One of the best selections of off-beat/rare/hard to find DVDs, Blu-Rays, and even a few VHS/LaserDisc (I think) for rental. Nearly all of the Criterion collection is here, including out-of-print editions, as well as Kino, and many other small release distributors. Every genre is well covered here. Its really easy to navigate, despite the large selection, and the staff always are willing to help you find something if you think youve missed it. There are plenty of major-market/blockbuster films here as well - so youre sure to find something for just about everyone. In terms of cost, its not Netflix-streaming-dirt-cheap ($4.50 without membership - down to $2 with a 100-movie membership) but its well worth it given the selection, the staff experience, and the well-maintained discs.

Videotheque, a small, independent video store in South Pasadena has a great collection French movies. When you first go in, you might be a little confused by the way the store is organized, but youll quickly get the hang of it. Movies are organized by directors, nationalities, actors. So if you have a favorite director, you can easily see what other movies he has directed. **Street parking can be a pain, especially if you go on Thursday 3-7pm (There is a Farmers Market nearby). But there is an alley on the side that leads to a small parking lot behind the store and because of their selection and friendly staff, the pain is well worth it. You can even check out French in Action the popular and hugely successful French language learning series.

I went in to see the selection and maybe find a few hard to find films. GREAT selection however I ended up not getting anything and will not be returning. Just about the rudest service I have ever experienced. I asked for the Kubrick section and got a series of glares from two of the staff and no reply. I asked ho could I sign up for possible membership and how to rent and a girl who worked there just gave me attitude and told me to come back when I knew what to do. Was a beautiful store but the staff is just a bunch of low life hipsters that would go through the trouble just to make you feel inadequate.

This place is super great. A while selection of current and trending films and well as astounding classics. The shelves are also cataloged by direction, actor and genre so if your looking for something it will be hard to miss. In addition to this there is a box at the front that has a large amount of digital download codes for movies. Which only cost $5! Crazy good deals. I really recommend

Been going to this great place since it opened. Unfortunately, had the last straw with the service and ill never go back. Specifically one or two women there that act like its their job to be as unpleasant as possible. I get it, you wear ironic snow hats in the middle of summer...youre very very cool. Now grow up.

Excellent place to rent DVDs or Blu ray. A large variety of DVDs in different languages from all over the world. Excellent collection of new release DVDs and also they buy used DVDs and sell used DVDs or they will order special DVDs for your convenience. Excellent staff with a friendly smile great customer service.

We love this place. Everyone there is so lay back and friendly. They always give you a break if you returned a movie a day late. They might only charged you a small amount. They have an incredible inventory of movies and documentaries, pretty much anything one is looking for. It is like being in a candy store.

A cinephiles dreamland featuring everything from Altman to Zeffirelli. The owner reinvests continuously in recent releases, including a sizable Blu-ray collection. The only thing Netflix has on them is their website, but the friendly staff make up for that with an impressive passion for movies.

Cool people in there. Lots of movies to choose from. But movies isnt all they have, they have some really cool records (some that theyll let you listen to in the store!) They also have some really cool movie posters and amazing t-shirts. You guys should really check this place out

I went to this place because I am collecting movie posters. I was amazed to see the selection of videos they have for rent. Even more amazed to see that there are still places to rent movies. I got my Clock Work Orange poster. Mission accomplished.

Videotheque has it! If you are looking for any film, its there. Staff knows the collection like its their own, on top of being good peoples. Location makes it even better, less than a block from the South Pasadena Metro station.
