Long story short: I went in for a smog check. They told me it failed. I said, how? They mumbled some garbage about a part that needs to be replaced. I asked how much They said $150 per part, but i need 2x. I said no thanks, I asked what my car scored. They said "passing is 25, you scored, like, a 42. Maybe driving around would make you pass." I said, "uh... huh. Well, how about you just print my failed report" They pulled up a different car, ran that for the smog test and gave me the paperwork for it (with my vehicles data filled in) saying I passed the test, and I owe them $$ for the big favor their doing. "We could lose our license" I paid the $45 (as the coupon priced), and took my car home with a passing grade. Ultimately, my car never failed, it never would have failed. They wanted to squeeze $300 (parts)+$ for labor out of me and I wouldnt have it. These are the mechanics you cannot trust. As "john" said: DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!

Ive been going to Moorpark Auto & Smog for over 3 years and have nothing but positive things to say about the work they do!! Its unfortunate that the majority of people that come on to rate places are negative since they are "driven" to express themselves, rather than those who walk away satisfied. The first several times I went to Moorpark Auto I had a second opinion done at Firestone and the dealership which both proved to be $300-600 more than what Moorpark offered. One of the best aspects of their business is they give you a quote and stick to it, even if the parts or prices end up being more. What to expect: Quick and professional work, far below dealer or chain-store mechanic prices, and the assurance that you are getting taken care of. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a reliable small car mechanic that stays in business by cutting the major commercial competition.

Hacks. Dont waste your money! I went there because I had a tube code which means I wont pass smog. The kid told me hed do a diagnostic for $90 but all he did was put on his scan tool which I had done with mine and even told him the code. When I picked up the car he told me he would replace a couple things and if that didnt do it he would replace some more stuff. He basically said he would replace every component. I know this because I researches the problem but cant fix it because I have a bad back. My brother was a smog technician at this station years ago and would never work like this. Pretty good knowledge on BMWs. I took in my 1996 BMW 840ci and had issues with the car not starting in cold mornings. Within 10 minutes, they diagnosed the problem, called someone to verify it and within 2 hours I was back on the road. It was a $45 item , and he did not try to make it look worse than it was. I was expecting it to run in the hundreds hoping no to reach $1,000 and was very releaved to hear that it was going to cost less than $100 to take care of it. I stopped by for gas and Art came over to verify everything was OK with my car. Follow through and great customer service. He has my business for life!

Very professional and personal treatment at Moorpark Auto & Smug. I was impressed by Art and his crew on performing a simple oil change and smug on my car every time I visit them. I recommend everyone to Moorpark Auto & Smug for all auto needs. They have beat my best price much for my set of brand new tires for my car and replaced them in a timely manner with almost no wait time. I am very thankful and happy that there are people that still do the right thing for the customer to be happy and to stay loyal to the local mechanic. !!! Great achievement and more to come. Ok, so they actually have great service here and nice employees no doubt about it. However, after having paid 360 dollars for changing the rotors on all the wheels, I was told the awful bicycle-sound from my brakes would disappear. After no improvement, I took it back, and they did it all over again without any extra charges. Still, the brakes sounds horrible when I use the,. Whats the point with giving great service if you cant fix the problem adequately? I guess its just another example of how the Auto-Industry will do any kind of job as long as they make a profit...

Whenever i had a problem with my car or any maintenance work that has to get done I only go to Moorpark Auto . They are really fast at getting my car fixed, which is the best cause i cant go too long without a car and the prices are very affordable, and they always hook me up with the best deals since I only trust them with my car and i highly recommend them if you are very picky on choosing people to touch your car.

Moorpark Auto & Smog is the best place if you want 100% job done on your car. This guys have been in the business for a long time and they know to do everything right. They do great job, they work fast and you will never regret for going there after job is done. If you want good deals, and very nice service Moorpark Auto & Smog is the best shop ever.

Stay away, the smog tech Andrew will rip you off. He finds all kind of things to let your car fail the smog check. No free re-test. Bring your car to places that they allow free re-test if the car fail the smog check. Mine is simple fault engine light and OBDII is not ready and they charged me twice for that.
