Weve gone to this spa many times - good experiences until now. Lesson learned: If you make a reservation in advance, call again to make sure they got it right. Called to reserve a room for two on a late Friday night. Hour tub, half hour massages. As a gift. Easy, done. Got a call on Friday night that there was no record of the reservation. Receptionists are dumbstruck, cant find names or numbers anywhere, apologizing, lost. So, the girls went somewhere close by (Kiva; they loved it). Naturally I asked that the manager call me back later. She did - and she was actually the one that took the reservation. As I pleaded my case - she argued with me for five to ten minutes that there was no reservation for Friday night. Allegedly it was for "Thursday night", so they charged me for a "no show". As we went back and forth, it felt more like a matter of pride for her that I as the customer was wrong: she "knew what she said last week", and actually laughed at me during the conversation. Nice - that was the kicker and hence the one star. Good customer service THS; take my money and laugh at me. Thus, Ill never go back as Im out about $130. Its a shame - because otherwise this was a nice, cheap & private place to escape & relax, and one that I used to suggest to friends.

I love this place. Service is always good, tea is delicious and the hot tubs are relaxing. Sorry I dont have a picture of the front entrance yet, but it is a gorgeous, tranquil walk way. It is nice to have a switch of your state of mind between the street and the actual entrance. It works great. I will add pics later when I get back into town. I havent done the massages yet there because they tend to get booked quickly, but hopefully we will experience that next time. I will be sure to report back on that.

Ive been a "frequent tubber" at the Tea House since 1994. As a sciatica sufferer I have found that tubbing is the one thing that really works for me. I go 2 - 3 times a month and have never had a bad experience. On the contrary, the staff have been consistently courteous, friendly and efficient. The tubs, saunas and beautiful bamboo garden views are so relaxing and healing. Another great reason to live in Santa Cruz :D I love the Bonny Doon Farms body wash and shampoo too - I had to get some for home!

Knowing I could use a little stress relief with all the craziness of our holiday travels, I made a reservation for the day before Thanksgiving. I was greeted by Andrew and thus began a marvelous hour. I cant say enough great things about him. He was able to find the little aches and pains and then work on all the pieces that are interconnected. The tea house provided a great atmosphere for me to relax and enjoy his work.

The tea and the amenities are wonderful! Very clean, and I get good vibes when I come. Just a heads up, the House of Blues is right next door... So depending on your room, you may hear some of the music going on if there is an event happening. Also, have your boyfriend call or your brother call for an appt. Ive noticed a pattern that I always get a small room towards the front if Im the one calling, maybe Im just lucky.

My partner and I love this place. We try to go to the Tea House as often as we can escape San Francisco. The staff are courteous, friendly and efficient. The tubs, saunas and beautiful bamboo garden views are so relaxing and healing. Their complimentary tea is delicious and they offer a nice selection of teas. I love their Bonny Doon Farms body wash and shampoo too! I had to buy some to take home with me.

Horrible location, it was location directly next door to a live band. I attended Wednesday night @ 9pm & wish I never spent the $45. What a waste of money. I notified the front desk person & she said, our location is, our location. This spa also has a no-refund policy so save yourself time & money, skip this place late at night. Im sure its better on non-band nights.

My prenatal massage was meh. No hole in the table. Staff was nice, but its a small area for the massages. You change in the massage room. The best part of this place is really their hot tub/sauna areas which my husband LOVED. I peaked into the space and you get a beautiful view of their bamboo garden. Id come back when not pregnant for a soak and a schvitz.

I love this place. So relaxing on a Sunday after brunch.. and such a good deal. Ive been going here for years and will as long as I can. They have local all natural lavender soap, shampoo and lotion from bonny dune. One piece of advice: get two sessions back to back because one flys by so fast (even though its 50 min!) youll be wanting more tub and sauna.

Wow. Feel refreshed and new with a soak and sauna. Love the mood and the little private areas for your spa. Well maintained and clean, with options for adjusting the temperature enables even the hot bodies to turn up the heat more. Complimentary tea for every session. Truly a well executed establishment.

Three words: Green Tea Desserts. I ordered the green tea cheesecake and green tea ice cream sandwich. Delicious! It was also really nice to drink some warm tea while taking on the ambiance of the garden. I had a great time here- and the tea was also really delicious.

Second time in this place. We had a great time just going to the hot tub and enjoying their tea. It was so good, we got an extra pot for three extra dollars. Even if this location is right at downtown, they manage to keep the hot tub areas serene.

Just got back from Tea House Spa for a massage and a hot tub spa. Best massage I had ever. Definitely a spot Id recommend to everyone coming to Santa Cruz. Also, the Happy Tea is pretty awesome.

Bamboo Garden and Decor are nice. Hot tubs totally suck and are about 20 years overdue for being replaced. The woman working was incredibly stuck up.. like ooo, you work at a hot tub place.

If they spent less time getting high and talking about crystals maybe they could pick up their phone and not screw up appointments. Receptionist is stuck up space cadet. Never again.

The worst rude staff ever. I will never go here. Dont waste your money here. Go to the well within down the street for a better experience. The rooms are small here, and dirty.

My wife and I *love* this place. Its always a treat to go here, and the price for 2 people for an hour (tub only, no sauna) is actually quite reasonable!

This is one of my favorite places in SC, for the jacuzzi and relaxation atmosphere with friends/romantic getaway, this is great for stress relief.
