Had a close friend out for this holiday and she lost her makeup during flight travel. She noticed the Aveda salon during our walk through town and wanted to purchase her lip and powder. I told her she should try Hot Shots, the original Aveda Salon, but we were already at this salon. OK, I thought I would give this place another chance but once again it disappoints with customer service, and the makeup display looks NOTHING like the other salons. Kinda run-down, no tissue, and they are not stocked. I could tell my friend was grossed out and annoyed by the rambling person helping us. There was a trail of hair by the desk and the place smelled like cooking odors (but that could be coming from the deli next door). We left and went to the other Aveda Salon and she was able to get her makeup in a more professional and well stocked, clean salon. 1 Previous Review: Hide » 3/6/2012 Not impressed by reviews made by a salon who has an owner that is not client oriented when it comes to customer service. Andrea is the owner and aka: "Master Colorist" as the last reviewer states but does not live up to her reputation. If you have a problem with your service, she will definately charge you more to fix it vs. listening to what the client wants. Was at Merchant and Main talking to my friend and another unhappy client joined in our convey with her remarks stating the same thing and why she doesnt go there anymore. I guess only certain people get excellent service from this colorist. Also, being an Aveda Salon doesnt impress me and the products are not as natural as advertised. Ladies, I highly recommend attending Ladies Night on March 14 and visiting some of the other salons in town or if you must have Aveda on your hair, try another stylist at this salon, but she only seems to hire people with less than 1-2 years experience with no training. "Beverly Hills Celebrity Salons" Hahaha...give me a break... The salon is far from high-end, I was never able to get the makeup I wanted, and service I needed which is why I give it 1 star.

I recently moved back to Vacaville and was looking for a salon to get some highlights. My friend suggested Essenza Salon because they were having a "Spring Sparkle Highlight" special for $50. I called and was surprised I was able to get an appointment so quick. Everything seemed fine until my stylist dried my hair and it looked like orange stripes around the top of my head. It looked nothing near the pretty light gold blonde from my previous highlight. She said it will lighten up and that she had to tone my hair because that is how my hair reacts to highlighting.What ??? I never had that problem any place else. Then I went to pay and my bill was over $100 without tip, haircut, or any other purchase. I thought it was suppose to be $50. She seemed to be doing more than highlighting my hair and charged me more for it. She didnt tell me that it would cost more while she was doing my hair. I waited 2 weeks to see if my hair would lighten like she said it would and it just kept getting orange and one of my co-workers asked me if I tried to do my own haircolor. I didnt go back to have it fixed for fear of burnt hair so I went to another local salon and had my hair repaired. It cost me more money but not nearly as much as Essenza Salon charged me. Definately do not recommend this salon at all !!!!!

Essenza Salon goes above and beyond to make your experience great!! I have been going here for two years for my hair cuts, color and highlights and every time is a wonder experience. Rachel is my girl and she is great. Her professionalism and knowledge about hair care is exceptional. She is friendly and really cares about my hair. My color always comes out beautifully and Rachel always gets it right. At Essenza I am always offered a beverage when I arrive and while I wait for my color to process I am given a hand massage. I also receive a head massage with my shampoo. Rachel and all the staff at Essenza are great and they provide a happy and relaxing environment. The little extras go a long way to make this a great place for your hair needs. I would and do recommend Essenza to all my friends.

I went through a hair coloring phase in in High school and went a little too dark one time and HATED it. My mom had always loved this salon and made me an appointment to get my hair fixed. I forgot who exactly colored my hair but I showed her pictures of my natural blonde color and somehow she matched it EXACTLY and I loved it so much. I never go anywhere else now, they are the only salon I trust to cut my hair. Kim is great! I try to get her when I go but I trust this place so much that it doesnt really matter who cuts my hair. They do a phenomenal job every time.

If you cant travel to Manhattan every 4-6 weeks for a cut (and who can!) this is the next-best-thing. This is high-end without the price. The cuts (4 to date) have left me thrilled with the visits. All the usual Aveda customer pampering is phenomenal - making you feel appreciated and loved - but its really the cut that makes it for me. No hesitation in using a razor on my hair for the style I want - few stylist are experts in this technique, but Andrea is a Master Stylist - and it shows. If you cant travel....

The salon definitely focuses on service! I was greeted warmly and promptly offered a beverage. In addition to your service, you get to have your choice of 2 of 4 complimentary mini-treatments with your choice of aveda fragrance. I felt so pampered - as my stylist was cutting my hair, another person was exfoliating my hands and giving my a gentle hand and arm massage! Will definitely return!

I went there and I went to another salon. They told me the women who did my hair damaged it so bad because she left the bleach on too long. I spent 400.00 dollars and plan on getting every cent back.
