When I think of the Ritz Carlton at half moon bay I truly know i will get a Five Star Experience! Ive stayed in a lot of high end hotels around the country.Every single person in the hotel makes sure that their guess are happy and well care for. From the valets and spa attendants to the front desk and club lounge manager. We especially enjoyed the Adirondack chairs around the fire pits on the Ocean Terrace. A lovely and relaxing place to cuddle under the provided blankets afternoon and night. One of my favorite places in the whole world. Its incredibly scenic and its so romantic Absolutely stunning Views. The one of the nicest hotel Ive stayed at in the Bay Area. Great pool, views, restaurant, pool, surrounding landscape, service, etc..The views are incredible - you can walk along the beach, you can walk near the golf course, etc. I would also say that they food here is incredible as well (though pricey). I love the smores you can make outside at the fireplaces. The rooms and grounds were beautiful. The view from the Oceanside Guesthouse amazed, the fire pit warmed, and the spa services revived. Each and every Ritz employee was gracious and fully committed to our happiness The staff here are simply amazing. they always go above and beyond in service and always have time to answer questions and see how you are going.I have use the Ritz Carlton for my range of needs or services, including nice nights out, breakfast, lunches and casual drinks Business events and occasionally Golf tournaments on there 18 hole ocean course or the 18 hole golf courses. Every time is always enjoyable and a luxurious treat to be had. o the food, which was outstanding as always and truly beautiful Gorgeous resort, setting couldnt be surpassed. Great food, great rooms, spectacular walking trail above ocean. We have the option of late checkout. although the resort was nearly empty, they denied us the late checkout.takes your breath away. Truly a Must stay!

Ritz Carlton is always our first choice when my family and I travel. It is because of the level of service that is customary to Ritz. We are frequent visitors to this particular Ritz because we live in SF and it’s a nice alternative to wine country when we seek an escape from city noise for a day. We have stayed overnight once or twice, but usually we just come for a day since we live 45 minutes away. Today we were there for Mother’s Day brunch, and I have to say the brunch itself was very good. Our server, I am sorry good sir - I forgot your name :), was great! In fact the stars in this review, all go to him :) After the brunch, we sat outside on their terrace as we have done many times before, having drinks, conversing with our kids and enjoying gorgeous views this place has to offer… A server approached us to take our drink order, and asked for my last name for some reason. We placed the order, didn’t really think twice about the last name thing. He comes back to inform me that he couldn’t find my name among hotel guests, I told him we are not staying in the hotel. “But, you said you are staying in the hotel,” he says, “ you even spelled your last name, remember?” I do understand that the hotel reserves spaces for people that stay there, and I wouldn’t mind moving, after all there was a sign which I apparently didn’t read, however, do you have to call me a liar? After this, I asked him if we can wait for our drinks there and take them outside of the EMPTY “Hotel Guests Only” area after they have arrived, to what he replied that he didn’t put the drink order in, and that we should move right away. I only posted this review so Ritz uses it as constructive criticism and does something about mishaps like this. I do not mind paying $1000 for brunch, but I expect little better than “ you need to move you - liar!!! “ :)) Anyway, we canceled our Father’s Day Brunch reservation with them, we’ll probably go to Yountville this time ;)

The Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay is build uniquely on Cliff Side. There is Free Public Access Garage Parking available as well as 30.00 $ Valet Parking. If you dont mind. A 5 minute walk there is a Small 15 Car Public Parking lot with no limit and charges from where you can walk down the Cliff to come out at the Ocean Terrace Bare of the Ritz Carlton. We arrived perfectly time about 1.5 Hours before Sunset and enjoyed very comfortable outdoor seating next to a Fire. Additionally the Ritz Carlton offers seating all around its Terrace in single & couple seats, community seats and Family Couches through the. All this in a extremely well land scape scenery. The Food and Beverage menu included a solid Global Red and Wine Menu, local (Widmer) as well as Global Beers on tap and in bottles. Cocktail menu was short and simple but the Bartender are well trained and can make you any known Cocktail as we ordered something rare which the Bartender was very attentive to. The Food had a Seafood oriented style with a exclusive Oyster Bar and included Kids favorites like Mac and Cheese or PB&J Sandwiches. Additionally there is plenty of light and exclusively Snacks available to Pair with you choice of drinks e.g. Organic Salsa and Dips, Chips, Crostinis etc. Prices are a little above average but the Value is worth it. We were surprised by an Irish man walking up the Terrace and playing his Bagpipe perfectly timed for all of us to turn around and enjoy the beautiful sunset in Half Moon Bay.

Half Moon Bay is beautiful as always. This Ritz scored big on this location. As a local though. This is just a monstrosity and takes up so much of the land with its golf coarse and private condos. The hotel itself isnt as glamorous as the main Ritz in SF, but I love the back area with the outdoor fireplaces and seating areas. Also the suites are nothing less than pretty and perfect. The bed was like laying on a cloud and I have to say. It was hard to get out of it, but the bathtub was the best of my experience at this location. If given the opportunity, Id live in the damn thing! Fabulous! The staff were very sweet and as an observer type. The staff does work hard dealing with valet arrivals/departing and guest services. Take this into account if there may be some kind of tiny delay. There was a HUGE line of cars coming in as we were leaving. All in all, this Ritz was cute. Im an environmental type born and raised, so I have strong opinions on the impact humans have on these types of locations. The rich can do whatever they please with no concern of how the actual locals feel, and what damage golf courses do to the WildLife and ecosystems they annihilate for the sake of rich white men needing to hit a tiny ball on some grassy field. I prefer any Ritz in any major city setting than places where the beauty of nature has to be bought and sold for those with money. I know there is something wrong about this. It sucks. Enjoy your stay!

Our experience could have been spectacular, but we had to deal with some of the rudest staff I have ever come across at a hotel chain. When we first arrived, the valet attendant asked if we were holding and we said we werent. His response was that there was no public parking there and walked away. We had to chase him down to tell him we were trying to go to the restaurant to grab a drink and gave some food. Then it was OK for us to park there. We then went to the bar and had to wait for about 15 min in line before being served, bought 3 bottles of wine, and grabbed a table. The bartenders told us we could sit wherever we wanted to as long as the table was open. After grabbing an open table, the hostess came over and told us we had to move because someone was going to be seated at that table shortly when meanwhile there were 4 more open tables at the bar. She proceeded to tell us that we could not sit at any other open table and that we had to wait for 45 minutes for a table, in an extremely rude way. She also brought the manager over and made a big scene which was quite embarrassing as there were many people around. In saying all this, the views were spectacular And it was a lovely place to sit out and enjoy the ocean view. The staff is just terribly stuck up, made high paying customers feel very unwelcome, and we ended up drinking our wine and leaving as opposed to getting a meal as well.
