I took my old Toyota Camry on 9 Sep 2013. First off, I told the Service Manager, Mike that I suspected that the steering mechanism is broke and leaking. Time is around 9:40 in the morning. Mike said that theyll do a diagnostic and will get back with me. In a short time, I saw the car driven inside the repair bay, lifted and I saw the mechanic did his inspection. After some time, the car was brought down and was parked behind the bay for a long time unattended. After waiting almost five hours for diagnostics, I felt compelled to inquire. I talked to Mike that almost five hours have past and no diagnostics yet. His replied was, I told you it will take a long time in not pleasant way. On the other hand, he was cordial with other customers. Maybe hes taking me for granted for being an Asian. I am hoping that I am wrong with my assumption. As I grew frustrated, I approached Ashley, the other service manager. In a very short time, she came back with the diagnostics, replacing the steering pump, steering hose, and the rack and pinion mechanism. In all, the job was completed before nine in the evening. This guy, Mike needs to be more customer service oriented; maybe he needs to learn to smile and accommodating. Talking to him felt like were there for the company and not the other way around. Other than that, I am satisfied with the workmanship and I am very appreciative for Ashleys professionalism. She went above and beyond. She herself went out on her personal time to pick up parts needed for the repair. I do wish that you will have more Ashley in all your stores. By the way, I am a retired military with over 23 years of honorable service. My time in service and experiences allows me an opportunity in identifying a good customer service and a bad one.

Worst experience Ive had at a mechanic... and Ive got an old truck... Ive been to A LOT of mechanics! Please if you care anything about your car DONT GO HERE!!!!!! I took my truck there because it died in Topanga Canyon and Pep boys was the closest shop. When I didnt hear from them in a day about my truck I called to find out what was going on. I was told it was simply a bad battery and I could pick up the truck at any time. That evening after work my buddy drove me out there (2hrs in rush hr.) only to find out the car was actually not running yet and that theyd forgotten to call me. Three days later I called to see what was happening with my car and they still hadnt diagnosed it yet. The next day they called to tell me theyd lost the key. Since that was the ONLY key they had to get another key made. After 5 days they finally had the key made but it took them another 3 days to diagnose the car. I was told because of the trouble theyd only charge me $70 for labor. When I went to pick up the truck theyd charged me $240 for labor and I was told Id have to wait 3 days till the manager was in. When I called him he first blamed me for how long everything took because I only had one set of keys (seriously what kind of mechanic loses your keys!?!?!) then told me it he said hed only charge me $70 for the diagnosis (which is totally inaccurate). On top of all of this the car stopped running two days after I got it back from them. I took it to another shop and it was the same problem I supposedly got fixed at Pep Boys! Ill say it again - Please if you care anything about your car DONT GO HERE!

On 12/3/2013 I had a blowout in the morning and brought in a loose wheel to be checked for repair or replacement. The tire was dropped off at opening time (8:00 am) with Mike the manager and I was told I would receive a call when it was ready or if further work was required, no problem right? Wrong. Eight hours later after failing to get a call or anything I called to check on the status of the tire to see if it was fixed or needed replacement and was told it was ready for pick-up, problem solved right? Wrong. On my way to work and home the next day I have a massive vibration coming from the right front of the vehicle which had the recently repaired tire on it.. so on 12/4/2013 at 5:00 pm I went back to Pepboys and told them the tire either wasnt balanced at all or was balanced improperly and I simply need it re-balanced no inspection or anything just balance the tire please. Not even 10 mins later I went outside to check on them and was hoping Id be good to go but my car was NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. I asked the "service manager" at the time by the name of Mark if it was normal to road test a vehicle when a customer clearly says they just want the tire re-balanced? His reply was "Can you step out of the shop." Anyways as it turns out, they never balanced the tire the first time I brought it in and was incredibly out of balance. I think this specific location has a serious customer service and management problem and upper management should really take this as an opportunity to rectify the situation. Personally I would never recommend having your vehicle serviced here.

Worst service , I went to repair my car break pads and they replace break pads and rotors as well, after they replaced I noticed overheat near the rotors/break pads . When I asked them to check for the heat problem they mentioned my car front and rear struts /suspension were broken and they asked me to replace it , I spent another $700 in replacing them , but this problem is not resolved. I feel they dont have proper mechanics in this center . Normally i always go to Honda dealer , first time I tried in PepBoys and that is my biggest mistake . I never visit PepBoys again , Dont go to this service center and waste your money and time. Also they left my car door open and that caused my car battery went completely down and they helped to do jump start that time, but from there on I had problem during car ignition and after 3 days the car battery completely dead, i end up buying new car battery for another $120. They dont give your car on time , I dropped my car at 9:00AM in the morning and when I went back at 3:00PM they didnt even start anything , they left the car at the same place where I parked. If you call PepBoys customer care they dont care about your problem , they always tell you to talk to service manager on that center. I dont recommend going to PepBoys Service Center at 6325 Fallbrook Ave,Woodland Hills,CA,91367 .

I have seen many good things about Pep boys over the years, so I decided to give them a chance. What a mistake. I have a 2013 Subaru Impreza with about 45K. I took in i about 3 months ago for tires and brakes. The tires were getting a little thin with the rainy season coming I decided it was a good time to change the tires. Since it was in I also had them do the brakes. They asked if there were any issues and I said no, I just wanted to get it all done at onetime. Pretty simple task. We started hearing some noise from the brakes after about 3 weeks. I told my wife to give it some time as new pads could cause this. They kept making noise so we took it back to have it looked at, and they said we needed a complete brake job. They obviously didnt even bother to look that we had just been in with it for brakes. They proceeded to tell me that the rotors were worn and that this was causing the noise. First off worn rotors dont cause noise unless there is no disk left. Secondly, when I had the brakes done 3 months ago they said the rotors were fine. It appears that someone is just trying to sell more service instead of taking care of the client.
