I hired Bell to do my guest bathroom remodeling which included demolition of the original shower insert and water fixtures; then installing new water fixtures and tiled -to-the-ceiling shower walls (with appropriate backing board and sealer) along with a custom Salita Stone shower pan. Bell employees Nathan did the demolition and plumbing while Jeff Scott did the tile work (Salita Shower Systems installed the shower pan). All work by the Bell employees was done to my satisfaction and I was particularly impressed with Jeffs detailed tile work, always consulting with me with what he was doing as he progressed with the job and he laid out the pattern of the tile on the garage floor for each shower wall for my inspection so that I could make any changes to the tile color/pattern arrangement before he installed it on the shower walls. The job included a inlaid shelving niche on one of the walls, which is a time consuming, detailed job requiring much cutting and fitting of the tile. Jeff was very careful with this work and showed much patience. During this several day project, Jeff always arrived on time for the work day. He is a pleasant person to have on the job. I felt I was fortunate to have Jeff as the tile man and carpenter for this project (and Nathan for the demolition and plumbing part of the job) which resulted in a satisfying, quality remodeling of the bathroom space. Nathan and Randy were assigned to remove my shower, tub, toilet and carpeting in the master bathroom on August 26, 2013. This was done with a minimum of mess. Then they installed the new Hydro Massage Mystic Model "soaking tub". Nathan installed "rough-in" of new shower and tub valves and moved the water pipes as needed. Randy continued installing the subflooring and wall board in the shower, tub back splash and the specially constructed tub front skirt frame for tiling. This work was satisfactorily completed August 28, 2013. Nathan will return at a later date to complete the plumbing and installation of the Delta Addison water fixtures. Jeff Scot was assigned to tile my master bathroom floor, September 10, 2013. The 18" square tile came in several colors and patterns. Jeff laid out the tiles on the floor and consulted with me as to the arrangement so that changes could be made before they were set. Bullnose tile was installed as the baseboard. The selection process was done with those tiles as well. Jeff did a nice job of grouting the floor tiles and worked in the sanded grout caulking details along the edges. The completed floor looks great and complements the rest of the bathroom remodeling project. Jeff also patched and textured damaged sheetrock which was caused by removal of the large vanity mirror which was glued to the wall. I have ordered the shower glass enclosure through Bells subcontractor, Denver Glass, Inc. (DGI), who came in with a successful bid for a frameless 3/8" glass door/enclosure in the master bathroom. I was impressed with the Paul King, the DGI detail person, for his knowledge and suggestions for this 80" tall glass enclosure. The shower walls, tub backsplash, front tub skirt and shower pan is man-made marble decorative stone, made and installed by Salita Shower Systems. The color is Breccia Aurora. They are also a subcontractor of Bells. This installation nicely finishes off the new look of the master bathroom shower/tub area.

$399 to change out a Rheem furnace igniter - are you kidding???? The igniter went out in my rental and my tenants needed heat. After researching the issue online and testing a couple things, it was determined the issue was an open igniter. It shows it is very simple to change and the part is $20 on Amazon. I would do it my self, but I am not in town so I needed to find a company that could take on this simple task for a FAIR price I called a few companies and Pro Lline gave me an estimate of $180-$240 prior to being sent out. Bell said their technician would have to see it before they could determine the exact cost, but they should be competitive. And,the $49 trip charge would be waived if they did the work, and the technician would call with an cost after determining the problem. I decided to use them because of high ratings. WHAT A MISTAKE - I SHOULD HAVE USED PRO LINE!!! The technician called back and said it was the igniter (DUH) and it was going to cost $399. I did not agree with that and said I need to talk to the service manager prior to letting him start. I called, left 2-3 messages and never heard from the service manager, Steve. I SHOULD HAVE LEFT THE TECHNICIAN HANGING AT THE SITE LIKE STEVE DID ME. But, it was not the technicians fault. So, I did not want him to do the work but felt forced into it because if he left, they would charge me the $49 and after that, paying for someone else to do it was going to end up costing more. Plus, the tenants still needed heat. Steve did not call back until I called again and left messages. He told me they cost so much because they are a big company, they pay lots of liability insurance costs, they are part of a union, they have lots of certifications costs, blah, blah, blah. I requested a technician to perform a simple task of replacing an igniter, not a brain surgeon to stitch a minor cut. The technician worked about an hour - so, subtracting the cost of the part, $20, that equates to a bill rate of $379/hr. Even marking up the part cost 100% and adding the trip charge it still comes to over $300/hr. I told Steve I was willing to pay a fair cost of $225, but not his outrageous cost. I told them to take my credit card information off file, and he just replied, "I guess you can dispute it, but we are charging you". Now thats customer service. Dont worry Steve, a dispute will be coming your way and you have lost this client forever. I hope the rest of you that read this realize there are a lot of fair contractors out there, and you decide NOT TO USE BELL HOME SOLUTIONS FOR ANYTHING!!!

I want to give a big thanks to Mr. Rios, who helped us in a crisis. Our main water line into the house broke, and he had many obstacles to overcome. 1) We live in a townhome with an HOA, and we dont have meters or independent shut-offs. I had to call the water department and HOA to get them to turn the water off which basically was not just ours, but a section of our neighborhood. He was efficient with time, and went to get parts during the time we had to wait for the water department to come. When the water department expressed concern about turning off that many units, Mr. Rios understand that it needed to be done quickly and he set out to make that happen. He understood all the coordination that was going on, and helped me stay on top of it. 2) Our crawl space was flooded, and its a crawl space, and Mr. Rios worked in some "humid", muddy, back-breaking conditions, and he never complained. 3) He is a good problem solver. 4) He is professional and patient. 5) He explained everything thoroughly of what he was fixing and replacing. I was educated on what exactly was going on which is comforting to know. 6) I asked for advice on some other plumbing issues, and he was forthcoming with good advice and gave me info on other services that Bell Plumbing has that I didnt know about. Weve had so much maintenance over the years from other companies, and not all of the people have been friendly, and some will not go the extra mile, and if its not worth it, they wont do it. I asked Mr. Rios about some existing problems we have been dealing with for years now, and he knew how to fix what other service repair people said couldnt be done. Now that we know it can be done, we are definitely going to call Bell Plumbing who wants to help us fix our house that was made in the 70s that nobody has the parts The reason my husband called Bell again was because after getting our frozen pipes in the restroom replaced, the repair man worked so hard despite the 70s parts, and he fixed it. I dont know who he was, but because of his service we called Bell, and again, today, with Mr. Jaosn Rios, we know who to call now. You get the job done, despite the complex issues involved. We are so thankful this huge problem was solved quickly. Hes really nice and personable too. Again, Thank you so much.
