in order for any business to stay in business more than a few years, customer service and honesty must prevail. thats exactly what youll find at swedish asian auto service. to date, i have taken my car there two times for problems i created. expecting to get hit with some serious repair bills, instead steve, john and the rest of the team found the root of the issues, which werent nearly as severe as expected, and remedied them without killing my wallet. for which i am truly grateful. i dont even remember what the first repair was on for, oh right broken axle. totally my doing as i hoon the car maybe a bit too much! after a tow to the house i went looking for a local independent shop here in santa ana. driving down grand hundreds of times, i recalled the white building near the railroad tracks with the car makes painted on the side. after doing a bit of internet research, reading reviews and the like, swedish asian auto service was the name of that white building [thank you, google maps]. maybe i should see what theyre on? • in business for 30+ years? thats a good sign. • a bunch of positive internet reviews that dont look like some form randomizer? that is too! so i had the car towed down there and spoke with john pizanie. nothing shady about this place. well laid out with plenty of car repair infrastructure in place. the mechanics were all business going about their duties, not slacking off or playing grabass. im feeling pretty good about my decision at this point. i was expecting a 2-3k bill for what believed to be a final drive transmission grenade. as the axle was the culprit, even with all the diagnosis, labor and tax/fees, the cost to have a running car again was less than 1k. what a relief! this latest round of repair needs was a bit more intense. based on the initial sounds emitting from my car, the prognosis was dire. connecting rod failure!? i was really hoping this would not turn out to be the case and require another engine. given the options available, i wasnt ready to scrap the car and decided to forge ahead with potentially 5k worth of expenditure to keep it running. after the initial 1/2 up front deposit i was off to vacation, which was planned while the car failure was not! a day later john phones me up and lets me know that the engine will not need to be replaced, so thats a huge relief! turns out the spark plug came out of the block and where it evacuated would need to be re-tapped and some bits of the plug ended up in the cylinder, which could be machined for much less than the cost of the new engine. i told john to go ahead with the procedure and let me know where we were in a few days. john phoned a few days later and told me that he owed ME money! hows that for a pleasant surprise. in addition, john went over some other minor fixes that they could do and even after all those if elected, i would still be getting money back. i elected for these fixes as i knew that after arriving back from vacation, id have an auto in much better shape than how i left it. swedish asian auto service isnt in the business to maximize profit while providing the least amount of service. this clearly is displayed by the number of repeat lifelong customers and the number of positive internet reviews such as this one. i dont normally write reviews for anything, yet when a group does an outstanding job worthy of high praise, well, praise be given! so, thank you swedish asian auto service for being the reputable local independent shop you are, and that would be my local independent shop of choice! while its never an enjoyable time having your car broken, the comfort in knowing it will be repaired properly and you wont get ripped off in the process helps ease the blow. and its for these reasons you should consider swedish asian auto service for your next repair.

John and his team truly put the customer first at SAAS. He will not only diagnose and promptly repair your car, he will also educate you along the way so you understand exactly what is being done. My dashboard lit up with service lights a week ago, I called John and he told me to bring it in right away as that typically isnt good. When I arrived he dropped what he was doing, brought the computer out to the car and, while i was sitting in the car with him, explained the error code and what it could mean. After asking me some questions, Johns opinion, based upon his experience, was to reset the light, tighten the gas cap (which was loose), air up the tires, and evalute the car from there. A week later the lights are still off and the car is running perfectly. I am not sure most shops would offer this type of service and give you the genuine impression they care more about you then they do about their cash register. John and his team have a long term approach to their shop and know happy customers equal a healthy business. Take your car to SAAS!

Looks like I found a new mechanic! My regular mechanic was unable to fit me in for a vehicle inspection, so I began looking around for local AAA approved shops. Given the overwhelmingly high online reviews, I called The Auto Service, and I was delighted to discover that the good reviews are well deserved. When I called, John (the manager) spoke with me on the phone and said he would be happy to fit me in that day. Once there, I was treated kindly and professionally by every staff member I encountered. They went out of their way to be helpful. Its also worth noting that the customer waiting lounge is far and away the nicest I have seen anywhere. As it happens, I didnt get to spend much time in there, though, since they set to work on my car as soon as I arrived and had me out of there in no time. This will certainly be my go-to place in the future.

We have had both our Honda CRV and our Volvo serviced at Swedish Asian Auto several times. Steve and the guys have always been friendly and helpful. But the best part is that they are brutally honest about what really does or more importantly does not need to be done to our cars. I was told by the Honda dealer that I needed to replace my brakes almost a year ago. I knew Steve would be better priced so I immediately took it to him to have it done. To my pleasant surprise he told me I had 40% of my brakes left and that I could hold off and spend my money instead on much needed new tires. SAAS has saved me on several occasions from spending money that I really didnt need to spend. All their work has been top rate. I highly recommend them. PS I love their "green" efforts also! Randi I.

Excellent Service. I first came to SAAS last winter when my car broke down and the local shops in my area were determined to rip me off. SAAS did a great job then, and they did a great job again this past week when my car needed major work. Fair and reasonable prices, friendly people, and great customer service. When they realized my car would take longer than originally planned, they arranged for a rental car for me so I could go about my business. Once again, I was blown away by the level of service. I drive a 1991 Volvo, and the techs at SAAS went out of their way to get my car road-ready for the upcoming school year. I can now make the commute to school each day with total peace of mind. Thank you, SAAS!
