When my dear brother passed away last month, a friend from the area recommended Newcomer to me since I was from a different state. I was there when my brother passed but the rest of my family did not get there in time. My brother passed on Saturday evening, His mother, 87 yrs old, his two brothers and two other sisters were either flying or driving to get to Denver to say good bye. I called newcomer after he passed and they picked up my brother. The next day (Sunday) and Monday I asked Newcomer if my mother and siblings could view the body and say goodbye to him just for a few minutes because they had to leave Tuesday and Wednesday morning for MN. They would not let my family see my brother! They said they were too busy and that the soonest they could let us see him was Wednesday. By that time my siblings and mother would have left. They denied my mother who traveled 1000 miles to try to see my brother before he passed. Her 1st born son! They wouldnt even let us see him for 15 minutes! We ended up having to change funeral homes. The one we switched to said it was no problem that we see him and say goodbye! They let us see him the same day! They could not understand why the people at Newcomer did not let us see our brother! At that time we didnt know if he would be cremated so it would have been the last time any of us would have been able to see him the way he was and say our final goodbyes. These people need to take a class on how to be compassionate!

HORRIBLE!!!!! I never could have imagined getting horrible service from a funeral home before, but be aware that it is possible. My grandma passed away on July 2, 2017 and we had Hospice involve so they helped with everything when she passed. The nurse called the funeral home to come get my grandma. They came, got her, everything was fine....until the next day when my mom gets a phone call saying that they took my grandma to the wrong funeral home... and are telling my mother that she owes them $210.00 for the mistake!!!! Excuse me? This was NOT OUR MISTAKE, this was all between the Hospice nurse and the funeral home, it wasnt our fault she called the wrong place.. So we tell them that we are not paying that $210.00 for their mistake.. We find the place she WAS SUPPOSED to be brought to.. and NEWCOMER WILL NOT RELEASE THE BODY!!!! My poor mom is frantic trying to figure out what to do. FINALLY the gentleman that works at the funeral home she was supposed to be brought to in the first place has to CALL THE POLICE to have the body released. It is now July 8, 2017... this whole process SHOULD NOT have taken so much time! But now finally my grandma is going to the right place and she can finally be at rest, and so can the rest of my family! I am absolutely disgusted with this company. You obviously need some new staff that knows what they are doing and what bodies are being brought to your facility.
