After checking around a few other shops in the area, I settled on Bavarian Workshop. The shop is nice, clean facility that you can drop of your old 325i or your new 135i and feel that your car is in good hands. My first visit resulted in my 98 323is running smoother than it has when I first bought it in 2006. They washed it for me as part of my service, as they do every time. For years Ive worked on my own cars as my dad was a BMW factory trained tech for over 35 years. But when I moved from Northern California, I had to find a shop that would take care of my car since I wont have personal access to a shop and tools. Marc and Skip are great guys who are willing to chit chat with you about whats going on with your car now and down the road. I currently have an extended warranty, AUL, which they also happen to sell there and its been nothing but a pleasure having my car repaired via AUL. No weird hassles, I never have the feeling like they charging me for something that would be covered like you always hear horror stories about from dealerships and the like. Bottom line, they make me feel comfortable when I let someone else work on my car which has always been something to make me nervous. If youre looking for a new shop, or an alternative to the dealership, I highly recommend Bavarian Workshop! -Jason

True BMW experts and good people. I recommend this shop for its trained mechanics, equipment on a par with dealer service departments, professional and friendly service. Naturally, their work is priced above the average for an independent shop in the L.A. area. I came across the Bavarian Workshop when I wanted some (optional for my car) onboard computer functions to be activated. This required recoding the instrument cluster. Most shop owners I went to couldn’t understand what I wanted. They insisted there must be a loose connection or a broken wire somewhere... One knew what needed to be done, but explained their BMW diagnostics system doesn’t have the required software. A dealer service advisor, after talking a few times with the tech who had my car, insisted I need a new computer to have these functions enabled… a lot of time wasted. All it took to have my problem solved was a brief phone conversation with Marc, and a visit to his shop. He didn’t need more than ten minutes to finish this. Needless to say, I kept bringing my ageing BMW to his shop and was never disappointed.

All the reviews here were written within four days, "Jim," "Gilbert" and David all spelled MINI "mini," and the five reviewers other reviews are for the same businesses, all written within four days. If this guy isnt tech savvy enough to write convincing fake reviews for himself, imagine what hell do to your car. Fortunately there are real reviews available. Google "Bavarian Workshop reviews." Update 4/24/10: OK, youre at least tech-savvy enough to edit your reviews--"Gilbert" corrected his spelling of MINI. But what about "Jim" and "David"? Cmon, no self-respecting MINI owner would spell it this way. And now Im wondering if "Lloyd," who registered and wrote all five of his reviews 4/15/10 and like all the other reviewers writes as if English is not his first language, spent a hot weekend at Cabana On The Coast with "Andre". Never mind tech-savvy, how about honesty? You think honesty might be something people look for in an auto repair shop?

Ive always had great experiences with Marc and their service team. Ive had them work on my used 530i three different times now and each time Ive been thoroughly impressed with their quality work and the sincere care the mechanics take with my car and getting all of the problems fixed correctly. Its not a pretentious place - simple, clean and down to earth. Marc is a great listener and communicator - he figures out pretty quickly what I really need to spend my time and money on. Whenever Ive had my cars serviced by traditional BMW dealers, it always seems like Im going through a pre-determined formula of solutions - regardless of what I can honestly afford or fixing the most critical things that really need to be fixed in relation to my budget, versus simply fixing "whatever" no matter my budget. At Bavarian Workshop, Ive always felt like Ive gotten excellent service at a fair price. These guys are now my only BMW repair shop.

Ive had my car serviced at another shop for various repairs. However, I think they overbooked cars and forgot about the customer service side. Ive had to rent a car on several occasions, because of there delay in service. New to the area from the San Francisco, Bay Area. I came across this service center, and Marc, was very pleasant, understanding and really listened to my concerns. I was really impressed when I dropped off my car, they offered me a ride home, which was very awesome! I give them 5 stars for all there excellent customer service skills and warm atmosphere . Even, from all the mechanics and especially Angel, who also washed my car when it was ready. Thanks again for a new home for my car!!!

By far and away the best service experience I have ever had! From the ease of scheduling an appointment online to the integrity of the staff to the quality of the service, Bavarian Workshop is the finest BMW service shop around. The facilities are clean, contemporary, and feel like an actual BMW dealership but the staff is kind and honest. They made me aware of things that would need service soon but did not try to sell me on servicing them too soon and the final charges were actually less than initially quoted. And to top it off… they provided free car service to and from my home and free wash and detail of my car. Simply amazing!

After having gone through the independent BMW mechanics in the west valley, I found Bavarian Workshop several years ago. First, the shop is immaculate -- one sign of a well run shop. Second, and most importantly, is the trust that is engendered by Marcs honesty and forthrightness along with his staff regarding the work needed on my X5. Whether it is routine maintenance, or the desperate call of "Marc, I need to bring it right now..." he has accommodated my requests. Bavarian Workshop has earned my implicit trust with the service on my car. I couldnt be happier. So long as I drive BMWs, Ive made it known that Marc cannot retire!

Marc diagnosed my Mini and found it to have major problems with the timing chain and as a result bent valves in the head. I was out of warranty and the repairs were going to be in the thousands. Instead of pushing me to have the car repaired he coached me on the problems and told me that mini was having a lot of troubles with the timing chain and I probably would be better served if i took it to the dealer. Bavarian Workshop did not charge me a dime for diagnostics and because of their advise I saved thousands. Thank you for the honest advise and prompt service.

I have nothing but great things to say about Marc, Jay and their entire team. Ive taken 2 different cars to them and theyve always taken great care of me and my vehicle. I am not extremely knowledgable about cars, and would have been an easy target to be overcharged, but they never did. One time i had to have my car towed in to the shop for some problem with the coolant system. I was expecting the bill to be in the thousands, but it ended up costing me less than $200. I would recommend these guys to anyone who wants to take great care of their car.
