was going to put in there but cest la vie. Along with this since I was moving to CA I was told I needed to fill out a gypsy moth form and give it to the carrier. I printed it off and filled it out. But wait the carrier is pods itself. You need to email/fax it back. My account online was useless, it said I needed to sign a form but no indication of what form. On top of this my scheduled delivery date was moved a day, when I asked about this I was told there was no way I could have scheduled the day I asked for and maybe I could pay another 100$ to have it the day I initially scheduled for. I will do my best to never use pods again. I dont need to pay thousands of dollars for crappy service.

Giving this company 1-star is a privilege. If there was an option for 0-stars, thats what I wouldve chosen. PODS Storage Company needs to fire everyone in their Accoutants Dept for their extreme poor practice of accounting and auditing. This company couldnt even get "automatic pay set-up" to work in their favor and will bill the customers for what they claim theyve never received every few months. I have called customer service four times and even spoken to their Accountant Manager and each time I go over every single month (step by step) to show proof of payment and each time the phone calls end up with "everything is good and we will make the corrections on our end ". Then a few days later Id get an email stating my account is past due AGAIN!! On Dec 15, 2016, I will make a fifth call to PODS Stroage Company regarding my account. This will be my logged forum for every time I get the same email for the same past due notice for an account in which Ive closed out since November 28, 2016.
