I new to SLO, and I took a recommendation from a co-worker to go see Jessi at Bluebird. The salon itself is very cute and clean, and everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. And the best part...this is probably the best cut and color Ive ever had! As someone who moves around a lot, Im pretty easy-going when it comes to my hair style, because you never know what youre going to get at a new salon. But Jessi went far above and beyond what I could have expected...she really listened to what I wanted with the cut, and had great attention to detail when applying the color and putting my layers in. My highlights are natural, but well defined, and the cut she did is absolutely perfect. She took the time to give me a great and relaxing shampoo, and really styled my hair when she blew it dry. I will absolutely be back!!!

I am new to town and I have gone to a couple of salons down town and have not gone back. But after yesterday...BlueBird is my new salon of choice! My boyfriend and I were having a bad hair day...and we were walking dt and spontaneously decided to get our hair cut. We stopped by a few salons and decided that Blue Bird Salon was a good choice. Our stylist was Rhyan and she did an amazing job! She really listened to what I was looking for and she made smart suggestions! I am hard to please when it comes to hair stylists and I absolutely loved my hair! And the customer service was amazing! Everyone working in the salon was so friendly...Ive worked retail a majority of my career and I really think customer service is key in todays economy.

I have been going to Bluebird Salon for several years! I get TONS of compliments on my hair and am often asked who my stylist is (it has been Janina since Ariel decided to concentrate on business and the move to the new salon). I have never been disappointed! The staff and the other stylists treat me like royalty, or at least like a family member they are truly happy to see! I watch the other stylists when they are working and it is a professional and fun environment...I have to admit that I sometimes bring in photos, knowing darn well I am not going to look like the 20-year old actress or model in the photo, but we have fun with it, and I am realistic! I may not look 20 but my hair looks great! I love the new salon!

Bluebird in amazing! From the chic, comfortable decor, to the wonderful people working there I felt very welcomed the moment that I walked through the door. In regards to the haircut Jess was the absolute best! I chopped off almost half of my hair and was super nervous about it, but Jess was very reassuring. We talked through it beforehand so she could get an idea of what I was looking for, and then she talked me through what she was doing throughout it so that I could achieve the same look for my hair as well [every girls fear after leaving the salon, right?]. Super approachable, amazingly friendly, and informative! I will definitely be going back! :)

Make sure you DO NOT book or even attempt to contact them if you are planning a destination wedding. They REQUIRE a trial run. I looked on their website and what I wanted done for my bridal hair was shown on their site. They would not work with me as I am 3 hours away and would not be able to to pay travel expenses as well as pay the full price to have a trial run and pay the full price AGAIN on my wedding day. I AM PAYING FOR A WEDDING HERE! Seems they are not confident in their staff and its sad that they lost a sale of having makeup and hair done for 6 people over $70. I would never recommend to anyone.

Loved my haircut, main complaint was that my stylist was 15 minutes late for my appointment. I was also put on a different stylists schedule than I had originally scheduled with and no one told me. Luckily it was my first visit and I didnt know either stylist, but it still seemed weird to me. Lastly I found the stylist to be a bit condescending when I mentioned I preferred a style requiring "minimal maintenance" as well as when I mentioned the fact that it had been a long time since I had gotten my hair cut. I left feeling happy but slightly judged and deflated by the staff.

I saw Janina in February for cut and color. First off she kept me waiting 30 minutes. Ordinarily I wouldnt mind waiting a few minutes, but Im busy, hey arent we all? 30 minutes is just too much.The cut was good but color absolutely terrible. She managed to do everything I asked her to avoid leaving me with bright white stripy highlights in my previously pretty natural looking hair. As the cut was good I rescheduled for another cut-again nearly 30 minute wait. Snobby, unfriendly staff. Overall less than mediocre salon experience.

I have gone to Bluebird saloon several times now and have not been disappointed. I have had trouble in the past with other stylists not understanding how to help me with my naturally curly/ wavy hair but the stylists at Bluebird have been great and the curly hair products from Bumble & BUmble that they cary are really great and smell amazing! The ambiance is very chic and they receptionists are always friendly and helpful never snotty or more interested in their own conversations like at some other salons in SLO.

Bluebird Salon has the best stylists in the entire SLO area. Jessica Winstead does my hair and shes worked in runway shows, television castings, and magazine print work. Shes really just absolutely phenomenal and a complete professional! Everyone in this salon is super friendly, no drama, totally sweet and I just love walking in! Not to mention, the interior of this place is so cute! They even have a cute little bird chirping in their lounge area. Seriously, you need to go here! You wont regret it. :)

I definitely recommend Bluebird Salon. The owner has created a lovely, welcoming space in which to be pampered. It all starts when I walk in the door and am offered coffee or water. Then I get my hair washed with the luxurious Bumble & Bumble products that smell sooo good . . . and I get my neck and scalp massaged - my favorite! I also really enjoy my stylist, Amber, who consistently gives me a beautiful cut while we catch up on whats been happening in our lives. Love it!

I have been going to Bluebird for almost 2 years now. I have had 3 stylists and all have been fantastic. The staff, comfort and extras that come with a hair cut / style are amazing. The product line is some of the best I have ever used. I move from San Luis to Santa Maria and still continue to travel to Bluebird Salon to attend to my hair needs. Thank you and keep up with the great place, staff and stylists.

When I moved to SLO from the LA area I asked 3 gals with good hair cuts where they went and two said Bulebird --- made an appointment with Rhyan and have been going back since. She has really helped me with growing my hair out again keeping the shape and body fun during what could have been awkward phases. Ive been so pleased with both Bluebird and Rhyan I talked my brother into seeing her too.
