Parents Beware!! You can call me nostalgic - I love book stores, I love video stores, and I love supporting local business. Heck, I was a big fan of Broadway Video until the owner decided I kept my last rental too long. I paid the fine without complaint. Truth is, I deserved the fine - 12 days is too long to keep a copy of Star Wars. Thing is, I have small kids, and while Im biased - they are pretty good kids, not perfect, but good. They lost the cover off the case and I couldnt find it - I searched high and low for 11 days. In retrospect, Im not sure why I cared so much but on the 12th day it was finally found. I rushed it back to the store and apologized to the owner. I figured that would end the story - Ive rented many times over the last 5 years so I figured “All’s Well that Ends Well”. Not so - when I went to rent today I found my account had been "flagged" - I waited several minutes for the owner to make an entrance where upon he made it clear (with a snotty attitude) that he wasnt sure he wanted to rent to me unless I verbally promised to bring all future rentals back on time. Im sorry - isnt that what the credit card on file and the signature on the rental agreement cover? I dont disagree that he has a right to rent on his terms and to whom he wants but I guess it was the public spectacle, and his clear distain for children that got under my skin. In the end, he was willing to rent to me again but only after my public embarrassment. I guess Ive visited my last video store - heck Netflix is easier anyhow. It’s too bad that video stores are going the way of the dinosaurs but in the case of Broadway Video, good riddance. My advice for parents - stay away - you really dont need the attitude.

Rude rude rude!!!!! They dont even care to retain customers... probably should. Got a DVD that was scratched and couldnt even play. Went back to the store and asked for a new copy and the guy was a complete A-hole. Very rude and pretty much blames the scratch on me while calling me a horrible "customeree"... tall kid with red hair. Very unprofessional and needs to learn some basic customer service manners. Very impolite and rude. Tried to use the local video store but he completely ruined that experience. I will be going back to red box. Only a matter of time before these guys go out of business. Maybe thats why he was so rude and upset. Good luck fellas, Im only a street away. Should probably try retaining customers if youre an obsolete business that is pretty much at the end of an era. P.s. According to the kid working, this is a very Pu**y move to write this review" smh.

I used to support this place because it was a local store in my neighborhood. I agree with "filmmaker" because I too have gotten the "you know you rented this already" remark before as well. Since I was so frequent, I would muster up some conversation with the employees from time to time even though they were slighty rude. The last time I tried to make conversation with the guy with shaggy brown hair who wears the same black jeans and shirt everyday, he told me and i quote, "i dont care." Even If i was talking about the leaves outside, im a paying customer, and unless im being rude, i shouldnt get obnoxious remarks like that! Especially because Im in there 2 times a week!!! Im honestly considering not even going there anymore and just finding a new place...also the other problem is they close at 10pm every night so unless you get there at 9:50, your out of luck!

I love Broadway Video because its independent and still going! Pretty much one of the only video stores still in business. They havent been able to fill every request ever, but to be fair, I come up with some pretty rare ones. Employees have always been helpful and friendly enough for cinephiles operating a labor of love. I used to go often when I lived within walking distance. Unfortunately I live far away (by socal terms) now and visit rarely. They also welcomed me bringing my dog in! It actually made me want to go more when I could make it part of my dog walk. :)

Ive seen a few reviews noting how rude the manager is here, they are spot on. After renting here for years I got a condescending lecture for being late on a return. Probably the rudest experience Ive had with a store clerk, ever. My wife and I used to love coming here on weeknights, now its Netflix and Chill. Bummed that one of the few places left like this is run by a jerk.

Forget NetFlix This is the only place left where you can still get all types of videos. Classics, current and a variety of different themes.

Old school style video store. Excellent for classics from the 80s and 90s. Super staff, very knowledgeable.
