I had a horrible 99 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 about 6 years ago. After taking it to another shop in Agoura for multiple issues, including wheel bearings, entire new braking system and some other things, I had the transmission go into limp-home mode one day. This time I took it to Tapo Transmission. This guy was up front and honest and I told him that I only wanted to get it going so I could trade it in almost immediately. He was able to fix it permanently for a really fair price. Now I take my Subaru to him. Unfortunately for him, it hardly ever needs work. But he is always fair and honest. I would recommend him to anyone and I always do.

I give the two who work here a "good" rating on know-how. On common customer relations, these two definitely did not have any schooling. They wear their rudeness like a badge. Ask questions about the repair and you get a rude answer like you are insulting them. Hey, maybe its because I am Asian. Who knows? BTW, they are also not cheap. Take your business elsewhere if you can.

Gave me a quote over the phone, after I tow the truck and ship the trans to his shop he changes prices. My fault for not getting a written quote. But dont make it your mistake. Shop owner is dishonest and I would rather go elsewhere next time I change out a trans. Youve been warned..
