After reading a review of the Downtown Barber Shop, I thought it sounded like my kind of place. After going there, I cant imagine that the reviewer was talking about the same establishment that I visited. As the title suggests, I received my worst haircut ever at this "barbershop." I should have known from looking around, as the interior was a mess- from the filthy fishtank to haphazardly stacked boxes- giving it the appearance of a messy college dorm room. The barber, I didnt catch his name, didnt even bother to brush off the seat before I sat down. He seemed to ignore my instructions and took an arbitrary amount of hair off of each part of my head. I coulnt tell, though, because the one mirror in the whole shop was to my back and partial blocked by junk...After making a few corrections, I settled with what I had, and didnt realize until later that not only was the cut not what I wanted, It was visibly crooked (my hair in the back is noticably longer on one side than the other, as is the length of hair over my ears and my bangs). I have already begun warning people away from this place, and I can only say that if you are brave enough to chance it here, be prepared to get another haircut soon after, at least so it doesnt look like you cut your hair by yourself in a dark room.

If you are looking for an old fashioned haircut in a relaxed atmosphere this is the place to go to. The Barber was an older gentleman that probably wasnt up on the latest, "styles", but gave me a solid hair cut. If you are some sort of, "prissy boy", that is worried about how clean the chair is or how, "uncluttered", the place is then go to, "Stupidcuts", and while you are at it, ask your doctor for a sex change so you can, "feel", more comfortable about yourself. If you want to get a hair cut and have an interesting conversation about anything from the history of Colorado Springs to how it was like to serve in the Navy over 50 years ago, go to this guy. Oh and the prices werent bad either, 15 bucks no extra B.S. like asking if you want your hair washed or to sign up on some email list!

I have been getting my hair cut here for many years now. Great job! The sole Barber is a great guy! My wife really thinks I look great, that is what matters too me. I read the other reviews and one wasnt so good. In life you must know that faults like straws upon the surface flow, if one would find a pearl one must dive below. I found a pearl at this shop, and I would recommend getting a haircut there at least once in your life, and if you dont like the way it looks go somewhere else. Respectfully, Tim

If youre looking for a haircut in the downtown area, this is the place to go. Jerry is a quiet man and his shop is old school, but he will make sure you leave looking like a new man. It would be nice if he took appointments since you can sometimes end up waiting a while to get your turn in the chair. Overall, I would highly recommend Downtown Barber Shop if you want an awesome haircut and dont mind the simplistic style of Jerrys shop

The way ones hair looks says a great deal about them. After a few misadventures elsewhere Im delighted with the results here. This is a the place I get best statement. Experienced, caring and skillful, I depend on them without fail.
