I arrived from San Diego on vacation and needed a last minute haircut. Im very picky about who cuts my hair. That being said, I spent over an hour searching online reviews to find the right place for mens cut that is reasonably priced. After reading about how meticulous Larry is, I realized hed be the guy for me. I called for an appointment and got lucky to get "on the books" 2 hours later. I showed up 10 minutes early and took a seat. There is plenty of reading material to keep you entertained. Larry finished with his client and I was in the chair right on time. I realized how lucky I was to get squeezed in because during my cut, there were 2 regular clients of Larry who tried to get in last minute and Larry turned them away after they agreed to return at a later time. In addition to that, Larry had 3 phone calls from clients wanting appointments. That in itself should describe his style --- repeat business, repeat business, repeat business, and for a very valid reason! Onto the cut. I asked Larry for the top to be short, #5 length, and the sides to be faded with. 1/2 guard into a smooth blend. Larry asked if I wanted a taper at the neckline and I agreed to run with it. After the cut and fade, Larry fine tuned the neckline with the straight blade. Last minute I asked Larry to trim my 6 day old beard and he did so with the short clippers. Larry spun me around after the cut and I was very pleased. Larrys 50 years of experience shows, and Ill be coming back next time Im in SF.

If youre tired of expensive, hard-to-schedule haircuts, this is the the place for you. When my neighborhood barber shop got too busy to see me, I ducked into this little shop in the back of The Hound Clothiers near my office. This place is super low key with bare utilitarian fitting, three chairs and a trio of quiet old barbers. Aside from the soft rock radio and the tedious banter of the other customers (almost all middle aged professionals), it was a good experience. I got a great trim at a great (by SF standards) price - $30 for a basic haircut, $5 for a beard trim. This place isnt hip, but it works.

Great old-fashioned Barber Shop. Larry is that type of professional that is mastering his craft and does not disappoint. No frills, no superfluous conversation, just a great hair cut, every time. Ive been going there for over three years now, and I have always been very satisfied. If youre looking for a classic, consistent cut, do give them a try. You will not regret it. Since January 2014, they are located in the back of "The Hound Clothiers" on Sutter.

Located in the rear of "The Hound" mens clothing store on Sutter, Ive been coming to Arcade Barbershop for 15 years and highly recommend. The barbers are old school, and some use straight razors to get a nice, tight hairline along your neck and sideburns. Shoe Shine also available from Max for just a few bucks.

I got a beard trim (no shave, just clippers) and was charged $20. Price seems a bit high for a simple thing. After my shave I noticed they missed some spots and they did not clean all the hair off my face and neck. On a positive note, the barbers are nice and I got a free backrub after the shave.

Larry will fit you into his calender whenever possible and gives you and old-style haircut in a great environment. He finishes up his work with some traditional paste and talkum pounder for the itching. Over all a lovely British experiance executed by a South-American barber.

Best $30 hair cut Ive had in a long long time! Nice cozy barber shop with three chairs at the back of The Hound. Larry looked after me and did a great, meticulous job. Everyone was friendly and pleasant. Will come back without hesitation.

Great barbershop located in the back of the Hound store. I had my haircut by Steve and he was very meticulous and careful. Did not rush the haircut at all. I was very happy with my cut. Price is also very reasonable.

Great Barbershop, went here with my brother, they fit us in even though they were busy, best haircuts we both had, all very knowledgeable, professional. Definitely found my goto. Thanks Arcade Barber Shop.

First, the haircut was suboptimal at best. The true horror was when he asked me (in the middle of my haircut) to get off and wait while he attends to another customer. Extremely disrespectful.

Have to say these guys have saved my on two occasions when I needed a haircut as a walk-in right at closing time. I am in and out in no time with a cut I enjoy for the right price.

Classic joint. Straight up gentlemen you can trust. Shave, trim, whatever. Relax while you get cut staring at haberdashers at work.

Friendly people and a good cut. $35 is a salon quality price. The location was key for me, but the venue is a little dated.
