Ive only been working out at the 24 Hour Fitness in the Galleria for a few days now. I just moved to LA last week and needed to find a gym that was reasonably priced and didnt have an insane contract (my friend has a 3-year contract at Ballys!!!). I signed up for $35 a month, and theres no contract. You just pay month to month, so that was the main reason I signed up. The parking is in a parking garage, and you have a pretty good walk to get to the gym. (Which I guess is fine since youre trying to be healthy!) The facility is really big and nice, but its also EXTREMELY crowded and hot. There really isnt a time to avoid the crowd since its LA and very few people here have a 9-5 job. It might be less crowded at 3 a.m. The staff is nice if you have any questions, but other than that, I dont think they maintain the facility itself. Getting the equipment you need is a waiting game, so that can get pretty frustrating. There are no towels or cleaner, so I imagine the equipment is pretty unsanitary with everybodys sweat on it. Avoid rubbing your eyes, mouth or nose after handling the weights and equipment. Pros: Cheap rates, large facility and helpful staff. Cons: Overcrowded and unsanitary.

This gym is absolutely horrible. People leave their gym bags on the floor, they dont wipe down the machines, management is rather incompetent. I asked they address a particular problem (almost daily!) and they did nothing. 3 months went by and still nothing. As long as your monthly dues are paid, theyre happy. How exhausting/frustrating/annoying it is for you to work out there is something they dont seem to care about. Machines are run down (and thats after two "upgrades"), broken, rusted, parts are missing, etc. If you want a decent gym to work out in, Id suggest running around the block--because this gym will only aggravate you. Management seems like they werent trained properly, dirt/gum/sweat issues dont seem to get addressed and the bathrooms leave you wanting a coffee can to do your business in as looking at the toilet seats leaves one thinking, "How in Gods name did THAT get there??" If you really want a gym in that particular neighborhood, wait until LA Fitness opens, because paying to go to 24 Hour Fitness at the Galleria will only seem like youre throwing your money away...

One of the better 24 HR Fitness! This is 24 HR Fitness is much better than the Panorama City one by far. I started coming here after my friend told me that they had newer and better kept equipment. This place is air conditioned and has two floors. I like how there are many machines to choose from. Over at Panorama, I would have to wait for machines or for certain equipment to be done with. Weights are still left lying around, so youd have to walk around to find the one you want. However, I enjoy their big locker room and the sauna. They actually have partitioned showers, not just one big one like Panorama, so you at least have a bit more privacy. Try to go in the morning or later at night. Thats when its not packed with a bunch of people and youll be free to do most of your exercises. They also have the rope undulation workout and another room with straps for multiple varieties of workouts. Parking is FREE for 2 HOURS, with validation (at the front desk). Good stuff! I recommend it.

This gym is decent! Usually I can find a cardio machine open when I need it, the yoga classes are great, Zumba is okay when its not too crowded. The parking structure is huge and it takes a minute to walk through the mall to get to the gym, which is weird at first, but they validate two hours free parking so its good motivation to go in and get finished with your workout quickly! The only few bad things would be #1- the weights scattered all over the gym all the time, makes it hard to complete sets, especially if you need 20lb dumb bells. I can never find two in the same place, but thats just the patrons being irresponsible and not cleaning up after themselves. Also the smell going from upstairs to downstairs is always FUNKY, but you get used to it lol. People are generally nice here! Id keep my membership but they upped their monthly rate, plus with bi-annual fees Im paying for 14 months per year which is too expensive. Hope LA Fitness is better!

When they took down all those godawful Magic Johnson pictures and "remodeled " it was nice...for a minute. But its becoming a real sh*thole again. I go there at least 4x/week and just last week I counted over 20 machines "out of order". The locker rooms stink and I rarely see anyone cleaning them. And the paper towels to wipe down the machines lately has been empty all over the damn gym. Sure, sharing is caring but Id rather not sit in others sweat. On the plus side, not all of the front desk staff are dickish. And the place is huge with two floors of cardio equipment, free weights and machines. And parking is free (although you might have to do a bit of cardio from car to gym...bonus exercise!) If they would just be a little more proactive on keeping the equipment working, it would be a 4-star gym. Ive given up on their ability to clean the locker room so itll never be. 5-star.

I have not been to the gym in about 4yrs,so there was a lot of changes as far as I could tell from what I saw and used I liked it.The receptions suchi,I just spoke to one of the people who works there and found out that Sherman Oak is not his regular location,so I guess you can say I just went on the right morning because he was great.I start at around 6:00am and found the Mens lockeroom was completely different in a good way.It smelled very clean and I really like the new lockers if you did not bring a lock the new system they have is really nice.Thats it for my review,FYI this is just my view and I have not been there in four years so for those who have not had a time gap,and its not up to par for you, just take note of the time I have been MIA from the gym.Cheers and have a great weekend.

Pretty pathetic that they would transition this to a Super Sport in its current state. This has to be the only Super Sport with neither a pool or a basketball court. Theres nothing super about this place. Though no fault of the companys, its filled with douchebags that will carry a 25 dumbbell from one end of the gym to the other, and not have the decency to put it back. The bright side is, I didnt have to walk to the dumbbell rack to do my shoulder presses because they had all the weights right next to the squat rack on the complete opposite side of the gym. Staff gets a bad rep. Theyre actually nice people who do work. Unfortunately for them, no amount of work can undo what the asses who patronize this gym do to this place.

If i could give zero stars I would. Worst. Gym. Ever. I guess you truly do get what you pay for. Very sad. I only use treadmills and they are the oldest ones ever and at least half are broken at any given time, have only one book holder as the other one is broken off and the top part of the screen is sometimes detached. I have been a member on and off since gym was built and they seem to have no desire to make any improvements. Plus I just found out my monthly dues will be going up each year! Please ask to see that part of th contract if u are looking to sign up. Very shady. And its there. I read it. A year after I joined that is.
